Maddy Mara is the pen name of Melbourne-based creative duo Hilary Rogers and Meredith Badger. Hilary and Meredith have been collaborating on children's books for nearly two decades. Hilary is an author and former publishing director; Meredith is the author of countless books for kids and young adults, and teaches English as a foreign language. Maddy Mara is the melding of their respective daughters' names.

Read this to a very smart three year old yesterday. We both enjoyed it and pretended to be fire dragons afterwards :)

My daughter just absolutely these books! I appreciated the story line and admired Eloise’s growth as a character. I love the strong messages of female friendship and leadership, trusting oneself, and overcoming worries. It’s easily digestible for my 8 year old and she looks forward to meeting the questies every book.

Took a while for my daughter and I to finish this one due to her and daddy reading their chapter book more. But we finished it! And we’re excited to read the next book in this series. Very fun for her age bracket. We love dragons and this one was great for learning to face our fears and that we’re more capable than we know.

My 7 year old son usually likes these books but I think he’s getting sick of it being the same formula every book. It just doesn’t keep his attention like it used to. I think this our last dragon girls book but he liked them while it lasted.
