Not so newly dead Bridget Sway is making a difference. Sort of.
She and her best friend, Sabrina, are solving murders all over the show while minding their own business. And then Detective Johnson shows up at their office and drops a missing person’s case in their lap.
Although deeply suspicious of his motives, they decide it would be wise to at least give it a cursory investigation. Forewarned is forearmed, after all.
And that’s when things get messy.
With Oz is keeping secrets, little to no information to go on and practically no suspects, can Bridget and Sabrina solve their case and stay on the right side of the law for once?

I was fourteen when I attempted to write my first novel. Half finished, riddled with spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and printed in pink ink, I gave it to my English teacher and asked her for feedback. A month later she handed it back to me and told me it was "good" without having read it.
How did I know she hadn't read it? The story was about an assassin for hire who disposed of her "kills" in her bathtub by dissolving their remains in sulphuric acid. I'm pretty sure if she had read it, one heck of a letter would have been sent home. I look back at this now and can see that the pink ink and poor spelling were the least of my problems.
With the lack of constructive criticism from my English teacher, I placed my novel writing on hold. I dallied mainly with typical teenage, angst-ridden poetry until several years later, on a romantic whim, I turned a boy I knew into a superhero, literarily (not literally) speaking. Because I'm super awesome, I included some of his friends and chronicled their superhero adventures as a birthday present to him.
My relationship with the superhero version of the boy lasted the completion of a dozen short stories. My relationship with the real life boy didn't. And I was writing pretty dang quick too!
There were a couple more plot twists but since they don't involve radioactive spiders, magical wardrobes or handsome Tolkien-esque elves they're not really worth talking about! So that's pretty much the yellow brick road to how I got here.
One of my favorite series! I'm so glad to have some of my favorite book characters back. This would have been 5 stars, but there was so much round and round discussion about who the killer was that it was a little bit tedious at times, but other than that, I was happy to be back in the Afterlife with my fave ghosts.
4.5 stars Another utterly delightful laugh out loud adventure in the afterlife with Bridget & Sabrina. This time they are looking into whether Oz's recently released and re-educated brother is guilty of murdering a witness responsible for getting him convicted in the first place and whether he was guilty at all.
JS Robinson always creates a fun read. I always look forward to reading her new books. However, I’d have enjoyed this book more if there weren’t so many discussions about who could’ve been the murderer - I felt I needed a murder board to track all of the potentials. Having Oz’s brother, Zac, introduced is an interesting new character. Hope Zac’s character is developed further in future books.
Around and around in circles we go. Lost. That’s what Bridget and Sabrina are. They’re completely lost with this new investigation, and that’s not a wholly new thing. It felt like more circles than usual. But it certainly took directions I was not expecting. Still absolutely enamored with this series.
