This book gave me life. Candy was a bad b**** for sure. A Madame girl yes she was. I can’t believe her mother. The audacity of her period. Loved the way she described the characters and scenes I felt like it was a movie and I just had my popcorn waiting for the tea honey okay. Loved the storyline. I was so sad about the ending. The one thing I loved was the moral of the story. Be careful how you play the hand that’s dealt to you in life because karma is crazy. Great job author shaquoya johnson. Can’t wait for the next read.
I admire Candy’s resilience and determination even with the cards she was given in life. She tried giving her dedication to the wrong people though, not thinking they’d wrong her and want their own revenge. I feel sorry that she never got closure with her mom but it is what it is. Even taking an L she still won & let people know even though her name was Candy, wasn’t ish sweet
First let me say there’s a bit of trauma through out this book so I found myself taking breaks reading this. It was good but be advised it took awhile for Candy to get her revenge.
What can I say Shaw you a you have done it again. The secrets that came out just blew my mind, how can someone be so devious and filled with so much hate do that to their own family all because they couldn't control their nasty urges, and the love for a man that never wanted them. It's sad that Candy never really got the chance to know her father, or clean mother, or even the one man that loved her Blaze. The things her grandfather did to her and then her aunt was crazy but they all got what they deserved,. Great story.
I enjoyed this read! It was riveting and enthralling! I understand Candy’s revenge and the way she handled things! But as far as Boss Lady, she was over the top, just to seek revenge because s guy didn’t want you! That was taking things too far ! Love sure is a powerful emotion! Especially if it’s unrequited!
I went to sleep reading this and woke up to finish it. I love how you intertwined characters from your other works to give it a familiar feel. Loved it. 12/10❣️
I absolutely loved this I was really surprised that characters from your first. Book showed up but it was a welcomed surprise this was a roller coaster ride and I loved every word
Omg the trauma and abuse in this book. Candy went through hell from the beginning. People say keep your friends close and your enemies closer but damn, her enemies were right under her nose. I felt so bad for her. That was definitely not the lifestyle for her.
Candy was dealt a bad hand, but she played it well. Her rise to the top was met with good times as well as bad times. It’s a shame she didn’t get her closure from her mom.
She draws you into the world of chaos, and distrust yet balanced by a longing heart. It's Candy's world.
Although urban fiction is not something I read, simply because it is extremely difficult for me to connect with, I viewed this reading journey as an unfamiliar world to be discovered.
Thank you for this opportunity to explore something new.
