First off, I just want to give a *massive* thank you to the author, Amber L. Werner, for the opportunity to receive this ARC!
Right off the bat, I will say this book did not disappoint! Only reason I'm giving it a 4.5 instead of a 5 is I wish there was a BIT of Violet and her new pal at the end of the book getting some more screen time so to speak. Otherwise this book picks up seamlessly from where "Bloodfeather Lullaby" leaves us. The enemies to begrudgingly allies to lovers is excellent with one couple. The friends to lovers happenings in our other couple so genuinely so sweet and wholesome. I adore them so much. I love that Violet, one of the leading ladies, has some gorgeous character growth and learns to believe in herself more as well as becoming more sure footed within herself. Then we have Maurin, our other leading lady, gets to also grow as well as finally getting to learn her back story. Not to forget our guys either, Nox has some development and we finally learn why Ryon has gone through his years of hardship. ALSO THE WORLD BUILDING? Yes yes yes I love it. I'm beyond excited to see where book 3 will take us and have immediately added the other books in this universe to my TBR. Amber has made a huge fan of me and I cannot recommend this enough!
I am so happy I got to be an ARC reader for Bloodfeather Heartsong, and I want to start by saying Amber L. Werner has done a magnificent job. I loved Bloodfeather Lullaby, Book 1 in the Bloodsong Trilogy, and the sequel didn't disappoint. If anything, it has brought so much more to the story: more plots and twists, more history, more personal history of some of the characters, and the blossoming of not one but two beautiful love stories.
Amber has created an intricate yet easily understandable world full of exciting lore and history, characters finding themselves and fighting their inner demons while creating a tight-knit found family.
Witnessing the relationship building between Violet and Ryon was so precious, and Ryon is one of those characters you have to love. Even though he's dealt with the hardships in his life, being raised in a secluded community, he has done his best to rise above it all and become a true pillar for Violet. Violet, on the other hand, is a character who has also grown so much, and I cannot wait to see what awaits her further. Nox and Mariun are also characters you have to cheer for. They are both emotionally scarred in their own ways, but to see them slowly open and build up on that was beautiful to see.
The excitement for the grand finale of the Bloodsong Trilogy is tangible. I am certain that Amber will deliver a conclusion that will not only justify the wait but also leave us yearning for more. I, for one, am eagerly counting down the days.
In Pursuit of Dragons: A Riveting Sequel to Bloodfeather Lullaby
This exhilarating sequel to Bloodfeather Lullaby plunges readers back into the fight for Dracwood's future. Violet, fueled by dreams of adventure, sets sail with her friends on a desperate quest to find the last dragon eggs, a discovery rumored to hold the key to saving their world. However, Violet's journey is fraught with self-doubt as she grapples with the limitations of her newfound powers.
Meanwhile, Ryon, burdened with the weight of his mission, races against time to return a discovered egg and save his brother. But shocking revelations threaten to shatter his resolve and challenge even his most potent magic.
Nox, haunted by loss and vengeance, finds himself bound to his enemy in a precarious dance of survival. As fate throws him a curveball, Nox must adapt or risk succumbing to the darkness within.
With danger at every turn, Violet, Ryon, and Nox must overcome their internal struggles and unite to protect the precious eggs. Will they succeed in saving the dragons and Dracwood, or will these mythical creatures vanish forever?
Fans of Mistborn and Shadow and Bone will devour this fast-paced fantasy adventure, brimming with dangerous magic, loyal companions, a slow-burn romance, and an epic quest for survival.
What an incredible continuation of this epic fantasy. So many twists and turns it kept me interested and invested in the story. The characters have wit and depth and keep you on your toes wondering where their story will lead.
Bloodfeather Heartsong is the second book in the Blood Song Trilogy series, and it packs a punch!!
The story picks up where it left off with Bloodfeather Lullaby, (I highly recommend reading the first book to appreciate this book.) It takes us on a new adventure with Violet and crew as she continues on her journey to find the elusive dragons' eggs all while desperately trying to find her animal bond mate and understand her magic.
Ryon is just a cinnamon roll with a heart of gold driven by his guilt that caused his twin (yes, there are two hunks) brother to change into someone he doesn't recognize but misses with all of his heart and will do anything to get him back.
Uncle Nox is finding new abilities he never had before but come at a personal cost. His relationship with Mariun has such great push and pull that it leaves you giggling.
This book was a joy to read, a non-stop adventure ride that leaves you wanting more! And that cliffhanger? Ugh. I can't wait for the third book on this wonderful series.
Read this if you love adventure, magic, blossoming love, animal bonds, family, action, baby dragons, wishes and moody drama. A great book to escape to for a sweet while.
Bloodfeather Heartsong by Amber L Werner Book 2 in Blood Song Triology ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5/5 Stars
I feel like it isn't super often that I like the second book of a series over the first, but with this series, it just keeps getting better! I can't wait to see what happens next! This book picks up right where book 1 leaves off and continues in the quest with Violet, Nox, Ryon, and Mariun. In this book, Violet struggles with her confidence to fulfill the prophecy and expectations of those around her, depending on her. Nox is still raw from losing his bondmate, being kidnapped, starved, battered, and manipulated. Ryon continues to help his newfound friends to the best of his abilities while also fulfilling the quest he was sent on so he can help his brother. Mariun is on the run from the only life she has ever known and is trying to find a better life for herself. This book is written from all of their POVs, and if I wasn't already attached to them from book 1, I definitely love all of them now! The banter, romance, growth, the new dragon characters, journeys together (found family aspects), and individually throughout this book made it such a fun read! All the many questions I had from reading book 1 were answered while also adding so many new twists and turns. I definitely recommend this to all fans of fantasy and quest/adventure novels.
📖 Review: The covers of this trilogy are STUNNING! The quest continues for Violet, Ryon and Nox! I love how the story is so descriptive that it pulls you into their world. Book 2 continues where book 1 left off and the pace never slows. I love how the reader is continually guessing what is going to happen next. I like all the characters and they all feel relatable. I enjoyed the witty banter between the characters and the bonded animal companions. I love that dragons are a big part of book 2 and I cannot wait to see what they do in the next and final book in the series. Book 2 answered a lot of the questions that I had after reading the prequel and book 1. The author does a great job with foreshadowing and keeps you on your toes. I rated book 2 slightly higher than book 1 just because everything started to come together and made sense to me.
I highly encourage you to give this series a try! Read this series if you like: magic ● dragons ● bonded animals ● witty banter ● good vs. evil ● slow burn romance ● adventure/quests ● multiple POVs ● visions/riddles and much more!
I have a lot to say about it. First of all, I got the ARC for both this book and the first one together, which was both generous and exciting🫶🏻! Fantasy is still a relatively new genre for me, and so far all of the books I have read have been amazing, including this one.
I absolutely loved the first book, Bloodfeather Lullaby, and it made me want to read the second one even more. The Bloodfeather trilogy is a thrilling adventure-fantasy series, and the romance is only a small part of the plot. However, I loved and devoured every moment Nox, Mariun, Violet, and Ryon shared together 🥹.
The adventure and quests in this book were thrilling to read, and I could actually visualize them. The title connected to Violet in a special way, which was amazing to read. I love Violet, and her bondmate is extremely special. I love how Kayda found her bondmate, which was not something I expected, but I loved it.
Overall, Bloodfeather Heartsong is a fun, fantasy-paced read with a hint of romance.
Amber did it again and did not disappoint. With the continuing saga, we follow four adventurous friends, Violet, Nox, Ryon, and Mariun on a journey that is not for the weakhearted.
And...dragons....
We get reunited with Dru and Bella through the search for their eggs. Meeting the offspring of my favorite characters and seeing the bond one of them has with one of the main characters 🤫 is so touching.
Stunning realms are a backdrop to the characters' development and evolution into their own powers and their desires coming true. The relationships that develop are beautiful and delicate.
Thank you, Amber, for yet another heartwarming adventure that leaves me feeling abandoned once I say goodbye by reading the last page. It's so bittersweet having spent time with these friends but also having to say goodbye...for now. Ready for the next part!!!!

Once again Amber L Werner do not disappoint! And I can honestly say that I cannot wait for the last book in this trilogy to come out !
Bloodfeather heartsong by Amber L werner is the second book in the blodsong trilogy an epic fantasy filled with adventure, unique magic, incredible world building, animal companions, epic quest and let’s not forget DRAGONS !
This book seamlessly picks up from bloodfeather lullaby and is like the first book multiple pov.
We follow Violet, Ryon and Nox on their quest to find the last of the thought distinct dragon eggs. A dangerous quest in unknown lands with the company of their enemy’s daughter.
Tropes: - animal companions - Unique world building - magic - Adventures - Epic quests - Slow burn romance - Friends to lovers - Enemies to lovers
If you’re interested in more animal bonds, friendship, and a whole world of adventure then this is the right series for you. We learn about all sorts of characters, their backstories and their fears, which makes us love them even more. I’ve read about their growth and their struggles and still cannot wait to read more about them.
I can say that this is the first book series that I have not gotten bored with a SINGLE time. There is always something going on that changes the characters trajectory in one way or another.
Violet, Ryon, Mariun, and Nox are a wonderfully written set of characters who work very well together. Also not leaving out the appearances of our loved characters we’ve lost in the first book ♥️
Amber L. Werner is one hell of an author who I will always be excited for when they release another novel or novella.
So honoured to have been chosen to read this book as an arc. I literally devoured it. Couldn’t put it down. The story flowed so flawlessly from the first book it’s a master piece. The character development and growth in this book is amazing. I loved getting to learn the motivation behind each character and it made me love them more.
The new characters that were introduced? They stole my heart. The banter and sass make these characters relatable and so real. The slow burn romance and realization for the power of love is ✨ chefs kiss ✨ The adventure is epic and keeps you on your toes. And the world building is immaculate. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a fantasy that pulls you into the world. Go out there and read this series!! Cannot wait for the next one!
A wonderful mix of dramatic and action-packed, sweet and romantic, and emotional and heartfelt. This book has everything packed into one.
In this book, I loved the journey the characters go on, both physically and mentally. I was so invested in watching one character in particular develop and tell her story. They go on epic adventures together and I feel like I as the reader was with them all the way.
There's no end to the drama and jeapardy in the story. This is a very hard book to put down.
I would highly recommend this to someone who likes vivid descriptions, non-stop adventure, some romance but the plot isn't driven by it, lots of emotional moments, a wonderful cast of characters, and dragons.
Oh this book made me so happy! I finished the first one, and needed just a little more, and this one delivered! I was so happy to get more details and see the author really dive into the intricacies of the MCs and their relationships with each other.
The maturity in these relationships is beautiful, and I love that in this book, we get to see more into the magical bonds between animals and humans.
Overall, plot was there and it grew, and there were unexpected twists toward the ends that I just loved! It also left room for the unresolved issues to be addressed in the third installment of this series. I can’t wait to see how this story ends!
I devoured this book as an e-ARC pre-release. As usual, Amber Werner knocks it out of the park, weaving a wonderful story that will leave you turning pages until the sun comes up! In this next installment of the Blood Song Trilogy, we see our favorite heroes continue their adventure from book 1 — but there are unforeseen obstacles they’ll have to overcome in order to find the dragon eggs, and that’s just the beginning of their problems. Evil has returned, and it might even be worse than before. I loved the twists and turns this one took, the relationships that developed, and cannot wait for the next one!
I overall really enjoyed this sequel and am excited for the next installment! Questions were answered, only for more questions to start forming along the way which I truly enjoy. I really enjoy Violet and Ryon; especially their growth as they move forward on this adventure. Nox was probably my least favorite this round as I feel he is too rash to the point I was getting slightly perturbed by him. I am hoping for some growth from him as we go into the next round. Plot is interesting and unique to me. I find it moving forward fairly well without being able to completely figure out what is going to happen which is refreshing.
Thank you Amber for this copy of the ARC I was so so happy to get back into this story!! We pick up where we left off in BFL with our characters sailing away from Thalassia in search of dragon eggs. We get a bit more romance this go round with plenty more slow burn, more animal companions, WE GET DRAGONSSSSS THIS BOOK, and as usual more absolutely jaw dropping moments. Some of the major plot lines from BFL were resolved or we learned more about them. I cannot wait for the next one. I’m trying to keep this spoiler free obvs. Everyone should read this series because so far I’m in loooooove. 🫶🏻
I really enjoyed this book! The difference between the first book and the second was like night and day. The writing was fantastic, and the character development felt really well thought out. I loved the progression of the story and the unexpected twists. The surprise moments felt very organic, and so did the foreshadowing. It didn’t feel like the author was screaming from the rooftops what was going to happen next when foreshadowing which was nice. I really enjoyed this journey and can’t wait for the rest!
This Dragons & Mythical Creatures Fantasy is striking. Violet, Ryon, Nox, and Mariun flee from the underwater city towards the dragon eggs. Their enemies: time, the environment, and the masked men from the underwater city.
The trials and tribulations are consistent with those of an epic fantasy adventure. The growing attraction between the couples might exceed the insecurities to which each person adheres. Yet success comes at a price; the story ends on a cliffhanger.
I like how the story picks up almost immediately where it left off in book 1. The action also does not slack off much, so there is not a lull in the story. There are very few breaks between the perils the group encounters. You do see growth in the characters throughout the story, especially in this installment.
There is a slight cliffhanger at the end, but Amber L. Werner of setting up the storyline for the next book!!
OMGosh! What does Jurdan have? He is like a freaking puppet master! You are telling me that "all their free will choices" were pre-planned by him? Is he aware that Marium is not his daughter? What other danger did he send the Queen? Who is the traitor!? How did he manage to create a secret path to Ryon's home and no one knew?
What did the white witch need to show to Violet's parents? So many questions, I am definitely invested and need the rest of the story!

If I could give it more stars I would!! This books picks up right after book 1 ended and it did not suffer from second book lacking syndrome. Violet and her posy continue on their quest and loved watching all their relationships grow along with them. It’s action packed, fast paced, gripping in a I Can’t Put It Down kind of way. This is at the top of my fantasy books for the year and I can’t wait for the final book!!
I thought Bloodfeather Lullaby was good- this?! This was brilliant. Last time I ate a book up this fast, it was ACOWAR. So much world building, so many twists and turns and dots being connected. Ryon and Nox continue to be my favorite and I am at this point DYING for more Ryiolet! I’ll be waiting very impatiently for book 3.
I was given a copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving this review.
I had most of this book read right way! This was a great easy read. I loved the banter back and forth. To me it really seemed that this book was lucky to have two slow burns. But one of which still is unsure of itself the whole time. The magic in this world fascinates me. The few people who have magic. Then you have ones who can have bond mates. And the magic feather, silver and gold! Then you have dragons!!! Who doesn’t love a good story with dragons!!!
Nox, Violet, Ryon, and Mariun are sailing towards Chunks island home in the hopes of finding and hatching the dragon eggs that are located there. Since the Masked are already there, they have to sneak onto the island. On their trip, two distinct couples form. This story is full of action, unwarranted shameful feelings, and romance, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A fantastic second book in this trilogy. New characters were introduced and old characters returned. Violet,Nox,Ryon and Mariun escape and journey to Ryon's homeland after finding Druturions eggs. There is lots of action, twists, turns and surprises. Characters are well developed and engaging. I feel as if I have come to know them. And,of course, the world building is spectacular. I absolutely recommend reading this book!
Probably the best one yet out of this series so far and the series before (Palisade trilogy)! It did take me a minute to get into but once i was hooked, I WAS HOOKED!
Great continuation from book 1, the friendship, the love, the world building! The ending!!! Super excited to read book 3 once it’s ready!!!
I quite enjoyed the story and the characters. I was a little lost at some points in the story as to how the magic system worked as I did not read book 1. As I read though it started falling into place. I found myself hoping for the characters to achieve their goals. I have to say the ending threw me for a loop I didn't see it coming at all. Overall a good book
This was a heartstopping read, packed with fast paced action and twists, and just the right amount of calm to allow us to learn more about the characters and for their bonds to strengthen. The talent of Ms. Werner shines through in this un-putdown-able installment. Can’t wait to read the final book in this trilogy.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this and so excited to delve back into this world! I liked that the story picks up pretty much where book one ended. And the pacing was perfect! I still loveeee the animal companions so much and think it’s such a cool story element.
After that cliffhanger, I cannot wait for the next book!
