Pet Shop’s Predators have launched a blitz attack on NEST! Feed-trained and yet retaining their rationality, these overpowered monsters have no qualms about blowing up innocent citizens and slashing down anyone who gets in their way. It’s an earth-shattering fight the likes of which Suchan and his friends have never seen before, where survival itself is not guaranteed. The most horrifying part? The Predators’ acts of terror are all a ruse to mask their true purpose―killing Professor Ji!
NEST is under attack by members of Pet Shop and they don’t care how many people they need to kill to get to their target: Professor Ji.
Let’s just say there’s a TON of action and a lot of cool insect powers. Even some that develop further as we learn more about them. For example, apparently you can develop your stances enough to tap into the origin of the species and gain new abilities.
The Pet Shop continues their raid on Nest, and there are fights happening all over the campus. The students and professors are all trying to keep the predators away from their main target: Professor Ji. A pink praying mantis and an exploding ant take on Professor Jun, who is one of the last lines of defense before the predators get to Ji, while Suchan and his classmates try to slow down some of the other predators who are trying to infiltrate the Nest compound with other nefarious missions.
This series is always interesting for learning about different insects and powers that are brought in as inspiration for this large cast of characters, and it’s fascinating to see them paired up in fights. The one detractor has been the fight scenes because the panels full of zoom lines with some colors to indicate which character is involved in that motion, and then a few panels later we see the fall out of all the zipping around. It can be difficult to follow, but I suppose it’s likewise hard to depict bugs flying everywhere and portray how fast they are in a static medium. The power levels are a little out of balance by this point in the fight as we have seen certain people supposedly get to their ultimate level already, but in this volume they've reached yet another ultimate level and max once again. I love a good fight scene as much as the next person, but when the ceiling has been reached, it's hard to believe there is anywhere else to go.
