Into the Cloud

William Devarre was a hero once. Army ranger. Survivor of a dozen battles. Integral in the defence against the Entio invader.
Now he is little more than a war criminal. The Butcher of Montil. Captured by the enemy and tortured. Experimented on before his release at the end of the war. No one caring whether he lived or died. But when a scientist goes missing he is the only man who has any chance of finding him. The only man who can possibly bring him back alive.
Still, his masters lied have to him. Charles Wentworth was not on this world. His research area was a lot further away than that. It was hidden behind the Dust Cloud. A region of space from which nothing has ever returned. There is a whole world in there. A world like nothing anyone has ever seen. A world so vast it envelopes the system and everything within it. The inner surface teeming with life.
Devarre will have to venture inside.

I grew up in Africa, with a background in Cultural Anthropology and archaeology. Along with a side of police.
My main focus is on creating a rich, diverse universe. Endings are not always good - because that's just life, isn't it? But there might always be a hint of redemption in there somewhere.
I admit to being no good at social media. I wouldn't know what to put into a blog, and I don't presume anyone wants to hear my opinion on anything. So I don't tend to be very active either here or other platforms.
Hopefully my writing stands for itself. I understand that not everything is for everyone, but do hope people find something worthwhile in what I create. Quality is important, as I think a writer should respect the time their readers have invested in reading their work. So I do make every effort to ensure my work is of the highest standard. I do apologise for the odd typo. Oh, I'm a Brit, so I pronounce aluminium as aluminium, and not aluminium.
Sadly, I don't earn a lot from writing (that would be amazing, but unlikely!) so I must work full time. Because of this I don't write as much as I would like.
Thank you for visiting, and hope you find your time here worthwhile.
