You don't have to read the whole book but can choose from a variety of essays: history of dream research, current theories, dreams and psychopathology, etc... The best thing about this book is the references to further works on dreams by researchers: Freud, Adler, Jung, Lowy, Richard M. Jones, Montague Ullman, etc...
