Hello I am Sandra D., the author of When We Get Back Up - A Generation Will Change. This is my true story of childhood abuse and its' lasting aftereffects such as unhealthy relationships, depression and more. Nightmares, flashbacks, panic attacks and out of body experiences were symptoms of verbal abuse, physical abuse and molestation. After hospitalization for a suicidal attempt, I looked for and found ways to heal personal sorrows and inner pain. From a fearful, victimized child to a traumatized angry adult needing inner healing this story inspires and motivates others to heal. Inner healing takes time and inner work. Recovery is an on-going process. Writing this book was challenging yet therapeutic as truth will set us free. My story comes straight from the heart.
