Amara's had a varied and exciting career as an herbalist, retail store owner, elementary school teacher, English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, and author. Born in El Paso, Texas, she's spent much of her life in the Southwestern United States and now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her kitties and precious husband, Sam.
Amara has been writing since she was quite young, often finding it a great outlet for her self-expression and creativity. (little known fact-she went behind the dean's back and published a literary magazine at the girls' school she attended. It was a great success, and she was only fifteen.
She has a BS in Elementary Education and a Master's in Language and Literacy from the University of New Mexico. She taught in Bilingual classrooms and loved it. She always has a story to tell and told many to her budding students.
Her newest books are ON THE WINGS OF A HAWK, a story of love and grief and healing and BREATH OF THE SORCERER, a tale of redemption and magic.
