If you’re looking for a book that offers more than just words on a page, Embracing Calm: Meditation Journeys for Inner Peace by Anne E. Beall is a transformative experience. As someone who’s often skeptical about self-help books, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. Beall’s background as a psychologist shines through as she guides readers on a series of peaceful, meditative journeys, each more vivid and immersive than the last.

What makes this book unique is its flexibility. You’re not bound to a single narrative but can choose from various tranquil settings, like secluded forests, calm beaches, or even enchanted castles. This book isn’t just for those looking to relax; it’s a fantastic tool for creatives, especially writers grappling with writer’s block. The ancient forest and library chapters, in particular, sparked my imagination, fueling my own writing.

Beall’s ability to transport readers to these serene worlds makes this book a valuable companion for anyone needing a mental escape. Whether you’re looking to unwind or find creative inspiration, Embracing Calm is a journey worth taking. Five stars! Thank you to the author for the book and my honest review.

I feel this is a soothing and relaxing book. It has been skillfully written to embrace all your senses. As the author encourages you to smell, feel, visualise, taste and see all of what she is describing you feel yourself alleviating all your worries and being present in the moment of the journey the author is taking you on. I will definitely be using this as my favourite meditation tool and I think the audio version would be even more relaxing. My favourite journeys were the Luxury Train Trip and the Beach Resort. The beautiful illustrations are so vivid that you don't need to use your imagination unless you choose to. For those who prefer visualisation meditation over breathe meditation then I highly encourage you to try this. I found myself so relaxed that I drifted off for a few moments!

Great Relaxing Read!

This was a great read for relaxation! A large collection of first person views in different settings, the descriptions are great, and I’m sure the audio version would make for good meditation.
