Kathryn Andrews is a #1 Inspirational Romance Bestselling Author who loves stories that end with a happily ever after. She started writing at age seven and never stopped. Kathryn is known for Chasing Clouds, the Starving for Southern series, and her much loved Hale Brothers series. Her stories are sweet, southern, and fall into the genres of chi-lit, contemporary romance, sports romance, and southern fiction.

Kathryn graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Biology and Chemistry, and currently lives in Tampa, Florida. She spends her days as a sales director for a medical device company and her nights lost in her love of fictional characters.

When Kathryn is not crafting beautiful worlds that incorporate some of her most favorite real life places, she can be found hanging out with her husband and two young sons, while drinking iced coffee and enjoying the sun.

A note from the author...

Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.

Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.

I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.

I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!

My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!

I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.

I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.

So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.

I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.

In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.

Find something that you love and tell yourself, “I do, therefore I am.”

This was a second chance romance that evokes all the feelings.
Sophie and Jonah had one night together that they thought was the beginning of their forever, but fate threw them a curveball and Jonah became the guardian of his little niece.
Now, two years later, they are reunited and Jonah is ready to fight for forgiveness and grovel before Sophie.

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cute second chance book with some heavy topics!

I’m not a fan of second chance but this one made sense, and they only knew each other for one night so it wasn’t too bad.

Jonah and Sophie met two years ago, had amazing chemistry and a great night before Jonah gets a call the next day that his brother and sister in law have died, leaving his niece for him to take care of. He doesn’t tell Sophie about this - he’s overwhelmed and doesn’t want to bring a stranger into it, so she thinks he just ghosted her.

I found it a little unbelievable that she never knew about his brother because they have mutual friends. They address it in the book and are surprised she doesn’t know but I didn’t totally believe that part because their mutual friend very often looks after Jonah’s niece Vivi and I feel like it would’ve come up.

Besides that, it was cute watching them start to date and watch Vivi warm up to Sophie. Vivi felt wise beyond her years, and they had plenty of tear worthy moments of bonding and grief.

Also - they’re both celibate during separation which I love in a second chance. Jonah has been with no one, Sophie was casually dating a guy but they’re basically friends and only kissed a few times.

The middle lagged a bit for me and the end conflict wasn’t my favorite and I felt like it bordered on annoying miscommunication, but I’m glad they got there in the end.

Overall, it was cute but infused with emotional moments and I enjoyed it.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m declaring myself, from now on, a fan of Kathryn Andrews.
This book is about burden of the grieve when is not healed and, the power of healing with friends, family and love. How important love is, and healthy love, of course.
The main characters are Sophie and Jonah. They met at a New Years Eve party and had a strong connection that night. But Jonah, a football player whose life made a drastic turn when his brother and sister-in-law died in an accident, leaving her five-year-old daughter with him as her guardian. Two years later, they are still struggling to overcome that fatal event. That’s when Sophie came back into their lives.
This book is very sweet, but very honest at the same time with hard topics. More than twice some tears came out. I could talk about how everybody will fall in love with Jonah, because he’s a cinnamon roll boy with a golden (and broken heart), sincerely, how can anyone resist him? And Sophy, smart, loving and warm. Another golden heart. The found family the got, all the friends that appeared in the book, they’re funny and kind.
When I read this book, I couldn’t help but remember other books that I loved with those same vibes, so, if you liked “In the jam” by Kate Canterbary, or “Things we never got over” by Lucy Score, you’re going to love this book. I can’t wait to the next one (Tyler, declare my love to you 😆).
Tropes you can find in this book:
- Sport romance
- Second chance romance
- No 3rd act break-up
- Found family
- Single guardian

This book is an open-door book with spicy scenes and some dirty talk (low spicy, in my opinion, but great quality)
My ratings:
4,5/5⭐️ 1/5🌶️
I’d like to thank the author, Kathryn Andrews and Emma Gilmore from “the author agency” for this arc and allowed me to give my sincere opinion.

I’ve been trying to come up with the proper words to convey how Wildflowers and Wide Receivers made me feel … and failing miserably. But I’ll do my best. The short answer is it made me FEEL ALL THE THINGS.

The book starts off on a note of grief. Jonah’s now the guardian of his niece due to a tragedy, and that sense of loss extends to his life in many senses—not the least of which is his fledgling attraction to Sophie. Though their timing was not meant to be. Oh, my heart!

Fast forward a few years and he runs into Sophie again as part of his care of Vivi (niece), who is now an understandably withdrawn child.

But that’s the start of the story.

This book is about recovery, healing, grace, joy, and most of all love. It’s about family—the family you’re born with and the one you adopt as part of your life. Especially here, with an entire boisterous and supportive NFL team as brothers.

Plus, I mean, Jonah’s hot, mature, kind, and sweet.

I think my eyes were misty for most of this book and my heart was full. It’s a comfort and an absolute pleasure to read.

“One day, she was”

Sophie and Jonah have one night together before everything takes a turn and Jonah is thrown into parenthood.

2 years later, Sophie and Jonah see each other again and the stars start to align.
Sophie is Jonah’s nieces orthopedic doctor.
Jonah is a professional wide receiver who is about to get a second chance at the girl who he let go.

This book hit something deep with me.
My mother died when I was 9 and Sophie talking about her mom dying to Vivi who’s mom also died, made me cry.
This book puts you through all the emotions and that little girl deserved all the love that Jonah and Sophie could give.
She’s surrounded by this found family of Jonah’s teammates too who just want to love her and Jonah.

And Jonah, just wanting what’s best for Vivi was everything.
And learning about why the book was titled this, made me love Jonah even more.

This book is about having the unexpected happening and finding new dreams along the way.
I’m a new reader of Kathryn Andrews and this will definitely not be my last of hers.
I can’t wait for the next one.

Jonah is perfection… Sophie has the emotional IQ of a potato

This was a hard read because frankly- I don’t like Sophie. And when I started to change my mind and think she redeemed herself- she went back to being unlikable 🫣 Jonah is the golden retriever, and Vivi is just precious. They absolutely carried this book. I’m pretty sure Jonah is all the perfect boyfriend traits rolled into one, and he managed to reach that level at a relatively young age while also being a professional athlete and NOT a manwhore. 😳 Unheard of anymore, so kudos to the author for gifting us with that. Both of them are celibate in their 2 year separation btw! 👏 And all the local Tampa references were a treat. The team group texts were a riot as well. I’d have rated it much higher if Sophie wasn’t a self centered shrew.

Two years ago Jonah and Sophie have an earth moving ONS and in the morning make plans to get together that night again. Both have feelings of “this is the one!” Only as he’s leaving his phone starts blowing up because his brother and SIL were killed by a drunk driver. He rushes off to be with the young niece that he is now left raise, and doesn’t tell Sophie he’s not coming back over. At 24 years old he suddenly becomes a single dad to a traumatized and broken hearted little girl without a moment’s hesitation. Sophie totally ridiculously overreacts at being stood up, and *THAT DAY* rather than ask their mutual friends if he is ok, or even anything about him (like maybe a phone number?), decides instead to delete all social media and climb under a proverbial rock because she’s SO hurt that he didn’t show up. 🙄 And never looks into him again.

Somehow we are to believe that she never got the news even though he’s a local professional athlete, the team and community rallied to support him, the media photographed him crying that morning in the airport when news about his brother was released, and her best friend regularly babysits his niece because her own spouse is on the same team. 🙄 But she never caught any wind or crossed paths for two years?? Sure, Jan.

Although to be fair, she’s a very self centered person, so I guess if anyone could be so oblivious it would be her. Even AFTER learning what happened she still made it about herself, comparing herself to a rutabaga and saying she was out of sight and out of mind, and how dare he decide to be interested in her NOW that he’s had two years to start to get his feet back under him? She was more important than his grief and niece apparently 🙄. BUT WHAT ABOUT ME?!

She’s also casually dating a coworker that she treats like dirt for the first part of the book. It’s a very chaste bland relationship that she doesn’t even consider an actual relationship- just sort of loosely dating. The guy has been like a desperate puppy for months waiting for her to show any signs of interest, but unless he does all the work she is a robot and does nothing. They’ve never more than kissed and she has never invited him to her home. In fact, even when they are together she is internal monologuing about other things and not present anyway. And then when he calls her out she has the nerve to be shocked.

“Let me give you a few examples. At work, you never come and find me to ask me about my day.”
“That’s because I know you’ll come find me,” I answer quickly.

She’s a real catch 🙄

There was a scene where she had the most perfect interactions with Vivi, and I felt like she totally redeemed herself. Unfortunately she followed it up by being completely obliviously self centered again and ruined the redemption. She continues the behavior until the bitter end. This is an educated intelligent woman, yet she has the emotional intelligence of a prepubescent tween. At 33 years old she should be more self aware and less clueless. She continues to make selfish decisions with zero consideration for anyone else. Why would she bother telling Jonah she’s going to a job interview across the country? Gee, maybe because you’re in a relationship? And before you started it he made sure you knew you had to be all in or not because Vivi has lost enough. 🤦‍♀️ But nope. She lies about where she’s going, never tells him anything about her lifelong plans of moving back to MN, then acts caught off guard when he’s devastated. Her own father finally shares that he’s in a serious relationship he’s kept a secret from her, and she manages to turn that around into a “what about me?” moment. It’s exhausting.

Oof. Anyway - Jonah was head over heels for her which so the only reason I support their HEA. Frankly he is such a catch I felt like he deserved someone who actually appreciated how amazing he is.

3.5 stars, it’s a sweet story but a little too sweet. I didn’t realize until the end that I only had 1 highlight, so that speaks volumes:

“His eyes find mine, and he smiles so big. It’s easy to see that it's genuine, and he’s happy to see me. With that smile, the butterflies in my stomach enthusiastically flap their wings like they’re waving. They’re happy to see him too.”

Spoilers ahead:

They start out with a 1 night stand and then his world falls apart. But as they start reuniting, it’s like- why did it take 2 years? In the same circles with the same friends?
It’s like the author gave it time for Vivi and Jonah to heal but it didn’t feel realistic.

And we may hear Sophie’s POV but not many words seem to come out of her mouth when it comes to the scene at the end.
Jonah is hurting and she doesn’t rush to assure him. Psycho move I think :)

It’s all wrapped up with a tiny 3rd scene quasi breakup but not really since hey- she is staying.

As a reader, it seemed to drag about halfway through with all the conversations with Vivi rather than themselves.

They have more sex but I skimmed, it’s hard to sit there and read all the thoughts going through her head during sexy times- too much.

OH- and they go bareback immediately, no condoms or discussion of safe sex ( for a DOCTOR?) or birth control.
Didn’t even chat other than “you were my last sexual partner”. Major Peeve of mine.

It’s just too sweet. Jonah is terribly sweet and wonderful, Camille, the football “family”, her Dad, Issac- the list goes on…

When the prologue had me crying, I knew this was going to be a great one. The story gripped me instantly and I’m having trouble letting it go (in a good way).

Two years prior, Jonah and Sophie met at a party and instantly hit it off. The very next morning, he was hit with an unimaginable tragedy. Suddenly, he found himself a single dad to his little niece and felt like he had to let Sophie go.

Fate had other plans for them. They meet again and while Jonah wants nothing more than to pick up where they left off, his first priority is Vivi. Sophie never understood why he disappeared on her so could she trust him again?

All three of them had a beautiful bond. Vivi was never meant to be Jonah’s but he was determined to be the best father could be to Vivi. I loved Sophie’s relationship with Vivi. She helped the little girl find joy again. Jonah and Sophie were perfect for each other. Also, the team’s group chats were hilarious and I need more of them!

It is absolutely no secret that Kathryn Andrews is one of my favorite authors of all time. I have been reading her books for over a decade now, and she has consistently delivered phenomenal romances that have stolen my heart, that have given me unforgettable and dynamic characters, and that have brought to life the most consuming love stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading. She is one of my favorite authors for a reason and every time I start to read one of her books I just fall in love with her writing and what she creates with her character so authentically. When I sit down to read a book by her, I know I’m going to feel and live and experience every breath of what she creates and that is honestly just part of what I love about her books so much.

From the very first page of Wildflowers and Wide Receivers, I was addicted. I was hooked. I was consumed. I was in it with all that I had with these characters. Jonah and Sophie stole my heart. From that very first moment, from that very first night of the two of them, I was in it with them. I was invested. I was ready to get everything with them. I was here for it all. That just shows you what this author creates from the very start that you feel that in your heart and soul from that very first page. There is just truly something right about them. Those two are soulmates. They are the definition of right person wrong time. They are two people who have an incredible night, who lose touch for the most heartbreaking reason, and who find themselves back together again with a second chance at it all.

And that second chance? It’s absolutely beautiful.

It’s authentically and so breathtakingly real and emotional. It’s romantic and spicy and utterly unforgettable. It’s special and sweet and just so so good. It’s them. It’s them in the BEST way, and I truly can’t say enough, how much I lived for every breath of their second chance together.

This book is all about what happens when the most unexpected things happen in your life. It’s about how you pick yourself up when everything feels lost and broken. It is a story about accepting what feels right and fighting for what you want and need with your whole heart. It is a story of discovery that letting go of what you thought would be will sometimes bring you to the place you were always meant to be.

This is a story full of heart, full of longing and connection, full of joy and heartache and second chances. It is a story of two people who have a deeply felt connection finding their way back to one another at the exact right time they’re meant to do it. It is a story of the beginning of a family, the beginning of a possibility, the beginning of more. It is a story that will truly touch every part of your heart, and that will have you believing in the magic of love and second chances.

Simply put, Wildflowers and Wide Receivers is an emotionally unforgettable and deeply romantic story of 2 people finding their way back to each other at the exact right time when their hearts are ready to see what could be.

Now I have to say that Jonah and Sophie stole my heart from the very start of this book. I’ve said that already and I could say it a million times over and it still wouldn’t be enough. Because when I tell you, I was so wholeheartedly invested in them, pulled into everything with them, and rooting for the two of them with all that I had, I mean that so much. I loved these two. I loved who they were as people. I loved what this book showed with them. I loved getting all of the pieces of them and who they were and who they wanted to be and everything in between. I love that. I just felt like they were so real and I just got them. This author allows you to get them and understand them in every way and it’s just very special. It allows you to feel like you’re living this book with them and that just enhances everything you get with them.

Those two are truly soulmates. They are two halves of the the same whole who were always meant to find their way back to each other. They definitely have hurdles to overcome and many a conversation to be had, but what I loved about the two of them is they were always willing to put in the work. They were always willing to show up. They were always willing to be grown ups and figure it out because they knew that there was something very special about the other. They knew that there was something very real happening between them. And even when it scared them out of their minds, even when it felt like things were stacked against them, and even when they weren’t sure what would come next, they always showed up, they were always honest, and they always felt what they did with their whole heart in the most real way.

I just loved how real everything about them and with them felt, and I really can’t say it enough. Jonah and Sophie are truly something special. I loved getting to know them and love them and experience every high and low with them. It truly felt like I was right there with Kathryn. Andrews brought it to life, and my heart cannot be more in love with what they delivered. Their story is romantic and fiery and won’t and full of life and personality, and so much heart, and I was swept up into it all in the most amazing way. I truly never wanted to leave those two because everything I got with them was incredibly beautiful, so beyond emotional and sweet and romantic, and just everything my heart needed.

I also have to say that opening up into a new series and world of characters, while also getting to revisit some very special characters from the past from this author was a delight. I am not a sports person, but I do love me a good sports romance, and this is one of the best I have read. It incorporates all the football fun, all the teammate banter and humor, and it just opens up into a world and team that I want every moment with. The guys on the team felt like my new best friends, and I am ready for every single one of them to get a book. I also loved that this story had so many connections to past characters that I fallen in love with because of this author and her words. It just felt like one big family coming together and it was everything.

I can’t say that enough.

I truly have no doubt that this series will be one of my all-time favorites. This book has already firmly cemented itself as one of my top reads of the year, and I am already chomping at the bit for more. I loved how fun this story was. I loved that there was such heart and emotion and connection to everything these characters shared. I loved that this author once again completely stole my heart with a story and a world of characters from the very first word of her book. I loved that I believed in these characters, everything they shared, and every possibility of what could be. I loved that I felt so in this story that I laughed and cried and melted and wounded and just loved every morsel and moment I got with every character in this world. it was truly unforgettable and all feeling and every other incredible thing under the sun.

It was truly the best, and the reading experience and absolute joy I got with these characters throughout this book and love story is something I will never forget.

Wildflowers and Wide Receivers is Kathryn Andrews at her best. It is an impeccably written and crafted love story that will steal your heart, that will bring you into a world you will never want to leave, and that will show you how meant to be Jonah and Sophie are. Years ago they shared a memorable night and this is their second chance at all. That second chance is woven together and the most beautiful and incredible and just absolutely, fantastic way that will have you believing in everything with the two of them. They are just so so special, and so so right for each other, and getting to see them finally find that right time together and put their hearts on the line was absolute perfection.

Just like the rest of this book.

If there is one book you read this year, it should be this one. Jonah and Sophie leave it all on the pages of this book and show you their hearts in th most authentic and beautiful way, and you will love it. You will love them. You will love the possibilities of what they create and the love that blooms and second chances. You will love every bit of spark and sweetness and swoon. You will just love them and this team and this world and a little girl who brings them back together at the exact right time. This story culminates a romance that truly feels written in the stars, and you will love every second of what you get with these two as they find their way back to one another.

Trust me.

Jonah and Sophie and Vivi are the real deal, and you will love and cherish every bit of this story with them and every other character who is ready to steal your heart in this book. I promise you that! Because I know I did. I loved this book with my whole heart, and I honestly just wish I could go back and read it again for the first time because the magic and love and spark and beauty of what you get to experience so naturally and authentically with these characters is truly everything in the best way.

Kathryn Andrews has once again delivered an incredible romance in this book that will steal your heart in every way. Her words create something that is so very special and utterly incredible because she lays it all on the line and infuses that into what she gives you with her characters. She puts so much heart into the story and gives you everything and then some. She just makes it all between Sophie & Jonah feel so real, so true, and just so them in the most dynamic and genuine way possible.

There is so much more I could tell you about why you need to read this book, but honestly, you just need to go read it. You need to read it and experience it and just fall hopelessly in love with these characters and how special they are. From the moment you meet them, you will feel that and know that and just love them. I promise. And in the end, you will just be blown away by what you get with their love story because it is truly the best and the epitome of what a love story should be.

I truly can’t say that enough.

Jonah & Sophie had one beautiful night together before everything in Jonah's life changed. All of a sudden he was a single guardian of his 5 year old niece. Two years later, Sophie ends up being the doctor of his niece, Vivi. Sophie was hurt because Jonah up and disappeared and she never heard from him again. But once they talk, maybe they have could a second chance.

I absolutely adore Jonah. He's such a golden retriever. Jonah & Sophie are really just so good together. You can just FEEL how much they love each other. I loved how good he was with Vivi. He loved her & protected her just like she was his. There was a lot of grief discussed in this book and it really resonated with me. It went through a lot of different journeys... the grief, the healing, the love. Sophie & Vivi developed such a beautiful relationship and I really felt like she helped heal something that was hurting inside of Vivi. Jonah's football brothers were absolutely amazing. I especially loved his relationship with Tyler. They just all rallied around him and helped him take care of Vivi. This was a sweet, heartwarming read with low drama but still definitely pulled on the heartstrings.

"That night, your soul spoke to mine and together they whispered soulmate." SWOON.

Wildflowers and Wide Receivers is the first book I have read from Kathryn and overall I really enjoyed it. This is the story of Jonah and Sophie. As soon as I read the prologue I knew this was going to be a great book.

Sophie and Jonah meet at a NYE party and spend one night together, with plans for another…. However fate had other plans and Jonah’s world gets turned around with a tragedy, leaving him not only grief stricken but now also the sole guardian to his 5-year old niece , Vivi.

Two years have now passed

They meet again and while Jonah wants to pick up and see where things can lead, his first main concern and focus is Vivi. But the chemistry with them is instantaneous, like time was never missed and when Sophie finally learns the truth of what happened 2 years ago, she opens her heart to him and vivi.

This is a story around family, not necessarily the one we are born into , or one we are related to, but it’s the one we choose . ViVi, Jonah and Sophie have chosen each other as family. This story also deals with grief, and overcoming grief, loss and how we choose to heal.

Overall a great story that had me engaged from the prologue. This won’t be my last book from Kathryn.

This book was fantastic! I love books that just pull me into the storyline, the characters quickly feel like longtime friends and the story just flows with emotions, spice, a little angst and humor.

Jonah and Sophie had one perfect night together that effected both of them and then life happened and they missed out on more than two years of time. When life brings them back into each other’s orbit both are drawn together. I loved the overlap where a few of his teammates’ spouses were Sophie’s friends. There is a sense of inevitability yet their reconnecting not happening until the right time.

The interactions between Jonah and Vivi/Wildflower are so poignant and sweet, and show Jonah to be an amazing man. Swoon worthy!

Sophie had designated a plan to work hard and get herself through medical school, residency and then to find a position back home. Her dilemma with finding herself after achieving her goals really resonated with me.

I definitely want to read more books by this author and will be setting an alert for Tyler’s book in 2025.

I received a free ARC from the author and The Author Agency; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Jonah Dallmann met Sophie Black on New Year's Eve and hit it off. They spent the night together and had planned on getting together later that day. When Jonah left her place he had a voicemail that turned his life around. At 24 he's now a single parent to his little niece Vivi (Vivianne) or as he calls her Wildflower.

Two years have passed since that happened and he never did contact Sophie to tell her what happened. She thinks he ghosted her. His heart has ached that he never got that chance and then the time just slipped away.

Vivi is now seven and doing dance. Jonah got a call that she was hurt and is taken to see a pediatric orthopedic doctor. Guess the surprise to both when Dr. Sophie Black turns out to be the doctor to see Vivi. Sophie thinks it's his daughter.

They are thrown together through their mutual friends. Vivi really likes Sophie and the feeling is mutual. He wants another chance but she's dating someone.
Will he ever get that chance?

Loved this book! This is a first time author for me and won't be the last. I was drawn in from the very beginning and it's such an emotional piece. Loved his teammates and can't wait for Tyler's book.

This book was fantastic! This was the first book I’ve read by the author and it was so good! I loved the authors writing style as well.

Second chances are a hit or miss for me but this one hit! I really felt for each character and I loved watching their journey. Jonah and Sophie had an instant connection but a tragic event made Jonah have to forget about his amazing connection. Two years later their paths cross again but this time Jonah is not letting her get away. Jonah is the guardian of his brother’s child, Vivi and she is just so cute. I really felt for her and her grief. I loved the connection that Sophie and Vivi built and how she trusted her. I also adored the side characters. Tyler was a great friend and so was Camille.

Overall I really enjoyed this second chance romance!

I met Kathryn at a signing event and she was the absolute sweetest person. When the opportunity popped to sign up for an ARC of Wildflowers and Wide Receivers, I jumped at the chance. I am so glad I did!

This is my first book by Kath, but definitely won't be my last. This book had me in my feels. I cried and laughed. I fell in love with the characters and team chats. I fell in love with this found family. This book was incredible. Jonah and Sophie were perfect. Throw in the sweet Vivi and you have a story I'll probably never forget.

The side characters in this series are great, too. I am already looking forward to seeing what's to come.

I'd give more than 5 stars on this one if I could.

So I finished late last night and omg! Kathryn had me crying in the first 3 pages of the book, by the 4th chapter then the middle and… I almost cried the whole book ok! It was so cute and dare I say just a beautiful story. You will laugh, roll your eyes and just smile the whole time. Definitely 5 stars 🌟 for me.

Jonah is the best uncle-dad there is! Stepping up for his niece and becoming a girl dad..ugh let go of my heart strings please 😩. His openness and rawness about his emotions makes him that much more better. Sophie is just ambitious and level headed. Focus on one goal and she completes it an on to the next, until she meets Jonah!!

Tropes:
Love at first sight
Found family
Single dad
Football / sports
He falls first

This story follows Jonah and Sophie and covers a bit of time. Jonah and Sophie met at a New Year’s party and what they might have thought was going to be a one stand, had the makes of more. And then life got in the way. Tragedy struck Jonah and now he is taking care of his niece.

Flash forward two years later and the universe seems to be doing everything it can to put Jonah and Sophie back into each other’s orbit. What follows is an adorable story about second chances and the risks that you should be willing to take if you have found the one.

This is a cute second chance romance without a doubt. If you are looking for something on the rom com side of things, look no further than this book right here.

Single (dad) guardian

4.5 stars

This is my first book by this author, and I was so impressed. She had my heart in her hands from the first chapter. These characters were so well written and full of personality. I appreciated that we get so much of Vivi in this story. So many times, in a single parent/guardian romance the child is not featured much, but that was not the case here. I just wanted to grab her and hug her so many times. Sophie and Jonah had so much chemistry and their story was a beautiful one. The timing and relationship progression was well done and I look forward to more from this author/series in the future.

Wow, just wow.

This is my first read by Kathryn and boy I’m so glad I got the opportunity to read her work.

This book was so beautifully written I finished it in one sitting I couldn’t put the thing down, that’s how good it was.

It was so sweet, cute and heartwarming everything about this book was so good I loved every second of it.

Jonah was so freaking sweet the guy was amazing and I loved him and my heart was breaking for him and Vivi, and I loved their relationship and how he was the kind of uncle to step up and be there for her.
Sometimes I forgot he was her uncle and not her father that’s how great he was.

And his relationship with his teammates was so freaking sweet I loved reading them together they were supportive and kind and hilarious.

And Sophie was the kind of woman you want by your side she was so sweet and loving and kindhearted.
I loved her dtrong personality and intelligence and it was so sweet to read how her relationship with Vivi developed. It was so lovely to see that she and Jonah put her first and I loved that.

This was a great read. It was sweet and easy to read and I loved Kathryn writing so much and I’m gonna be waiting for Tyler story ( not so patiently now ) 😂🫣

I enjoy my second chance at love stories and Jonah Dallmann and Sophie Black’s story ticked a number of boxes for me.

After an unforgettable night, tragedy struck and Jonah’s life changed forever.
Now fate has put them in one another’s path again.

An emotional read that tugged at my heart and gave me all the feels.

4 🌟, 2🌶 , This book started out with a terrible loss to one of the characters and the author did a great job of connecting the reader to the characters and the pain they were going through. That is not easy as the reader generally has little connection to the characters right off the bat.The MMC is a pro football player and the FMC is a doctor. They have a one night stand then tragedy interrups. Two years later they meet again but there is water under the bridge and feelings need to be sorted out. He falls first and harder and she has goals that may not lend themselves to a long term relationship. I loved the emotional aspects, the banter between the team players and their journey to a HEA.

I received this gifted ebook from the author.

**Wildflowers & Wide Receivers**

Kathryn Andrews delivers some of her best writing in this story.

The narrative is rich with emotion, addressing grief and loss in an authentic and dignified manner while still incorporating lightness, love, and humor. The characters are so well-developed that you can't help but fall in love with them. True to Andrews' style, the Florida setting is charming and vividly described, you can almost smell the salt in the air and feel the sand between your toes. This second-chance romance is one you don't want to miss.

These characters had such a unique emotional story. I love so much that they kept running into each other everywhere and getting to know each other better. I also love that it was the “right person wrong time” trope and they’ve both been thinking about each other for years. 🤩

This was my first book by Kathryn, and it certainly will not be my last. I was drawn in by both the cover and the title of this book, and when it becomes clear why it's called, this is was choked up. We have golden retriever Jonah who unexpectedly becomes the guardian of his niece when he is only 24. He is playing professional football, and then he becomes the sole parent of a heartbroken 5 year old named Vivi whom he calls Wildflower.

2 years pass, and Jonah runs into a one night stand he hasn't been able to forget about, and neither has she. Sophie is an orthopedic dr who is taking care of Vivi, and it brings up her past with Jonah. These two shared an incredible night that unknown to Sophie also happens to be the worst day of Jonahs life losing his family.

With some meddling football players, these two spend time together healing and falling for each other. Vivi is absolutely adorable, and I love how she clings to both Jonah and Sophie in different ways. I couldn't put this book down.
