Can I rate this more than 5 stars? Yes, I can.
This is a chef 💋 kiss.

What I am about to tell you. I hope you truly listen. So, you have been warned ⚠️. Yes all of these are in this book ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⚠️

Death of a supporting character, kidnapping, drug use, alcohol use, graphic sexual assault, graphic physical abuse, attempted murder, murder, inappropriate use of a cattle prod, bondage, spanking, sexual cohesion, dubious consent, forced orgasm, orgasm denial, attempted suicide, mention of suicide, mention of child abuse, forced marriage, torture, r@%e g*******, drowning, mention of miscarriage, Chase kink,
, r@%e, sexual manipulation, tracking, stalking, knife use, mask use, inappropriate use of chains, forced enema, forced catheter, self-mutilation, destruction of private property, disembowelment, systematic execution, public humiliation, degradation, use of a gag, forced reading, breeding keep, anal sex, mm sex scenes, mf sex scenes, self-defense training, third act break up, anal and oral r@%e, imprisonment, isolation, panic attacks, PTSD flashbacks, verbal attacks.

Omg! I am still reeling from this emotional roller-coaster ride. When you read this book. Everything that she tells you in the beginning read it carefully. You're gonna need ALL the emotional support you can get.

I loved this whole series. It was by far the best series I have read in so long. It grabs you like a chokehold and doesn't let go.
You WILL cry, I promise. You will even probably wanna throw stuff. That is for sure.
BUT The twists and turns in this book. HOLY SH!T. I lost it. 😭 Just when you think things aren't gonna get any worse in this book.
BAM!! WRONG!!
it sucks you right back in.
Somewhere though your heart will mend. That I can say for sure.
Also, on a good note did I forget to mention that this book is spicy 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶AF? Just to put that out there. You will thank me later..

But, yes there is another but. I have one more thing to share with you that you are going to need. So, here it goes.

One last thing book besties. Before you jump into the book, you need to gather your supplies and ditch the things that aren't necessary.

1. Ditch the panties. (You gonna ruin them. You can thank me later)😉
2. Make sure to have plenty of tissues. One for the tears and one for your lady bits.
3. What's your drink of choice? Whatever it is stock up. (THIS IS GOING TO HURT)🥺
4. This is a long read. So snacks are a must.
5. Warn your husband/wife/significant other that when they hear you screaming. It's just a book not to worry.

GOOD LUCK. YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT.

And that I did!

Zepphora you warned me. Omg!! You outdid yourself this was brilliant, a masterpiece, a for sure Chef kiss.💋
The Consequences was all I hoped for and more.
Brilliant writing at its finest.

People be warned you MUST read the first five books to understand book six. You won't regret it..
I hope Tiernan gets his story 🙏. Just saying 🙂

Let me start this review off by saying, if you have not dived into Zepphora’s work, this ENTIRE series is a must read. Very few authors can write a series where it’s perfect and there’s nothing I would change about it: this series is one of those top 10 series in my eyes. And she knew what she was doing when she saved “The Consequence” for last. It was the BEST book to finish off the whole series.

Next, this book should come with caution tape wrapped around it. It’s a trigger warning’s dream read! With that said, please check the trigger warnings because there’s a TON. It’s one of the more darker reads I read this year and it was delicious! But I know it can trigger others just as much.

My thoughts:
I got a LOT to say about Zepphora so sorry for the mile long review.

This book put me through the craziest emotional rollercoaster in “smut” land. Her writing style was incredible for such a dark read. She didn’t lose focus when writing this series. The Consequence reminds me of that really insane adrenaline rush ride at the fair. When you think it’s going to calm down, there’s Zepphora giving you whiplash by maneuvering the ride to twist and turn in a million directions. I’m pretty sure my neck broke at a point in the story with the amount of plot twists in this book. Next, she’s a THICKUM, so don’t try and binge it. This is one of those books that you need to go slow and really take your time to be indulged fully into the storyline. The spice in this was a 10/10. Let me just say, this book needed no appetizers to tease you with. Zepphora gives you the appetizer, the full course meal and the dessert in the spice department. She got my first impression rose with the spice in this bad boy! The whole story was incredible, but the series is a masterpiece! This is the next series that will be in my personal collection FOR SURE. Thank you Zepphora for setting the bar high and taking this series to infinity and beyond! I can’t wait to read every single book you’ve read, you have a forever fan!

"Yeah, always. I'm with you. Always"
I slowly shake my head. "Not always. Always is too temporary. Forever."
He softly chuckles and his eyes light up. "You're going to constantly come up with that rebuttal."
"Forever never ends, not even when you die."
He slowly nods. "Okay, then. Forever...I'm with you. Forever."

Bethany Mercer has agreed to be wed to Michael Gray to protect the present and future Bastards of Grove Hill, including her two soulmates - Nigel O'Reilly and Oliver Doyle. Due to a vehicle accident with Martin Gray, the eldest Gray son, Bethany signs a contract with Nolan Gray, Martin and Michael's father, to release Nigel O'Reilly from jail, free of charges, and the lives of the current Bastards and future Bastards will not be touched by law enforcement as long as Bethany keeps up her end of the contract - marry Michael Gray for a total of twelve years and produce an heir within two years. Sounds simple, right? Actually, it's far from simple. Nolan Gray is the epitome of the Devil walking earthside. He is corrupted by greed and power. He's passed these disturbing personality traits onto his sons. Beth may be Michael's wife, but she's also Martin's...and Nolan's. Yeah, that's just how disturbing the Gray family is. Don't even get me started on the fact that Nolan is...married, to Cora Gray, who is pretty damn complacent in the events occurring inside her home. Unfortunately, Cora, like Beth, is also a victim of the Gray family. Sadly, Cora and Beth are not the Gray family's only victims - inside and outside the family. All of this sadistic story comes to light when Beth returns to Grove Hill on Francine's, her daughter, eighteenth birthday.

Nigel O'Reilly is Beth's ex-fiancee. He's the man whom Beth was scared to give her heart to but fell for all the same. Nigel is one man who doesn't know what he has in Beth until it's gone. He's angry. He's set on revenge. He's dangerous. He's possessive. He's jealous. He's all these things, and he has no clue that he has no reason to feel like this...if he'd only listened to Beth when she tried telling him why she had to marry Michael Gray. Instead, he sits for almost 20 years and stews on his negative feelings for Beth, eventually taking them out on her when she returns to Grove Hill on her daughter's eighteenth birthday. Nigel eventually has to come to terms that he's the only one who hasn't paid a debt in Grove Hill. Beth and Oliver and Judy and Ronan and Aymee - and their 4 children - have all paid debts due to the contract drawn up between Beth and Nolan Gray. Nigel has lived a pretty decent life, minus his groveling in his feelings, due to what his friends and family have given up for him.

You will not understand The Consequence if you haven't began at the beginning of the Bastards of Grove Hill series with Reckless (Francine and Finn), Careless (Sorcha and Rian), Restless (Francine and Finn), The Catalyst (Beth and Nigel and Ollie), The Contusion (Beth and Ollie and Nigel), and FINALLY, The Consequence (Beth and Nigel). All of the questions you've been asking yourself since the beginning of the series, because you will have questions about the parents while reading the children's stories, will be answered by the end of The Consequence - minus a select few that will be answered in the first and second books of the children's. With that said, Zepphora can write one hell of an entwined story that expands almost two decades. She can make you fall in love with a fictional character. She can make you despise a fictional character. She can make you cry and laugh and be in awe of a love story filled with so much heartbreak, despair, and loss. She can have you feeling the words written on the page. You can imagine you're in the room with the characters. There's not one emotion you won't have reading this series, especially in The Consequence. You will scream. You will cry. You will squeeze your thighs together because the spice is just THAT detailed. You will be nauseous because Nolan Gray is a disgusting human being and so is anyone who is loyal to him. You will cheer for the main characters when things finally start going in their favor and life starts turning around for the better. You will LIVE for Grove Hill.

I actually prefer Beth, Nigel, and Ollie's story to the first three books. That's not saying I don't love the first three books because I absolutely do, but there is something about these three main characters that I just absolutely love and am completely addicted to their story. Zepphora could write about these three until their deaths, and I'd read every single book and grieve their loss. I wasn't lying when I said Z can write.

Make sure you have the following when you sit down to read this book - she's a thick book, 600+ pages - grab a few drinks, a big box of tissues, puppy pads (wink, wink), and your favorite toy. Trust me you'll need everything.

Love triangle full on roller coaster

Yeah, always. I'm with you. Always"
I slowly shake my head. "Not always. Always is too temporary. Forever."

The story continues with Beth, Nigel, and Oliver, and it's well worth it.
All of the questions you've been asking yourself since the beginning of the series, because you will have questions about the parents while reading the children's stories, will be answered by the end of The Consequence - minus a select few that will be answered in the first and second books of the children's.

You WILL cry, I promise. You will even probably wanna throw stuff. That is for sure.
BUT The twists and turns in this book.
This was the perfect ending to the trilogy. It was a bumpy road but I love how real it was the characters. Things didn’t magically get solved, the characters had to work for their ending but it was worth every second of it.

The writing was fantastic and the ending was perfect.

Marrying Michael Gray was the worst mistake of my life and the quality of said life went downhill from there. My past and my world has been built off secrets and I fear my biggest one will be the thing that completely breaks my daughter. All of the horrors of my past are chasing me and I can feel the dark presence coming. I don't know if I'll survive it's arrival. All I know is that I need to protect my family. A lioness protects her cubs and mine are in trouble.

This book was so good. It was realistic with Beth, Ollie, and Nigel and everything that they must go through to get where they are. This was such a rollercoaster it plays at your emotions in a good way. This is not a standalone, you must read the others before this because then it will not make sense. As soon as you get comfortable a twist is thrown in the mix. It is well written, and the characters are easy to connect with. There is spice but before all please read the TW. This book answers all the questions that one had from all the previous books.

If you have not dived into any of Zepphora's work, this entire series is a huge must-read! I do have to say that she absolutely knew what she was doing when she saved this book for last to finish off an amazing book series.

However, this book should come with some caution tape wrapped around it for sure. It is every trigger warning's dream come true read! Please make sure to check these trigger warnings because they are A LOT of them!

This book was very realistic with Beth, Ollie, and Nigel with everything they must go through to get to where they are. This book put me through such a crazy emotional rollercoaster. Just when you think that everything is calming down, Oh no it definitely is not because here comes Zepphora giving you some good ole whiplash. The plot twist in this book had me all over the place lol. The spice in this book is a 10/10 for sure.

Make sure to read the other books in this series before reading this one otherwise, this book will not make any sense.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭Oh my god Zepphora you have literally broken me. I have never ever cried so much while reading a book in all of my natural born life. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. One that had people around me questioning my sanity. My little dogs stared at me the whole time I was reading this book. Just waiting for the moment I gasped and i didn’t disappoint them. I would love to rate this book a 10 if I could but the star system won’t allow
It. But this book is a ten to me!!!! This one was a home run!!!

OH MY GOD. This book had me crying, mad, laughing… just all the feelings. There were a lot of questions answered and I feel like a lot of the pieces of prior books were finally fitting into a puzzle. I feel like wrap up books can easily feel rushed and anticlimactic but this one keeps me reading. Zepphora did such an excellent job with it and I highly recommended this series to everyone but warning.. you’re going to get your heart ripped out repeatedly (and have mended each time) ❤️

Oh my god! This book had to top the cake of most crazy in the series and it took me on such a roller coaster ride that I didn’t know what to feel. I cannot believe all that happened in the past and present throughout the whole story! I loved finding out all of the things that came out with this story and I really hope that this was not the end of the road with this story because I need so much more of all of these characters!

This book has it all the twists, the turns , the spicy, the ability to reach emotions you didn’t know you possessed. This is the 6th book in the series and I loved every minute of this emotional rollercoaster that would sent my kindle flying. Have the Kleenex handy, have a case in your kindle, and please read all trigger warnings. Enjoy the ride if you have all of those.

This is a fantastic book! It is book 6 in the Bastards of Grove Hill Series, and you need to read the previous 5 books to know what's going on. This book is a roller coaster of emotions that will have you crying, screaming, and, eventually, smiling. There is an entire shopping list that you need to read and be aware of. I loved it, and I definitely recommend this book and series!

My oh my! This book took me for a ride! It has all the feels. I was happy, sad, mad, shocked! I loved this book! It was my favorite so far. We learn so many answers to the questions we had from the previous books and many will absolutely shock you because it’s not what you were thinking. The character growth was great and very relatable in so many ways. Zepphora knocked it out of the park with this one!

Zepphora is not new to me. Neither is the genre. Her intrinsic writing and storytelling will compel you to read her previous books, and this one will not disappoint.

This story will reel you, it will contort your mind to the point you will become obsessed, that when you reach the end, you will demand more because it was not enough to sate your mind.

Be prepared to be taken on an emotional roller coaster. This book is that good it will make you feel all the feels to the point that it will make you cry. When you read this book, please head the content and trigger warnings, do not take them lightly, and your mental health matters.

Highly recommend both the author and the book.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

OMG.. this book broke me! I cried so much I got worried about being extra emotional and took a pregnancy test to make sure lmao.. no but seriously though everyone should read this whole series. You’ll be lost if you just start with this one. I love Ollie and I’m so glad they all finally got to have their HEA, they deserved it plus so much more after all the shit they went through all because they loved each other. Then there’s that chapter at the end, I knew it was coming but it still had me in tears. Zepphora never disappoints with her writing!
