The book follows Vincent and Rebecca's journey, going from two strangers that meet at a cafe, that feel attraction and act upon it, to two people that disliked each other on principle and preconceptions and then right to this couple that faces a somewhat close-minded community, hostility and even inner demons. The journey isn't an easy one. We get to see what a difference of opinion and an age gap looks like, one that is beautifully executed and does not disappear into thin air, they just learn to accept and live with it.
There were a few moments that I would have liked to be included, that I considered important, but, even so, I liked how their relationship progressed, especially when they sat and had discussions about their preconceptions. We do get a bad friend in this book but, spoiler alert, it isn't Rebecca. Not only does the friend have what, I consider, an exaggerated reaction, but also that scene made that person a hypocrite in my eyes. Other than that, this was an enjoyable read for me. I received a free copy from ARC in exchange for an honest opinion of the Off-Limits Grumpy Silver Fox by Meghan Blake.
Meghan Blake’s latest book is a steamy, scorchingly-hot, swoon-worthy romance! I loved the plot, and the book held my interest throughout the whole story. Every book she writes seems to get better.
The main characters are really likeable, and I felt the ups and downs of their story through the author’s descriptive prose. The readers can envision their push and pull, the chemistry, and the desperate attempts to stay away from each other due to their circumstances and the significant age gap. It makes it so intensely satisfying when they finally give up the fight to avoid their growing love.
I never give a synopsis of the book or reveal spoilers when I do a review, so this is my opinion on the merits of this book. If you enjoy age-gap, forbidden love romance, you should read this one! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Vincent and Rebecca have known each other since Rebecca and Olivia, Vincent's younger sister (17 years younger) became friends over 15 years ago. But they hadn't seen each other in nearly that many years and so they don't know each by sight when they bump into each other at the airport cafe arriving for Olivia's wedding. They hook up for a one-night stand without exchanging names. Lo and behold when they discover who each other are. Olivia wants Rebecca and Vincent to plan her wedding. As they plan the event, their feelings develop. Rebecca worries what Olivia will say. Vincent worries about their age difference plus he's not sure of what his true feelings are. Do they have a chance?.

This was a real good story. I enjoyed the back and forth between them. They were enemies when they were younger. When they ran into each other again at the Cafe at the airport when she returned to her home town for a wedding they didn't recognize each other. The instant attraction was abundant and they couldn't resist acting on it. The next day they realized who the other person was when Olivia (the best friend and sister) introduced them to each other. Vincent denied his feelings the most and continued to hurt Rebecca with his words and behavior. She asked for a chance at a relationship and he said no he had to much to lose. She avoided him as much as possible which was hard since they had to plan Olivia's wedding together.
Age gap, I understand....though their ages are never said. However, from the description I a@umed she is 25ish and he's 40ish. But his sister is marrying his friend who seems to be in his mad 30s... so maybe 10ish years older than his sister. They are both adults What was the purpose of Gertrude? Who gets locked inside a hotel room? Why would you need a key to get out of the room? He called his friend. Why not call the hotel reception desk? How would the friend have a key? If the sister is marrying an older man, why is she upset about her friend and brother? It was very slow in spots and sometimes hard to follow. I'm just happy he got over himself, and they were able to be together .
Rebecca's one-night stand turns out to be her best friend's brother which makes him automatically off-limits, not to mention the large age-gap between them. Despite the obstacles and they were somewhat difficult to get through, Rebecca and Vincent had great moments together that were exciting to read. However, there were some parts that needed some clarification as to what progressed but overall, it was enjoyable.

I enjoyed Vincent and Rebecca’s story. Coffee after a long flight leads to a captivating encounter with this mature stranger. Turns out, he's her hometown bestie's brother. 😲 it was an entertaining read. And am voluntarily leaving this review.
The storyline was great but I didn't like how it skipped around mid chapter. It was very rushed. If it had been labeled like 2 days later or weeks later etc that would have made it less confusing. It made it hard to follow.
