A classic western novel from Frank Wheeler with non-stop epic adventure and a blend of western romance
When Jaxon Grim left home at the age of ten after killing a man, he never thought he’d be back. Fifteen years later, his past has come back to haunt him. Known to most folks as the Gunman of Sombrales, Jaxon has spent his entire life trying to make up for the mistakes he made. But his newest adversaries are the most dangerous yet.
Li Wei, the Chinese saboteur, who is prepared his quest for vengeance. Victor Bloodstone, the railroad tycoon who is the object of Li’s vendetta. His greed has cost countless lives, but now it’s his own life that hangs in the balance.
Jaxon is on a mission to stop these men before they can destroy anyone else.
Especially Savannah Steele.
When people look at her they only see a soiled dove. When Jaxon looks at her he sees the girl he used to love. But when faced with enemies as cunning as they are ruthless, will Jaxon's resolve be enough to save them all? Or will he be forced to make the ultimate sacrifice in the battle for justice?
Each novel in the series is a standalone western which can be read out of order.
If I had kept count of the number of men the two heroes killed in gunfights where they were outnumber at least 8 to 12 against two and walked away virtually unscathed I would guess it to be at least 50. Apparently there were no lawmen in a town where you could gun down a dozen men and walk away like leaving dirty dishes for a waitress to collect. There was no need to be so over the top. The plot and the story, had it been a little stronger, would have been better if not for how the bad guys were worse shots than Star Wars stormtroopers.
Excellent picture of what can happen and most of the times does when we run away from what we are imagining as a turning point in our lives . Have faith in your family and friends
Too Few wounds for the number of opponents and too many times. For everyone to survive. Will read one more if that style continues. Goodby Frank Wheeler
