The Prince

Rate this book
Eris Windermere is the youngest boy, typically on the outside of the major family drama. Until now. His family needs him, and what they ask of him is more than he's willing to give.

Until Dionne.

Dionne Andrews is the sister of his brother's wife, and she's not exactly a fan of his family. But he wants her, and he's willing to do anything to prove he's not like his brothers.

As he works to prove himself to her, Dionne finds herself getting more and more entangled with the Windermere family. There's Eris, her brother-in-law, her nephew, Eris' mother, and a deep, dark secret that hovers over them all, threatening to tear the family and Dionne and Eris' happiness apart.

Dionne worked my nerves at every freaking turn! Omg girl! 😭 Prince really was amazing and the way he put his foot down with the whole family?!? Finally! I enjoyed this book a lot and I think it beats out Nays book for me! Also speaking of Nay he is still a mess and almost made me upset in that epilogue! Lol I’m excited to see what’s next for this family!

Less is more....

I liked Prince's story, I did not love it. Dionne irked my nerves most of the story. I never warmed to her character. She was oddly irritating to me. And the Prince manipulation tactics by the family worked out in Jakari's favor The Windermere family is no joke. That part with Prez and the mother was fickle foolishness. She needs to sit in the corner and be quiet. Overall the story was good. I would have been okay with less pages to get to the point at the end. 3.75 stars...

The Prince

I really loved how once Eris was set on something, he locked all the way in to make it happen. He constantly worked to reassure Dionne because he recognized that was something she needed. Eris was a good man and dedicated to his family. Despite his family trying to make him out to he a joke at times, I could see his maturity at times. I’m still not sold on Dionne with her judgmental self, but I can appreciate how she stands ten toes down about his rules and boundaries. I liked how she let Eris in, but her wishy washiness was a little annoying, but I could tell it was a personal battle for her that made her relatable. I would rate this book 3.75/5 stars.

Action packed - I wish we could have got to some of it sooner tho 🩷🤞🏾.

Out of all of the female MCs of this series, Eris was my least favorite. Her beef with the family was just straight up non-judgmental. And she didn’t have no room to talk with her drug addict momma and dead beat dad. Period. I loved Eris though! And I loved seeing the old characters - I want another Jaz book!

Conflict

Hmmmm, I’m comflicted on this book (The Prince) as well as the series ending in general. …Also, I can only tolerate Dionne in minuscule roles. Her as a predominant character was insufferable (hint: seek therapy to deal with all her issues & insecurities 🥴😬. Rather than making everyone else miserable in her presence ‼️…More so, Dionne & Quincy storyline made absolutely no sense. He appears to be just a sperm donor (no child support, no help raising Chase & he won’t/ “can’t” watch his son daily either, especially when donor has NO job 🤬😤‼️) Why was/is Dionne still so committed to his feelings/opinions⁉️Thereafter, I’m glad for both Nay & Knight (and their families) but why prolong the inevitable with forty plus chapters ? The Prince (Family Ties - Book 5)” was a mediocre read with unnecessary conversations/distractions/dialogue IE: What’s the context surrounding Evelyn’s professional proclivities & purchase? Is there more to this story? Consequently, “The Prince (Family Ties - Book 5)” was just a mediocre read for me🤷🏾‍♀️.

Dionne. Babygirl I’m convinced you did not want us to like you! Omg! I totally understand being an over protective mother, but every other character trait wove her into a big ball of aggravation! Rude, demeaning, hypocritical, envious and damaged! It takes a special type of person with extreme patience to pull back the layers and love her through her healing. Luck for her Eris was up headache inducing challenge!

Eris stood on business the whole book and you can’t do anything but respect it! I just knew his skeletons were going to sabotage everything he was working towards…

As a family, the Windermere’s made huge strides in this installment of the series and I love that for them.

I think we need one more book. I need more history on Gab. I need to work her story backwards and figure out exactly where she turned into a 😈

Loyalty, Trust

Eris was truly his own man, and when secrets were revealed only made his decision firmed. Dionne had her own trauma to heal from and at first that was hindering her from love and happiness, it shouldn't have taken all of that just to gain her attention but Eris wanted her and he always got what he wanted.
Now the incidents with their mother she's not innocent and I think she was playing the victim role just a lie too good can't wait for the next edition to the series

Not bad

Finally glad to get book number 5 after a bit of a hiatus. I just wish there was some better editing.

I loved revisiting the other characters and getting to know Eris. He didn’t give up once he had his mind set. Dionne was quite annoying to me. She blamed Eris and took her issues out on him when she really had a problem with Jakari. Lastly, the ending was lackluster for me and felt rushed compared to the rest of the book.

drama overshadowed the romance

Nice brief read but the drama did overshadow the romance making it feel somewhat rushed with the chemistry. The chapters were also somewhat choppy. There were missed opportunities to develop the relationship between Eris and Dionne more but alas. I digress. The first two of this series are still my favorite and are probably the only ones I’d ever reread.

This book really didn't do it for me. If it had a better MFC I may have liked it more than I did. Dionne worked my nerves the entire book with her judgmental ways. She always speaking down on the family but still want to reap the benefits of what they do. I really don't know what Eris seen in her at all. The best thing about this book was seeing what the other characters were up to. Definitely my least favorite of the series.

To Make A Choice To Let Love In

Shae, this series was a good one for me. I was so glad Dionne got a chance to see what love could be. I realize it wasn't the best way to make a difference in the horrible way. But we tend to judge whether we are above or beneath a person. To see this family rally for each other once they got their own way to make decisions and choices. I am glad Dionne and Malika finally found peace. I loved this series🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Prince

Sometimes you can't dodge Cupid's arrow even when you want to. That's how Dionne and Prince came together - both fighting the sting. Both had issues of a different kind. Neither could deny what was meant to be.
I loved how Prince bossed up and I loved that Dionne stopped overthinking everything.
This was a great addition to this series.

The Prince Has Arrived

Chiiiile, those Windermere's took me through it in this series, mmmkay!? But this series also kept me fully engaged from beginning to end and I had a feeling early on that Eris was going to surprise us all. I felt like he grew up right before our eyes and is now a full grown man handling things in a very mature and legit way... Well except him planting them things on ol' boy- cause that was petty as heck. *whispering, but I liked it* Gab was still a mess in this one and Nay was still dumb as a box of rocks. I could have done without him being included in the epilouge. Overall though, I liked how the author showed the organic growth between Eris and Dionne. I love how he not only thought about her in but also Chase in all of his decisions. I love that she also made Chase her top priority and stuck to her morals. Together, they were just a good young adult couple trying to make a better life for themselves, regardless of their past mistakes and I was here for it.
