Asher and Harper

This was a fun and slow burn romance. Asher is Josh’s childhood best friend and Harper has always had a crush on him. But her brother warned him not to date his little sister.
Time goes by and Harper finds herself in big trouble and calls her brother but gorgeous Asher comes for her. She ends up temporarily living with him because of circumstances.
Asher always wanted her but out of respect for her brother he never tried anything with her. Things change between them and they confess their love for each other!
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by her.

It's the fifth book in the Ruthless Billionaires series, and can be read as a standalone with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. This is Asher and Harper's story which is told from a dual point of view. A beautifully written story with broken individuals and a twisty and complex storyline that captures the reader attention from the first chapter and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat and turning the pages. Wow is all that I can say about this book and this series. The characters amazing and the emotions are real and raw. Great story with amazing twists that keeps you wanting more. Every book in the series has been engaging! Once you start reading them you can not put them down. A romantic and sizzling hot read. This novel is quite emotive and the way these two broken souls come together is exquisitely portrayed.

His mind has been screw up since he found Harper waiting in his bed naked on her eighteenth birthday and he rejected her because of Josh and she flee and got into accident and having amnesia. It is down to four days from his dad's deadline and Layla is assistant as came up with a great idea where he could fake date Harper to get his dad off his back plus give her the assistant PR job.

With the loan shark breathing down her neck for his money, Harper left UCLA to Massachusetts get a job to pay back the debt unbeknowing to her brother who thought that she was in Europe on her internship. She got sent jail for burning her landlords car after he evicted her without notice and put her things on the street, stole her mother's wedding ring and laptop.
She didn't want her brother to know because she didn't want to disappoint him but didn't have a choice in the matter of getting out of jail. Instead of her brother Harper came face-to-face with the last person that she wanted to see her brother's best friend Asher who she hadn't seen in three years and the man who she has had a crush on since she was ten years old. Her brother couldn't make it and sent his best friend Asher instead. Harper couldn't have pull her rebellion at the worst time Josh is up next week and he just confirmed his new position. He's being deployed on a submarine mission for the next nine months. Because he will be out of the country for nine months he ask Asher for a favor for Harper to stay with him for a few months. She was turn down for housing at NYU and there was nothing near campus that won't cost him his entire salary. Asher know that Harper living with him would be trouble because he has been in love with her forever. But Josh told him that he wasn't good enough for her and warned him away from his sister. Harper only agreed to to live with Asher because she was running from the loan shark Vito which Asher is unaware of. Although he gives her the it won't be enough be pay off Vito in time.
Harper's friend Beth told her that she could get her a job at Dark Odyssey a sex club as a waitress for high clientele to help her pay off the hundred thousand dollar debt that she has because of Nick. But the plot twist is she would have to do it topless and give lap dances. When Asher found out that she was working at a sex club he was livid and went to get her. He made an agreement with her that he would pay off all her debt and she would help him with his little marriage problem with his dad. When Harper agrees to be his fake girlfriend she allows him some breathing room to focus on Nigel and Nolan Fairchild who has some nefarious intention towards the Le Blanche Global empire. As the two play their games on their family it wasn't really fake because of their long time love for each other. Harper evolved once she got what she wanted and finally stopped putting herself in unnecessary trouble. Asher's parents had always loved and adored Harper and viewed her as a daughter so they were happy to know that Asher had chosen her to be his wife. But what happens when Josh finds out that Asher is messing with his sister? Will he loses his shit? And will their friendship dissolve? Will Asher stand up to Josh for the woman he had always love and show him that he's worthy? What will happen when his parents finds out that it is all a rouse to get out of the marriage? Will they get their HEA

Yup, thought this was a best friends sister romance but its a, very inappropriate groomance.

Seriously.

Pretend all you want like its natural to pervert on a minor, when you are in your mid-20s.

You Unseen, Unloved and Unfucked Pick Mes, needing to fantasise about two people at two very different stages of life, who shouldn't be relating to one another.

But, this is the Patriarchy.

He gets all hos toxic choices nuanced by default.

The Patriarchial Pick Mes stumble over the chance to save him his toxic choices because they believe it reflects and hard life.

It doesn't.

Those that have had a hard life don't tend to get to exercise the impulse of externalising their desires.

No, toxic impulses are a reflection of privilege, not pain, but the coloniser tribes of the world need to relate to the oppressed.

Its kinda sad how the untraumatised fetishise ableist myths about trauma.

And the memory loss was hilarious too because thats not how that shit works either.

Green Pilled Patriarchial Parable of Toxicity.

I’ve been waiting for this one to come out for a while. I feel like it’s been a long time since I last read a book from this series. I could tell too because I couldn’t remember who was who and where Asher fell into this world. I couldn’t remember if he was part of the brothers in the start of this series or if this was a whole other company. Something tells me he was part of the brothers but I can’t remember him. Anyway, it took me some time to catch up to this world and once I did it came back to me for the most part. The plot isn’t anything new, it was pretty much the same premise as the last book. Asher has to find a wife before he gets his part of the company and he goes through the motions like Hunter did, except instead of going after a woman who was kind of seeing someone, he delays the process by avoiding using Harper as his choice and instead subjects himself to dating other women to find a suitable wife. My problem this time wasn’t with the heroine but with the hero. I get why Harper hid her troubles from her brother and Asher. However, her idea to make it seem like she was ok and doing well despite everything she was dealing with was a lot and she shouldn’t have had to carry all that with her and not ask for help. I also felt for her after Asher kept rejecting her out of respect for her brother. He was the one that annoyed me in this aspect and the fact that both Asher and Harper let their facade go on for as long as it did in the book was annoying though it was more Asher. All Harper was doing was going with the flow, being herself while also allowing herself to be in the moment with him. She was relishing acting like they were together even though all her actions were real. Asher did the same but he tended to hold back more. There was unnecessary drama in the book that I felt didn’t need to be in it because all it did was throw us as the readers off so it wasn’t so “happily ever after.” The extra thing with members in the business didn’t need to happen, especially after it was taken care of. This just served as no purpose except to add a shock factor so we wouldn’t count them out and think it was an easy escape from them. The fight between Harper’s brother and Asher did need to happen though because of the nature of the book and to stick with the forbidden aspect and best friend’s brother’s sister theme. It’s needed as an ah ha moment and reason to fight to hold onto that deeper love and feeling of choosing family or the person you fall in love with. One thing I’ve noticed with these billionaire’s in this series is that while most of them didn’t like the idea of settling down or marriage, all it takes is that one person to make them feel something deeper. Once this happens, all bets are off and they become this vulnerable, sweet and tender person. Their walls go down and they will do anything for them. If this is the end of this series, it ended on a good note. I feel like I got my share of this series and am happy with the outcome. I just wish this book didn’t get to the relationship aspect until 70% in the book. It wasn’t a full slow burn but enough to have me urging this along because once I hit this part of the book, it’s like it went by so quickly compared to the first part. I not only felt like it was moving slowly, but also wasn’t enjoying how long it took for Asher and Harper to finally physically be with each other. Combine this with Asher’s stubbornness and you get a 4 rating from me.

Book Review: Ruthless Heir by: Faith Summers

This is my first book by Faith and it will not be my last it was so good! And now I want to go back to the other books and read them. I’m not ready to leave this world one of my favorites is fake dating and billionaire romances! This book checks all the boxes! I loved how the book began with Harper at the bottom of the barrel and no where but up to go. Well it takes a lot of bumps and miscommunication between the two MMCs but it’s worth it! The author did a wonderful job unfolding the story and allowing the pining and angst to build up.

Asher is the chefs kiss of an MMC he is loyal, and sacrifices for those around him! He is also a toasty marshmallow. Harper is sweet and spunky just trying to stand on her own two feet and change her circumstances for the better. She has a big heart and just wants to share it even if it terrifies her

What starts out as a simple arrangement forces these two to admit what is between them. The passion, chemistry, and connection between them is perfect and you can see how perfect they are for each other and you can’t help but hope they get out of their own ways.

Asher Le Blanc had always had a thing for his best friend’s sister but when eighteen-year-old Harper threw herself at him, loyalty to his friend made him reject her leading to tragic consequences that he’s felt guilty about ever since. Now six years later Harper’s life is the kind of nightmare soap operas are made of including loan sharks and convict boyfriends. When her latest escapade sees her end up in jail, Asher the last man she ever wanted to see again arrives to bail her out and, with nowhere else to go, she ends up staying with him.

If you’re a fan of billionaire romances revolving around fake relationships and hints of the forbidden, then you won’t go far wrong with Ruthless Heir. The story was well written and fast paced and the characters engaging with plenty of chemistry between them. Some angst was provided by Asher, torn between his desire for Harper and a promise to her brother. I did feel Harper started out a bit juvenile, making rash decisions which people then made excuses for, but she did mature through the story and try to solve her own problems. As for Asher, your loyalty to your best friend is misplaced and one sided. He doesn’t even seem to like you very much!

Josh, Asher’s best friend has a younger sister, Harper who attempted and failed to seduce Asher runs away ends up in an accident that caused her memory loss and serious injuries. Several years later after a ex destroys her life she finds herself in debt to a loan shark who threatens her life. Then finds herself in jail only to be bailed out by Asher. With no where to live when college starts Josh has Asher offer his place to Harper and once these two start living together they start to see each other differently. Asher has to juggle under covering the threat to their business, find a wife and keep his hands off Harper. Slowly these two find common attraction while Asher pays her loan with an agreement to protect Harper and she agrees to be his girlfriend. These two have to navigate deceit, power, secrets, fear of failure when others make decisions for them. When trouble comes for Harper, Asher does what’s necessary to protect Harper and when their own secret is found out how Josh, Asher and Harper deal with the fallout!

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Asher Le Blanche is an heir to multibillion dollar empire. He has a best friend, who has a little sister, Harper. He warned him away from her because he’s a playboy.

Three years ago Harper made a mistake of trying make Asher see her in a new light and got rejected. Now, she made another mistake and he is baiwd her out of a county jail.

Harper is denied campus housing and her brother asks Asher if she can leave with him. Everything would be great if Asher hadn’t had a scandal with an actress and in need of a fake girlfriend. She agrees to fake date him and they begin their charade.

But soon everything feels all too real and feeling start to grow. I loved their chemistry and passion between. They were made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a fake relationship, brother’s best friend, forced proximity, billionaire romance then you’re going to love it.

Crushing Over Asher

The final story in this series & wow is this an amazing story to read! Harper is young & naïve when she falls for a crook which lands her in hot water with a loan shark. Trouble is her middle name as her brother keeps bailing her out of each predicament she lands in. When she lands in jail, Asher pays for her bail & takes her to his place. Her luck is about to turn while under his care. Once he finds out there’s a loan shark after her, he pays off her debt but there’s a catch for repayment. The suspense & drama escalates in this story where Asher’s business & Harper’s past collide, leaving them in a dangerous situation. This is definitely a page-turning, hot & spicy romance thrown in, & when the dust has cleared after the fall-out, is there any chance for a HEA for Asher & Harper? One thing is for certain – if you haven’t read this one yet or want to be introduced to Faith Summers’ suspenseful romance novels, this better be your next read!

Harper was crazy fun! I really enjoyed her & I loved how she could be snarky & cocky one second & then show her vulnerability the next. She loved Asher like something fierce for years. Years earlier she got her heart broken by him when he put his loyalty to her brother first. Now years later she’s willing to put her heart on the line again & risk getting it broken again by him.
I loved Asher, but man did I want to throttle him. I loved the loyalty he had to Josh, but it was frustrating as hell to see how much he wanted Harper & kept denying it. I just wanted them both to say screw Josh, & do what was best for them.
As always Faith NEVER disappoints w/her writing. Everything was absolutely perfect- the storyline, characters, the angst, drama, & the really steamy scenes- everything was perfect! Asher & Harper were explosive together & their chemistry was intense. I can’t wait to see what Faith delivers next!

This is the fifth book in this impressive series, and this is Asher and Harper’s story.
Harper is fun yet vulnerable, and she has loved her older brother’s best friend for a long time, and after trying to get his attention 3-years ago, and being rejected, her heart was broken. Asher is a playboy and heir of a multibillion dollar empire, and after a scandal, he needs a fake relationship to stop her father arranging a marriage for him. Harper in convivence by her brother to agree to fake date Asher for 3-months, to get his father off his back.
This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, engaging and realistic characters, scandals, fake relationships, secrets, forced proximity, angst, drama, loyalty, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and captivating billionaire romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is the last book in the Ruthless Billionaire Series and this one focuses on Asher. Asher has to be married before he can be appointed the CFO of his family’s company and after getting out of his arranged marriage he has had plenty of time to find a new prospect but he hasn’t be able to. Running out of time before his father chooses someone he can’t stand, he decides to ask his new temporary roommate and his best friend’s little sister, Harper, to pose has his fake girlfriend to give him more time to decide. While faking, Harper cannot keep her long hidden feelings for him from growing and Asher discovers that Harper is who he really wants.

My explanation is probably about 1/4th of the storyline of this book. There is also some corporate espionage, a dangerous loan shark, some amnesia, and a questionable job choice at a $ex club…. If you are like me and all that sounds like an interesting read, you would be right. Ruthless Heir was a wild ride and a great read. It has just the right amount of angst, plenty of drama, and you get to see a HEA for a side character from a previous novel. I loved this book, great read.

Harper has had a crush on Asher since she was little and when he didn’t reciprocate, she ran off to college and the mistakes started happening! Bad boyfriend, running from a loan shark, and jail for torching her landlord’s car. Asher goes to bail her out, and Harper’s actions are those of someone who is immature, and her behavior was enabled by her brother. Asher agrees to help Harper with the loan shark, if she agrees to be his fake girlfriend for 3 months to give him time to find a wife. But what happens when lines are crossed, feelings become real, and Josh finds out about his best friend and sister?

This book has it all – a dangerous loan shark, amnesia, a questionable job choice at a $ex club, and corporate espionage.

Vijfde boek in deze serie, dit keer over Asher. Zijn verhaal begon al in de andere boeken. Net als alle andere mannelijke hoofdpersonen in deze serie spreekt Asher me aan. Ondanks dat hij zakelijk meedogenloos is, heeft hij iets. Helemaal als hij gaat voor de vrouw van wie hij houdt.
Harper kent hij al heel lang en probeert hij te ontwijken vanwege zijn gevoelens voor haar, maar daarnaast zijn belofte aan haar broer zijn beste vriend.
Maar diezelfde broer brengt ze nu samen, omdat Harper hulp nodig heeft en hij er niet voor haar kan zijn. Als blijkt dat ze nog meer hulp nodig heeft dan Asher eerst dacht, betrekt hij haar in zijn plan om meer tijd te krijgen om de vrouw te vinden waarmee hij gaat trouwen. Maar terwijl ze doen alsof wordt het steeds moeilijker om op zoek te gaan naar die vrouw, want Harper voldoet al aan alles.
Harper zelf is een sterke vrouw, ondanks alle tegenslagen die op haar pad zijn gekomen en nog steeds komen.

4.5 Stars!! Harper acts before she thinks thus, she needs to be bailed out of jail for her actions. Her brother is away so he asks his best friend to go and get her. Harper has always had a crush on Archer and is thoroughly embarrassed when he is the one to bail her out and pay off her landlord not to press charges. Then her brother tells her that she needs to go live with Asher since he will be deploying for 9 months. Asher is not thrilled with the idea of Harper staying with him but will do anything for his best friend. He also has his own issues he is dealing with from his grandfather's will. There is lots going on with this story and Harper can grate on your nerves a bit, but I thought it was enjoyable read. Some good steam between the two main characters.

Harper is a musician who was in a car accident years ago where she lost 6 years of her memory. One memory she does retain is her trying to seduce her older brother’s best friend that she’s loved for years and being denied. The last few years she’s been in disastrous relationships and has one bad thing after another happen to her.

Asher has always had feelings for his best friend’s little sister. The night she shows up in his bed he has to push her away to save his friendship.
Now years later he gets a phone call to come bail Harper out of jail. He agrees to let her stay with him but doesn’t realize how hard it’s going to be to keep things platonic.

Great banter, a steamy storyline, and throw in a little kidnapping too. I really enjoyed it!

Harper has been struggling a lot in her life because of her bad choices. The last one happens and has her face to face with her childhood crush Asher. He ends up helping her and when her brother his best friend asks if she can stay with him while going to school, he reluctantly agrees. However, when he needs help he turns to Harper and asks if she'll pretend to be with him. She agrees and its not long before things get very real between them. Harper has been keeping some secrets that could cause some problems between them. Will Asher find out before its too late to help her? Can they finally be together?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Asher agrees to help Harper if she will fake date him for three months. Harper agrees but things begin to feel real. Will Asher develop feelings for Harper? Will Harper’s feelings manifest themselves? Will Asher and Harper find love and happiness?

I loved Asher and Harper so much. This was a wonderfully unique fake dating story where there's some unrequited love, memory loss, best friend's little sister and marriage of convenience involved. It was a smattering of tropes that came together so well and I absolutely loved it. We also got a little bit of suspense with Harper's money issues and her past, which kept things interesting.

I thought the Josh storyline was a little over the top, but that could be because this just happened to be my third brother's best friend book in a row and I'm tired of those donkey hats and their misogyny and believing their friends can't change over half a decade or so.

The epilogue was super cute. I couldn't get enough of these two together. So stinking cute and spicy and everything.

Asher and Harper. Hes most desired bachlor and a heart of, wait, no heart. Her brothers best friend. Shes loved him since she was twelve. She made a pass at him. He turned her down. He bails her out of jail. Cant get housing on campus. Shes staying with Asher per her brothers request. She borrowed from a loan shark who is after her. He makes her a deal. Fake date and he'll pay the loan. He needs a wife to be CEO. He hasnt decided who so fake date him for more time to decide who he wants to marry and he'll pay the loan. Rollercoaster of chaos and emotions and danger and secondary charecters bringing the turmoul. Loved it great read.

In this book we meet Harper St. Johns & Asher Le Blanche. Harper can't believe how many problems she has run into ever since she met up with her ex-boyfriend. The biggest problem she has is how not only does she feel that she let her brother down the one man she hoped she wouldn't see again she does for her next mistake. Asher has never forgotten Harper or believed that he is part of the reason she has had this string of problems. Now though he needs her to help him out or at least that is what he keeps telling himself. Can they find their HEA or will her brother and his best friend make sure that never happens?

Another amazing story in this series. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

One of my favorite authors does it again. Who doesn’t love a good book about the Le Blanche men and what they go through to be part of their families legacy? Well I can tell you Asher is no different. He wants to be CFO so bad that he has his brother, cousin and assistant looking into wives for him but will he find the right one. I’m going to tell you NO because the only woman that is right for him is Harper St John who happens to be his best friend’s sister. The chemistry and history between these two is fabulous and makes the story that much more intriguing. Absolutely loved it. #badboyupdate

Harper was once again in trouble and needed to be bailed out. With her brother deployed for the next few months. She was stuck with his best friend until she can get back on her feet. It has been years but her crush on his best friend never went away. While Asher needed to fulfill his grandfather's requirement in order to gain his role in the company and with Harper staying woth him, it was a perfect opportunity. In the beginning, it was hard to connect with Harper but it got better as the story progressed. It was a cute story and the last story of the series.

“Ruthless Heir” is a billionaire/age gap/brother’s best friend romance featuring Asher Le Blanche and Harper St. John as the two main POV characters.

Asher and Harper had a lot to work through, and by a lot, I really do mean a lot. Asher rejected Harper once in the past, and her older brother Josh has warned him away from her more than once.

Despite all of this, they couldn’t make themselves stay away from each other once they were living together (it’s complicated, but think lots of forced proximity based tension).

To sum this up, I think if you like the brother’s best friend trope or dark billionaire romance reads, you should give Asher and Harper’s story a chance!

Secret Troubles

Asher and Harper have known each other for a long time but the feelings she harbors toward him are hostile due to his rejection of her years before. Unfortunately, a set of events leads to a life full of burden stemmed from bad decisions that she has hid from her brother. The escalation of trouble for Harper and a stipulation by Asher's family has forced them together into a steamy explosion waiting to combust. This was such an exciting and fun read. I really enjoyed how everything worked out in the end.

I absolutely loved reading this book I was sucked in and it wouldn't let go until the very end, the story was exciting and well developed. The characters Asher and Harper were a great team, this was a second chance but when the billionaire Asher picks ups up Harper from jail and then pays all her debts. Harper had a crush on him when she was younger and now she will keep telling herself that. Action, betrayal, secrets, lies, kidnapping, greed, tension, surprises, lust, passion, and maybe even love.
