★. I’m SO DISAPPOINTED by this book. The expectations from the tiktoks and reviews were so high. I should’ve known it wouldn’t have been good when the tiktoks were the same excerpts each time since the fmc and mmc only saw each other 3 times before reconnecting. The plot and how this man was supposed to be groveling for his wife for the whole thing. How he went years without touching someone else. How he was going to be yearning for her. THAT WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

By 30%, they had one interaction.
By 50%, they had two.
By 70%, they had three.

The whole book was inner monologue, her working, him relapsing 50 times (which is realistic yes because alcoholism is a very hard illness to recover from HOWEVER this seemed to be added in because the author didn’t know what to do), them sleeping together whenever they did see each other the full three times. And her with her friends.

Not one of those three scenes was him groveling. He never apologized for leaving her so cruelly. He just came and said “you’re my wife” and thought that was perfect. The most random time jumps. Weeks without speaking. And then TWO MONTHS because he was in rehab? Which was so random because why not START the book with him in recovery?! Why add that in 60-70% through?! And then when he comes back she’s “dead” and then they see each other again. AND ALL IS FORGIVEN AFTER ONE CONVERSATION. I kid you not. ONE CONVERSATION and they are moving states being happy.

We had one scene where he was going to court her and took her on a date. I was so excited. We got NOTHING on the date. Just them arriving and then sitting and ordering drinks. The chapter ends with him making a sexual innuendo. The next chapter is days later and it’s him WORKING. No flash back scene of that date ANYWHERE.

By 80-90%, all was forgiven and they were perfectly happy. The epilogue ends so ?????. Her pov and she’s with her friends. His is with their children and then one line to her when she gets annoyed that he calls their daughter a princess. GET A GRIP.

The blurb is incredibly misleading. This man didn’t hunt anything, but my patience. He made calls to keep the fmc and just drank. Not one ounce of hunting. And for the fmc who is a doctor, she was so dumb. How do you realize that his family is after you and that he lived in Italy beforehand. So you decide to book a trip to Italy, so you can start living your life?? They deserve each other because the idiocy is outstanding.

The plot had so much potential. The writing wasn’t even bad. It, just, nothing was executed correctly at all. 95% of this book was them separated and all inner monologue. I was tired and so annoyed.

For my safety people, safe. Both were celibate during separation. He alluded that he moved on, but never did. She goes on a date and he crashes it. Jealousy moment for him. The only time in a book I wanted other woman drama just so I could enjoy this book.

I didn’t think I could love anyone more than I love Luca, but I was wrong…very very wrong….MATTEO!!! *bites knuckles* let me love you. PLEASE!!!

This is the second instalment in the Bianchi Brothers series. While you don’t have to read Lucas story to understand this one, I do believe it helps and gives more insight into the family as a whole. Plus it was just really good book.

Matteo, AKA the Hunter…vigilante meets mafia in a way that only L.M. Fox can deliver. This man has been THROUGH IT! But he’s coming for everyone who has hurt his family. Including his despicable father. It’s not surprising they Matteo falls into addiction while trying to deal with everything his family has been through and how he is working so hard to get his vengeance. But, his demons proved to be too much, and vengeance always comes with a cost…that cost was his now ex wife, Sydney.

Sydney…strong is not a good enough word to describe her. L.M. Fox has this amazing ability of writing STRONG, INTELLIGENT women, that bring alpha males liked Matteo to their knees. So it’s no surprise that two years after their supposed divorce, Matteo shows up at one of her dates and has the most EPIC MY WIFE MOMENT! *the gasp I gasped and squeal I SQUEALED!!!” Turns out that Matteo and Sydney might actually not be as divorced as they thought…ooops!🤭

These two navigate finding their way back to each other and the demons they both struggle with in a way that was heartbreaking and breath taking all at the same time. Sydney never backs down to Matteo. And Matteo eventually becomes the man Sydney needs and deserves. He worships the ground she walks on and she helps him see he’s more than the mistakes of his past. And those passionate Italian moments 🥵🥵 I’ll never get enough of this series 💚

I am loving this series so much - we started with Luca and now it’s Matteo’s book! This was such a good read - it was angsty and emotional and oh so spicy!!

The only thing I love more than a good meet-cute is an epic “my wife” moment and this book has one that is so good!!! Seriously, I got the chills!

Matteo has been on this path of revenge while trying to protect his family and is also battling addiction. He needs to win back his ex-wife…except maybe she isn’t technically an ex…

Sydney is smart and strong and I loved her as the FMC. She takes zero sh*t from Matteo and makes him work hard to win her back.

I really love the moments when he speaks Italian to her - swoon. Be sure and read the epilogue!!

If hate to love, second chance romance is your thing you’ll LOVE this book!

Matteo is Luca’s brother and I was definitely intrigued by him in Luca’s book and had to jump into his story as soon as I could!

He’s got demons and a past that he’s running from and to protect the one person he loves he pushed her away and hurt her.
Of course this is a second chance romance and there’s a “MY WIFE” moment (which had me squealing) but of course Sydney doesn’t make it easy for him.

🥃Mafia/crime family
🖤Possessive/Overprotective Hero
🥃Hate to love
🖤One Italian
🥃Some red translations
🖤Strong sassy female character
🥃Broken alpha who becomes the man she deserves
🖤Second Chance romance

This story is SO good and while Luca is still my favorite Matteo’s story was EVERYTHING I had hoped it would be and more!!!

I was given an ARC from Hambright PR but all thoughts are my own!

The Hunter by LM Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25/5

I loved this book y’all! The FMC, Sydney, is a fiery and badass surgeon, and the MMC, Matteo overprotective due to his mafia tied family.

Sydney and Matteo’s story is emotional and such a good redemption. The second chance aspect creates such good tension and their chemistry is incredible. Although if Matteo would have just told the truth he could have avoided a lot 🤦‍♀️😂

I absolutely love Sydney’s friend group and found myself laughing at pretty much every page they were included in.

If you love these tropes you definitely need to check this series out
✔️ Mafia/crime family
✔️ Possessive/Overprotective Hero
✔️ Hate to love/Second Chance romance
✔️ One Italian
✔️ Some red translations
✔️ Strong sassy female character
✔️ Broken alpha who becomes the man she deserves

This is apart of an interconnected standalone series, this was my first read of the series and I am super excited to read the others!

Huge thank you to Hambright PR and the author for allowing me to review this ARC!

Matteo’s character was introduced in LM Fox’s Luca, the story before The Hunter. I had a feeling Matteo’s story would involve a lot of heartbreak, and it did.

True to LM Fox’s storytelling, she delivers the story in a way that cycles readers through every part of how Matteo lands where he is. That is, with his addiction, separation from Sydney, and his path to win her back. I went through all of that with him.

Emotions aside, the romance and spice between Matteo and Sydney were written very well. I loved how Matteo spoke Italian to her and appreciated the translations. I loved the heartbreak and sadness The Hunter brought on because, ultimately, that HEA and epilogue were well worth it!

Matteo Bianchi’s story is one of pain, passion, and a shot at redemption that will keep you flipping pages way past bedtime.

Even if you haven’t read the first book in the series (which follows his brother Luca), you can absolutely dive right in here—but fair warning, reading the first one gives some juicy backstory on this intense Italian family and makes this book hit even harder.

Matteo, also known as “The Hunter,” is a man on a mission. He's spent years carrying the weight of his family’s trauma on his back, chasing vengeance with a single-minded fury. Whether it's taking down the monster who hurt his sister or confronting the father who made his childhood a nightmare, Matteo’s path is dark—and deeply personal.

But that kind of anger comes at a cost. His past mistakes, fueled by pain and addiction, ended up pushing away the one person who ever really saw him: Sydney.

Sydney is no fragile love interest. She’s a sharp, resilient, take-no-crap surgeon who’s rebuilt herself from heartbreak and doesn’t need saving. She loved Matteo once, deeply—but she’s not the kind of woman who waits around for a man to get his act together. So when he crashes one of her dates with a bold declaration (cue the ultimate “that’s MY wife” moment), everything gets turned upside down.

What follows is a raw, emotional second-chance romance that doesn’t shy away from the messy parts. Matteo has to earn back more than just her trust—he has to prove he’s not the broken man he used to be. And Sydney? She’s not about to let him off easy.

Their connection is electric—equal parts fiery and tender. The banter, the unresolved tension, the push and pull of two people who never stopped loving each other but have no idea how to make it work again—it’s chef’s kiss. The way Sydney stands toe-to-toe with Matteo, unafraid of the shadows he carries, is honestly what makes this story shine.

Add in a backdrop of mafia intrigue, family loyalty, Italian spice (literal and figurative), and a hero trying to rise from the ashes, and you've got a romance that’s intense, gripping, and full of heart.

This book isn’t just about love—it’s about healing, redemption, and finding your way back to the one person who makes you feel whole, even after everything’s fallen apart.

So if you love:
💔 slow-burn tension
💥 explosive chemistry
🖤 messy redemption arcs
🥵 protective (but healing) alpha vibes
👩‍⚕️ FMCs who don’t back down

...then this book needs to be on your TBR.

The Hunter is another great story from L.M. Fox with lots of twists and turns that keeps you engaged until the very last page and wanting to find out what happens next. Matteo's story is easily one of my favorite L.M. Fox books so far. 🙂

This story has everything: sweet moments, tons of spice, lots of funny moments, a bit of mystery, and plenty of suspense.

Also, if you have previously read some of L.M's books you will notice several Easter eggs scattered throughout The Hunter from her other books.

One thing that I loved was when Matteo was speaking in Italian the English translations were included right there on the same page. There is also an index at the end of the book but the on-page translations were super helpful.

One of my favorite parts of "The Hunter" was when they went on the dates in chapter 40 especially when Matteo said; “I was protecting you from this dating shit by keeping you locked away to myself.” I thought that was funny. Another scene I liked was the one involving the kitchen counter in chapter 7. And of course, I LOVED the proposal scene. 💕

Some of my favorite lines/quotes from "The Hunter"

"My mouth goes dry at the sight of the man before me. He’s glorious. Matteo Bianchi is the reason statues are carved." {Chapter 7, page 73}

“You guys want to order some appetizers?” “That’d be a hard pass from me. I’m so broke my ATM gave me the middle finger today." {Chapter 12, page 113}

"Entering in the English terms, I wait to see and hear the pronunciation of the Italian equivalent. K!ll. “Uccidere. Uccidere.” I sound out the words. St***gle. “Strangolare.” Hmm, that’s an easy one. M**der Matteo. “Assassinio Matteo.” See, this Italian isn’t so hard after all." {Chapter 24, page 224} she was mad at him in this part.

"Why is my life like this? Because you let it be, you damn fool. You’re smart enough to graduate top of your class in medical school, but can’t see what this man is doing to you. One kiss is all it took, and he had you dropping your panties like a bachelorette at a Magic Mike show. Ah! How easily that hot Italian put you under his spell after all he’s done?" {Chapter 29, pages 266-267}

I loved every page of this book and can't wait to read L.M.'s next book! 🩷

The Hunter by LM Fox is a gripping, heart-pounding journey into the dark, dangerous world of mafia justice, family loyalty, and forbidden love. The story follows a man known only as "The Hunter," a vigilante driven by revenge and the need to protect the ones he loves. His mission: destroy the man who hurt his sister, ruin his father for the horrors he inflicted on his mother, and balance the fine line between justice and destruction. But the cost of this relentless pursuit of vengeance has left him broken, and the one person who could heal him—Sydney—is the very person he must stay away from. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but Sydney is no damsel in distress; she’s a strong, sassy woman who challenges him at every turn. Their hate-to-love, second-chance romance is packed with tension and passion, and watching the hero struggle with his possessiveness and overprotectiveness adds an irresistible layer to the story.
Sydney’s role as the fiery, strong-willed woman who challenges everything The Hunter believes makes this story even more compelling. Her ability to push back against his darker side—while also pulling him into the light—is the heart of this romance. As the tension between them intensifies, we get to see a broken alpha male slowly evolve into the man she deserves. Their interactions are electric, full of sharp words, red-hot attraction, and moments of vulnerability that are as powerful as they are emotional. With the backdrop of a mafia crime family, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and the added Italian translations and moments of intensity make every scene feel rich with culture and danger. The Hunter is an exhilarating ride full of twists, betrayal, and a love story that is as messy as it is beautiful.

ARC REVIEW

OUT 27 MARCH 2025

Matteo Bianchi… Strong, Possessive MMC. This man is fighting multiple addictions. Alcohol. And his Wife. He loves hard because he also fell in love at first sight. When Matteo realized his addiction for alcohol was out of control he decided to take it into his own hands and realized he needed help and got into rehab. Not just for himself, but for others. And i truly feel that’s where the biggest turning point of this story was.

Sydney Cunningham.. Strong Independent Bad ass Surgeon. This women deserves the world and if a man cannot give it to her, she is going to give it to herself and she knows it. At one point during the story she said this;
“ I’m a strong woman in all other aspects of my life. I’m done being a pushover for this man.”
That right there was when I knew she was the type of FMC to get what she wanted and not bow down in order to get it!! She was different and I loved that the author portrayed her in that light!!!

Although this story is an interconnected standalone, i did not read the first one and I understood this one perfectly fine. I usually do like to read all of them just to make sure i am up to date on all facts, but there was not one point in this story i had to stop and try to play catch up because i was confused. This book had me turning pages so fast wanting more and not wanting it to be over. I have unanswered questions and there is characters still alive that should not be… therefore it is the perfect excuse to jump back into reading the next book by this amazing author!!

Reading Update
The Winslow Brother’s
By Max Monroe
Thank you to @authormaxmonroe and @hambright_pr for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I finished reading Gotta Have Fate which is Remy’s prequel novella and am almost done with Jude’s story. I didn’t have a favorite brother before starting this book, which is a collection of Winslow Brother stories featuring Remy, Jude, Ty, and Flynn.
Remy is the oldest and is the caretaker/protector. When his father abandoned the family, he told Remy he was “the man of the house” now. Since then, he helped his mom raise the rambunctious crew. He is everything you would think of an older brother to be. He wants everyone to do and be their best, he makes good choices and is devoted to his family, career, and his love.
All he wants is to get married to Charlotte and continue living their lives in New York. That’s where he was born and raised and that’s where his family all live. So, when his brother’s take him out for his bachelor party, it is every bit chaotic and a little frightening, but it also stirs up a lot of anxiety when they have their fortunes read. After that Remy is uncomfortable and can’t relax until he’s back home with Charlotte.
I was not expecting to cry, but I did. You have to read for yourself how the story unfolds, but Remy’s story is life-changing for him. Remy’s story will keep you reading and is a great opener to the collection and is a roller coaster of emotions. You will laugh with the brothers and their antics and cry when Remy faces one of the worst days of his life.

Max Monroe knows how to tell amazing stories whether it's a 400-page book or a novella.
I knew a little bit about the brother’s before, but this collection will give you a new appreciation for these guys and their love lives. I can’t wait to continue reading about Jude. He is the fun-loving brother that is always up for a good time.

This is book two of The Bianchi Brother Series. This is an interconnected standalone that can be read on its own but I recommend reading book one because it just makes your reading experience so much more deeper when getting insight from the other family members.

Matteo is dead set on destroying the man who hurt his sister. He is protective of all his loved ones. He will stop at nothing to take his father down for the horrible things he committed. Matteo is driven by vengeance with his vigilante acts. He struggles with addiction as a way of coping. The only thing that will truly heal him is Sydney.

Sydney is a strong willed, independent witty surgeon. Matteo broke her heart. She decided that she will take care of herself and she doesn’t need anyone’s help. She finds herself at a point when she is willing to move forward when Matteo shows up like an alphahole. She is the only one that can bring Matteo to his knees.

Matteo and Sydney are trying to navigate their way back to each other while they struggle with their own demons. Their chemistry is explosive and the italian translations were an added delight for me being that I’m italian. I love that Sydney isn't afraid of Matteo’s darkness and maybe she will be the one to bring him to the light.

Their story is heartbreaking and breathtaking. I felt their suffering page by page accepting the past and moving forward through addiction was just beautifully written.

Difficult to explain how I feel about this book. To start off I have to admit that I really enjoyed the storyline and the plot itself. The concept of the book is intruding especially regarding the topics that are mentioned. As reader we get a better understanding about alcoholism and also the weights the charecters carry by being people pleasers. But unfortunately I just couldn’t bring myself to like the female character Sydney. She is literally so smart and talented but when it comes to her (“ex”) husband she is so frustrating. She would think about how she won’t fall for him but then always lets him in again. I mean of course the reason he left her was to Protect her but I wish the girl would have more self respect not to give in so easily. On the other hand the love interest Matteo is a character we get to know on a deep level which I find actually is actually good written. He truly loves his wife and family but the one thing that annoys me was how he and Sydney met. It’s so cliche and kind of lustful. They met for the first time in a bar and he is like : oh I don’t do relationships blah blah blah and then he sees Sydney is like nevermind she is an exception and only talks about his sexy she looks. Of course later on we get to see that he likes her also for her character and intelligence as doctor plus he respects her career and doesn’t want to meddle with that. But still the main reason I can’t rate it higher is (spoiler) the whole stalking thing, I get that he installed the cameras for protection but to follow her to a bar and then later kiss her even though he left her years ago but thinks he can be “possessive” like wth man get a grip.

The second book in the Bianchi Brothers series—because who doesn’t love an Italian mafia medical drama romance? Matteo, much like his brother Luca in the first book, is determined to take down his crime boss father and seek revenge.

The story picks up years after he first meets and falls in love with Sydney, a surgeon. Their whirlwind romance leads to a quick marriage, despite Sydney ignoring some glaring red flags—like the fact that she barely knows who her husband really is. When Matteo finally realizes he’s put her life in danger, he decides the only way to protect her is to push her away, convincing her he no longer loves her and forcing a divorce. Both are left shattered—Matteo drowning in alcohol, following in his father’s footsteps, while Sydney tries to move on. Just when she’s ready to start dating again, Matteo makes it clear he never truly left her.

This is a second-chance romance wrapped in the dangers of the mafia, with Matteo battling his demons and refusing to let Sydney in. I kind of saw the plot twist coming, given how the first book ended, but it still hit hard. There’s plenty of action and deep self-reflection, and the story leans dark, especially in its portrayal of addiction. That said, the raw emotions were so well done—I genuinely felt the anguish and heartbreak of both characters.

I also loved seeing Matteo’s siblings, and Luigi and Sydney’s friends were the absolute best! The ending gave them the happiness they deserved after everything they went through. I’m not sure I’m ready for Nico’s story yet, but I know it’s going to be amazing!

I had to dnf almost immediately because of the god awful writing. For some unknown reason, the author writes in the occasional Italian word/phrase and then immediately provides the translation in parentheses next to the dialogue:

“C’mon, cugino.” (cousin)

Like holy shit. Next came the actual quality of the writing:

“Why he cares?” I stammer, giving up on trying to speak in decipherable sentences.
“Well, I don’t think the look or smell of you is good for business. Hell, at least the homeless guy I passed on the sidewalk has an excuse for his current state. And I dare say his eau de toilette is preferable to yours.”

At this point I thought it was a joke so I kept reading. Then I stumbled upon this line of literary gold:

“You have to stop this. You’d come so far, cugino.” He stops his lecture, and I mistakenly think we’ll be heading somewhere I can sleep this off for a few days until he adds, “Apparently avenging your sister and mother and protecting Sydney aren’t the priorities you proclaim.”

Actually what the helly ??? I’m astounded this was even published and I know that’s harsh but simple gramatical errors like “you’d” in place of “you’ve” should not have made it into the PUBLISHED BOOK. Also this dialogue is so tell-y and not show-y like why am I having this spelled out for me :(((((( readers can be competent (shocking I know)

Also the fact that I took time out of my day to write this review should really tell u something because I’m normally never active on this app

Matteo & Sydney

The second installment in the Bianchi brothers. I loved it when I first met Matteo in Luca I was hoping his story was going to be written and when I had the chance I ran to sign up and got my grubby hands on it.
We meet Sydney an incredible surgeon who is just trying to get by and start dating again after her husband walks out on her after a night of passion two years ago. Her friend encourages her to start dating again and she does one night but she can’t help of keep thinking about her sexy Italian ex husband. It seems she had conjured him up when Matteo tells her date to get his hands off “his wife”. Confused and after arguing with him everywhere she goes he keeps popping up everywhere until he drops a bomb on her saying they’re still married. He’s back in her life and she can’t keep up with his wish washy ways.
Until she learns the truth about him.
Matteo is so in love with his wife she’s an addiction that he can’t seem to let go of. He knows he has to, so that he can keep her safe from his vile father and his minions. But he spirals until he doesn’t know what is happening anymore.
This story has everything I needed and more a hot, sexy Italian who speaks Italian when he’s in the throes of passion. A lovers, to enemies to lovers again. And a strong Fmc who has the bestest of friends one who speaks her mind no matter if you’re drinking or eating where it might just pop back up.

This is the second interconnected standalone book in The Bianchi Brothers series. It follows Matteo and Sydney's story.

This book had me in quite the emotional spin, but LM Fox ensured alot of sensitivity and showed the struggle for those in the grip of alcoholism (addiction itself). Matteo walked away from Sydney 4 years prior, for reasons that hurt my heart, and he did this to protect her. But, he turned to alcohol to numb a pain that ran so deep he is merely treading water, not living. He loves her and continues to watch her without her knowledge, to keep her safe. But in doing so, it hurts him more.

Sydney has thrown herself into work, as a Surgical Consultant, this is her life, despite her friend's efforts for her to move on and find love again. But, how do you forget the passion and love she found with Matteo? When he ingratiates himself into her life, she is thrown into a whirlwind of emotion herself, and I could feel that pain in her words, her emotions. Those of us who have had or been exposed to a loved one in a the grip of addiction, we can relate to these feelings, and this was me. Sydney is unsure why Matteo ghosted her, but when he returns, he wants her back, and a love like this is never lost.

This was a powerful read, and given I have not read Luca yet, easy to understand the relationship between some of the side characters, and why Matteo is the way he is.

Another Bianchi brother to fall in love with and boy did I fall! L.M. knows how to write such a captivating story that will leave you with emotions, but also completely addicted the whole way through. She takes us through the journey of Matteo and Sydney. Matteo who wants to do nothing more than protect his family and “ex-wife” from his father all while suffering with his alcohol addiction. He is a true fighter and I absolutely love how the story unfolded for him. Sydney is such a fierce and strong woman who takes care of herself and doesn’t need anyone’s help. The chemistry and connection between these two was raw and you truly knew they were made for one another. The Hunter is a heartbreaking, yet breathtaking love story filled with twists and turns that was just so beautifully written. I can’t wait for the next book!

LM Fox has always been one of my favorite authors to read, I recently read the first book in the series and was obsessed with Luca, he is Matteo’s brother. She showed up and shown out with Matteo. I feel in love with him for his protectiveness of his entire family and more importantly his wife. When you read the blurb, you think it was a down deal and he wants a second shot at things but the author throw in a twist.

He is known as the Hunter in his world, he lives to protect the darkness from his direct family and but still fall hard for Syd after just meeting her one night at Luigi’s restaurant. Syd comes from the socialite world of NYC, she wanted to be a surgeon on her own terms and be able to help people in need. She followed her path to Virginia and she never thought she would fall for the dark skin tattooed stallion.

Their “couple” come back story will have you swooning by the end of the book, getting Matteo is better himself so he could come back to Syd and be stronger was everything he wanted. Syd finding out about the past that wasn’t told you will make your heart tender for her because she just wanted to be apart of his world entirely. After the turning point in the book, if you know you know!! (BIG EYES) getting to see them come together and fall for each other and make it official again I was shouting from the roof tops. The epilogue was my favorite!!!! The ending was perfecto!

I was kindly provided with this book (censorship is BS and I hate it but here we are!)

Layla you’ve done it again, I’m a mess - reduced to a puddle of tears on the floor.

Medical romance, mafia, second chance (kinda?), overprotective hero, badass FMC, MMC works his ass off to be deserving of his woman, Italian (and the translations are hot af..).
This book does have triggers for alcohol addiction, suicide and mentions of kidnapping/abuse/rape but not in detail and not about the MC’s. Check triggers anyway.
Smit was 3.5/5 on the spice scale and that HEA.. will I ever recover from the Bianchi brothers? No. No I will not.

This was a 5 star read from the start, I adored Luca (book 1) and couldn’t wait to return to St Luke’s - the hospital that features in Ms Fox’s books often - and the friendly faces there.

If you’ve not read the backlist of LM Fox, I highly recommend doing so after reading this one because Layla’s characters make cameos throughout each book, and this one really just.. OH MY GOD I’m still not over it.

I am in tears, absolutely beautiful story, a moving and affirming story of loving through addiction, and the values of accepting help from loved ones.

The Hunter has everything I love in a dark romance—revenge, second chances, and a hero who will do whatever it takes to be worthy of his woman. Matteo is determined to take down the man who hurt his family, but that mission comes with a price. His past with addiction has already cost him so much, including Sydney, the one person who made him want to be better. Now that she’s back in his life, he’s not letting go. But with danger closing in, keeping her safe might be the one fight he can’t win.
Matteo is the kind of overprotective, head-over-heels-for-her hero I can’t resist, and Sydney is a total badass who isn’t about to make things easy for him. Their chemistry? Off the charts. And those Italian translations? 🔥🔥🔥 This book brings the steam, but it also packs an emotional punch. Matteo’s journey to redemption, the found-family vibes, and the tension of the mafia world kept me hooked from start to finish.
It does touch on heavier topics like addiction and loss, so check content warnings, but it all adds to the depth of the story. And that ending? SO satisfying. If you love mafia romance with heart (and spice), this one’s a must-read.

Once again I am enthralled with Ms. Fox's storylines and characters. She pulls you into a story that is captivating, addictive, heart-stopping and one where you have so many emotions and feelings towards her characters. The Hunter is book two in The Bianchi Brothers series and it is one where you can't stop reading because you need to know what happens.
Matteo and Syndey are like fire and dynamite together. There is a history between them, some good and some heartbreaking. She is a surgeon who is trying to live her life however when her ex-husband walks back into her life, all hell breaks loose. Matteo has never stopped loving her but his leaving her was for her protection. At the turn of every page, I had mixed feelings. While I know why Mateeo did what he did, I just wanted to yell at him. He frustrated me throughout the book but towards the end, he found a place in my heart. He is a cinnamon roll through and through. His rough and arrogant exterior gives way to a sweet and caring man when it comes to Sydney and his family.
The twists and turns throughout this book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. A few times I was holding my breath, however, I knew that there would be a HEA in the end.

Genre: Mafia Romance
Tropes:

✨Mafia/crime family
✨Possessive/Overprotective Hero
✨Hate to love/Second Chance romance
✨One Italian
✨Some red translations
✨Strong sassy female character
✨Broken alpha who becomes the man she deserves

This is Matteo and Sydney’s story.
It is an intense journey and a very emotional journey. A story of redemption and healing.

This book had my heart breaking for Matteo and Sydney both. They went through so much to get to their second chance.

He often spoke his feeling to her in Italian. He was totally unaware she had downloaded an app to learn Italian. Her learning Italian actually saved her life at one point that you will read about in the book.

I highly recommend that you read this emotional book of redemption, heartbreak, chaos, and all the angst your heart will be able to handle.

Going to be honest, and say, I did like the first book more of this series, but I still enjoyed it.

Matteo is Luca's older brother who has to shoulder so much now that they left their father back in Sicily and go into hiding. Taking this toll does cause him to drink...all the time. He knows he has a problem, and was able to keep it at bay until he made the decision to leave his wife, Sydney. After that decision, which he thought he was doing to help protect her, completely destroyed him.
Sydney is trying to go through life after Matteo left her and asked for a divorce. She didn't know much about him, only that she was drawn to him, and after bumping into him a few years after he left, can still feel that desire still there. But, he hurt her (not physically) and it's hard to open her heart.
When threats from Italy come to where they are hiding, Matteo knows he has to take care of the woman he loves, but will his alcohol addiction make it possible.
This is a second chance (and third chance) romance with Mafia situations entangled. There is talk about addiction, and Fireball (the candy, not the drink). Seriously, the dentist who has Luca and Matteo as patients must make bank! lol

❤️📖 This is the second book in the The Bianchi brothers series, release day March 27th 📖❤️

This is the story of Matteo Bianchi, older brother of Luca Bianchi from the first book of the series and man I was so looking forward to read his story and Ms. Fox didn't dissapoint!

Hunter is full of emotions and the pain, so much pain, Matteo has to go through, when he knows he has to protect everyone but for a while he allows himself to be happy only to give it up to protect his Sydney.

He strugles so much, his inner fight to give evrything just to protect his family, but his heart telling him not to give up on his love.

Sydney is another great fenale character and I loved she didn't easily give up, but still showed her emotions and did have her own inner fight, when she had to decide to leave or learn to trust again

The book is really emotional and I believe Ms Fox put everything she had in herself to bring these raw emotions alive, she is not afraid to bring heavy themes into her books but sameway creats beautiful stories with HEA.

I've read all her books and can say she gets better and better with every book and this last book is the best of her so far.

The Hunter was a book I would not pass up. I devoured this book! I was obsessed! Luca’s book was everything to me. So I had to get my hands on The Hunter. L.M. Fox did not disappoint once again. A dark romance, lovers to enemies to lovers again, what more could you ask for? Another Bianchi brother I’ve fallen in love with. 😍 I loved the plot of the story & the Mafia vibes. Mafia romance is my #1 favorite! I will never pass mafia romance up!

Matteo is a hot tattooed Italian, protective & obsessed hero. Yes, he has flaws.. but he’s a fighter & he needs Sydney. He’s obsessed with her & it shows. Sydney is a strong FMC, independent & knows what she wants. The tension, heat, chemistry & love was everything! It was off the chart! This second chance at love is just what I needed. It was everything & I was here for it! This story will tug on your heartstrings. I said this in my review on the book Luca…I do not want to give anything else away, so you need to get your hands on this book! L.M. Fox, I LOVE your books!

This is a MUST READ! Don’t walk, RUN!
Easy 5 ⭐️ from me!

Very mafia-lite, this book focuses on breaking addiction, second chance, and planning for revenge.

Matteo’s story about his struggle with alcohol and his journey to sobriety really did a number on my heart. Each time he took a step forward something would pull him back. It was like watching a dance between hope and despair. His story was beautiful and uniquely his and his alone.

Sydney was such a breath of fresh air. She was strong minded and held him accountable for all the things he made her endured throughout the years. While she was blind to a lot of things but she never truly gave up on him and their relationship.
Matteo:
“Non ho il diritto di ciedere. Aspettami. Grazie, aspettami.” (I have no right to ask. Wait for me. Please, wait for me.)

I thought the language barrier added a cute touch to the story and I also loved how eager Sydney was to learn Italian 🥹

Tropes:
* Mafia Romance
* Second Chance
* My wife
* Secret past
* Found family

⚠️: Addiction, alcoholism, mentions of suicide, death of a parent, etc.

Thank you to the author and Ham Bright PR for an ARC of this title. All opinions are my own.

Wow! What a great book! Sydney and Matteo have been married for 2 years. When all of a sudden, he asks Sydney for a divorce. Not believing it. She goes to Luigi's Italian restaurant to look for him. When she sees him. He pulls a gorgeous brunette on to his lap. After running his hands up her legs. Sydney is absolutely heartbroken. She gives him the divorce he wants. Two years later when Sydney decides to get back into the dating game. She is out having dinner with a man. When her ex starts yelling "get your hands off of my wife!" She then starts to see Matteo everywhere. Including her home. Is he stalking her? Or is he trying to court her? Because he can't seem to let her go?
This was a wonderful story. It gives you all the feels! L.M. Fox gives you both of their perspectives. And both of their struggles when their relationship ends. Add in Matteo's alcohol addiction makes everything very realistic and complicates everything. It shows you how situations can completely spiral out of control. Don't worry there is a HEA. That you won't be disappointed in! If you love mafia romance's you will definitely enjoy this book!
