Now that Cyril is saved, Monica Everett finally confronts the criminal she’s been seeking―the accomplice who helped Aaron O’Brien embezzle the student council funds. Her opponent wields a dangerous and forbidden magecraft that appears to be “perfect,” but even that stands no chance against the mathematical genius of the Silent Witch. However, bringing the perpetrator to justice proves to be just the beginning of Monica’s troubles, as a dragon and a quirky new classmate burst onto the scene…!
Ahhh I love Monica so much!! I don't think there is ever a moment where I'm not completely cheering for her to do her best! Plus she's just SO cool!!
The wrapping up of the previous arc was so good! I didn't even think about who the culprit was until Monica called them out! The way she effortlessly put that person in their place and undid their formula with a perfect one was incredible! I love Monica's love for numbers because I like seeing her angry when the numbers aren't perfect and how happy she is when the numbers are perfect! Again, she's amazing!
Mr. Louis still makes me angry and definitely was NOT happy at the few pages where HE was the focus. UGH! I know in some ways he HAS helped Monica, but I really really dislike how he bullies her. The one thing that made up for it was his maid/familiar calling him out on what he REALLY is because girl, you are SO right!
The part with the dragon was AWESOME! I'm really glad it ended well concerning what happened (more epic and OP Monica!!), but also how she was able to be with her friend too. Monica's always putting so much effort into her hair and I think really does value her friendship with Lana even if she's nervous around her a lot, so I'm truly glad everything worked out. <3
I LOVED the ending! I'm very excited to see where it goes and see Monica unknowingly putting people in their places because I hate when people start looking down on her! I think it's why one of my favorite moments of this volume was of her and Cyril and her feeling touched that she was acknowledged by someone as "incredible" as him. (He and the prince are the only two people who don't seem to look down on her at all.) More people need to respect her!
Definitely another fantastic and extremely engaging volume! Can't wait for the next one!
A fun volume. The student council embezzlement case comes to a close, but Monica isn’t free of the student council. She’s appointed as the accountant, much to the displeasure of the aristocratic members. She’s not happy either, as she still can’t speak to people, but at least it makes it easier for her to keep an eye on the prince.
It’s not easy for her to hide her magic either. First a dragon attacks the town, forcing her to secretly kill it, and then her old teacher comes to the academy. But even without magic, she tends to cause attention, like when she tries to learn chess.
Monica’s friendships are slow to form, and there are too many eligible men around her. It’s difficult to choose a favourite among them (ahem, Lord Ashley), and if there’s to be a romance, it’ll be a long wait. Definitely reading on.
Monika and Nero rescue Cyril and figure out the true mastermind behind the embezzlement plot because of details that were only just now shared with the reader. Also because she’s one of the seven sages who can actually handle someone using illegal brainwashing magic.
But the biggest plot point I’m interested in is that Prince Felix knows that the sages are watching him. The question is whether he’ll realize that Monika is his real bodyguard. That and watching Monika struggle to handle school life.
4.5 stars for a timid squirrel and her favorite familiar! I love that Monica is slowly getting better, but things keep happening that make her regress! I think I will need to get the light novels while I wait for the next manga addition!
Story continues to be cute and falls the anime pretty closely. There are a couple small segments that were not included in the anime that were fun to see. Overall, not a whole lot going on though.
