I recently had the privilege of participating in a Bible study on the Book of Acts by Max Lucado, and it was an incredibly enriching experience. Our group of women gathered regularly to delve into the lessons, and each session offered profound insights that deepened our understanding of Scripture.

Max Lucado's thoughtful approach made the complex narratives and teachings in Acts more accessible and relatable. His ability to weave historical context with practical life applications allowed us to see how the early church's journey mirrors many of our own faith experiences today. The study prompted meaningful discussions among us, fostering not only spiritual growth but also a stronger bond within our group.

We learned so much—not just about the events in Acts, but about how to live out our faith boldly and with purpose. The questions and reflections encouraged personal introspection and group sharing, which made each session impactful.

I highly recommend this Bible study to anyone seeking to grow in their faith, understand the early church's history, and connect deeply with others on a spiritual journey. It was truly a transformative experience for all of us.

The study kept me interacting with the Book of Acts, but was not terribly informative. Answers to the questions were quite obvious, not requiring me to think deeply about or dig heavily into the text. I prefer studies that are more academic… they teach me about geography, culture, history, language. This one just helped me know the story in the Book.

I did appreciate the opportunities to personally reflect on my life as it relates to the text and think it would be a good study for either new Christians or those just beginning to study the Bible. It doesn’t require the amount of work required by authors such as by Beth Moore.

I also do not like when studies include all necessary text. I believe there is power in having to pick up your Bible and read from it directly.

I used the formula of Pull out Questions and Prayer instead of answering questions. Pull out is what words or phrases stick out to you.Question is how are you relating to thecPO.Prayer is in response to your questions.Example using the story of David's daughter Tamara.PO brother, trust, helping a sibling when asked.Questions does my brother know I love and appreciate him? Have I broken his trust? Has he broke mine? Do I help as much as I could. The prayer is based on how I would answer these questions.

While there were a few descent questions in this book and I used some of the material in the opening portion of our Bible study, this guide did not cover the whole book of Acts and most of the questions were very light weight. I was just hoping for more.

I read this with our church Bible study group. While some of the questions seemed redundant overall we enjoyed it and were challenged to think deeper about Peter, Paul and the early church. At times the Holy Spirit lead us to act on our faith in new ways.

Great study. I was searching for insight into who the Holy Spirit really was and how he is a crucial player in our lives and I found it within the pages of Acts. Max Lucado has a great way of breaking down information and asking the right questions.

As always, this book helped reiterate why I love the book of acts. Max puts things in today's point of view so that you can see it in every day life.

Max does it again

Max shears a unique and inspiring light in Acts. We used this as one of our references in a Bible Study on Acts and it added great insights and inspiration.

This is short (twelve lesson) study of the New Testament book of the Acts of the Apostles. Each lesson begins with a reflection and a description of the situation in the reading. Then the reading follows in both the New Century Version and the New King James Version. I had never read the New Century Version before and discovered it is a very easy read.Pastor Lucado asks a series of questions about the reading, points out some life lessons, and includes a short devotional from one of his other books. Each lesson ends with a question to consider and journal. He also includes other Scripture references related to the subject of each lesson, and chapters to read in Acts to read the entire Book of Acts while going through the study. You can make this short and simple by reading the lessons only, or you can make it a much longer and more in-depth study by reading the cross-references and the chapters in Acts as well as journaling about the lesson and the thought-provoking question at the end.

I hate to give a rating this low, but this was a huge disappointment for my whole bible study group. We will not do another Lucado study as a result. There was not enough commentary that provided insight as to what was going on with these early Christians or lessons learned. Some of the commentary in each lesson was comprised of a few paragraphs from Lucados books. It was as if the publisher thought of a way to reuse Lucados books and just make a bunch of bible studies using pieces from each of them, whether they fit really well with the lesson or not. Also, almost all of the questions asked could be answered quickly, without much thought or discussion. We all felt as if we would like to redo a study on Acts because we just didn't get much out of this one.

This study guide on the Book of Acts is excellent. It could use a lot more exploration, and often the Lucado quotes are excerpts from other books he has written. Nevertheless, the overall content of Acts is so powerful and the points he makes are very solid, it is worth the read and the contemplation and study that goes with it. A big part of the book is the reading of two different translations of the Book.

This was a great devotional to deep-dive into the book of Acts! It didn’t cover every chapter but the ones it did cover, I was able to reflect on what happened and how I can apply it to my life. This devotional is geared towards a group bible study so most of the questions and prayers were talking about leading the way. This strengthened my knowledge of the Bible and my faith.

I used this book to do a series of studies in a mens small group I used to belong to. From it, I created individual handouts for all group participants.

An excellent way to explore this particular book of the Bible, and great for both small group and individual study.

One of the best Bible studies I’ve participated in. Highly recommend for a group study. Looking forward to the next life lessons study from this series.
