As the new starting quarterback, I'm the team's last hope for the championship.
Now is not the time to get distracted by a disturbingly attractive man.
Especially when he has a habit of turning up places where he shouldn't.
Like the team lounge after hours. In the team private showers.
Besides, I'm straight.
Or so everybody at this Deep South football college needs to believe...

Slate is the starting quarterback for his college team. After the two other quarterbacks were injured the pressure falls on his shoulders. Noah is a homeless man whom Slate caught in the team locker room shower. Noah also has been banned from the college grounds because he was caught sleeping in the lounge and not being a student. The coach of the team has another issue someone is stealing their plays and breaching security. Slate suspects Noah and starts investigating. This book is very intriguing and the characters are wonderful. It does end in a bit of a cliffhanger, but that just makes you crave the next book.

Typically I am not a fan of books ending in a cliffhanger, but it seems perfect for this one. A great mystery of Slate, then straight college quarterback, who encounters a homeless man, Noah, in the team locker. Seems someone has been stealing teams plays and Slate sets out to determine if Noah is that man. I love the mystery surrounding Noah and cannot wait for book two where more will be revealed. My advice is read and them practice patience and you will have more questions than answers. I was not familiar with this author but putting them on my list. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

The Bird App. Pond Scum. Baz00mbas.

Be aware that this story ends with a major cliffhanger. But you will crave reading the next book, because it is SOOO good! It is a captivating, compelling, dramatic, and nail-biting gay mystery (suspense, maybe?) book. It is well-written; the scenery is gorgeous and the characters are crafted intelligently. It is medium angsty and has abbreviated steamy scenes. I can hardly wait for the next one! Easy recommend!

A new author for me and I really enjoyed this one. Can't wait to read the second book. Itmakes perfect sense that Slate as the quarterback in the South isn't out and the complications posed by his attraction to Noah and his suspicions that he might be involved in stealing the team's plays are well done. There is a nice balance between romance and mystery.

Interesting

While this does end on a cliffhanger, the story is worth enduring the time it'll take to get book 2. I enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next part.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

On kobo (1230008337153); 127 pages, EPub 2 DRM-Free

First in a seqence - originally a serialised publication, which accounts for the regular (short) length of chapters and ending at a pause point rather than a conclusion. Reserve quarterback college star becomes embroiled in espionage when it appears someone has broken the college security system and hacked the team video records...
