Hannah James is young, beautiful… and missing.

Her husband Liam is distraught. He can’t believe she’s gone and just wants to find her.

Or so he says.

DCI Rachel Taylor is assigned to track down the missing woman. But even in a case this complex, things can go from bad to worse. Fast.

Because what she’ll discover about this seemingly perfect couple won’t solve the mystery - it will unleash a horrifying chain of events that will put everyone involved in danger. As Rachel battles skeptical police colleagues and a broken system, she realises only she can stop the bloodshed and find Hannah, and will risk everything to do her reputation, her job - even her life…

From an unmissable new talent in psychological thriller-writing comes a heart-pounding debut novel marrying the suspenseful twists of Lisa Jewell and Nicci French with the gripping detective work of Lynda La Plante’s legendary Jane Tennison series

This book popped up on my Instagram and I was drawn by the cover as it looked pretty dark. It’s all about Hannah who has gone missing and Liam, her devastated husband but we quickly find out all is not as it seems. This book was absolutely gripping and I couldn’t put it down. A very good read and kept me on the edge of my seat, beware trigger warnings, domestic abuse, both physical and mental and rape. Well worth a read.

I love coming across books like this on Kindle Unlimited. After being in a bit of a slump lately, I needed something as gripping as this in my life right now. It’s true, I was hooked from the first page and I managed to read this one in just a couple of hours. Considering this is a new author and I’ve never seen this one on insta/tiktok or had any clue what I was going into, I’m shocked by how much I enjoyed it.

Definitely for fans of Behind Closed Doors & The Last Thing to Burn and just as compelling. Please check trigger warnings, some scenes were difficult to read. You’ll definitely have to suspend your disbelief at times, but overall this is a great read! I will absolutely read more by this author.

This book was suggested to me by a Facebook group I belong to. And boy, am I ever glad I read it. It was an intense book that held my interest from start to finish, making me want to read more from this author. I tried to find more books by her but couldn't find any, but I will keep my eyes open as this was a well-written, captivating story. One caveat would be that if you are triggered by physical, verbal, and/or mental abuse, then this book is not for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend this read.

This book was SOO GOOD! It was a bit heartbreaking to read some of it due to the victimization. BUT it all ended as it should. I literally couldn't put it down and read it in a day and a half! The characters were well developed and the story line was great! I will most definitely keep my eye out for Grace Heathers!!

I read this book based on a FB group and this is the author I adopted. I am SO glad I got this author. This book wouldn’t have been my 1st pick but it was a really good book. Parts I couldn’t put down other parts I could. But I’m recommending this book to my friends that read! Wonderful book!

WOW, I finished this in around 15hours!!
Hannah's story is horrific but I couldn't put it down. So many twists and turns, Liam spiraling out of control, hoping Hannah gets a happy ending.
I will definitely look out for future books from this author.

It’s a good book, but tbh it made me uncomfortable just how much rape is in it. It’s the only thing that held me back from truly enjoying it. Other than that, it’s an amazing thriller.

Just make sure you check the trigger warnings. Some scenes were just too much for me

I enjoyed the book mostly but didn't like some aspects of it. I found the 'blame' narratives from the narrator a bit tedious

This was okay. Hard to follow in third person but focuses on different perspectives throughout. I found myself just wanting this hurry & end. But it was an okay story. No depth, not much to help You connect with the characters.***adding after later thoughts…I literally can’t remember this book. That’s how boring it was actually. Do not recommend. Taking away a star.
