"Where would you like to travel? The aquarium, the amusement park, the great outdoors, the hot springs… Make a plan and pack your little bag! The cute kitties of Mofusand have conquered Japan and now, they're taking a trip! Incredible illustrator Juno brings the lives and travels of these cats to life in Falling In Love with a Traveling Cat!"
3.5/5 Thank you to NetGalley for the arc. A little book full of adorable illustrations of cats traveling all across Japan, with many pages of what the prefectures are known for, souvenir gifts, and popular foods with explanations for what they are. Very cute, but more educational about Japan than I was expecting. I much preferred the pages where they just traveled and did things. Overall though, very cute picture book.
My thanks to NetGalley and UDON Entertainment for an eARC of this book to read and review.
Ok, unpopular, I read this wrong, opinion time.
My first thought when I finished this was, "That's it?" It left me feeling hollow and slightly uncomfortable. I didn't understand the point of the book, unless it was just to draw kittahs being all adorable and very lightly trying to tie the pictures together in a coherent storyline. (IMHO, the attempt at a coherent storyline failed, badly. YMMV)
The cats drinking the boba tea, HEARTGOESSQUEE!!!
Cats in bikinis and maid costumes and coconut shells...creepy and slightly disconcerting.
2, recommended if you love adorably drawn pictures of cats, stars.

My six-year-old loves cats and knew I wanted to read this with her and we both absolutely loved it! I don't think she loved the parts with the food where the creator showcases a variety of prefectures with the food they are known for, but I thought it was a wonderful way to share about a variety of dishes and meals! It felt like a fun way to learn about Japanese culture and I loved it a lot personally!
However, everything else she deeply loved, and do feel the first three chapters or so are the strongest and most fun! Seeing the cats at the aquarium was absolutely adorable!
I would definitely recommend this to children and adults! It's a really fun illustration book that makes you feel happy with all the cute things these cats are doing!

This little book of cats is absolutely adorable, literally every single page made me go, “awwwww!” It was such a charming collection of kitties on vacation, eating food, dressed as tourists, and adventuring around Japan. My favorite was finding the prefecture my family is from, it was a wonderful book!
Thank you Juno, Udon Entertainment, and NetGalley for this beautiful ARC, I love it so much!
Cuteness overload! This was the most adorable collection of illustrations / loose stories about traveling cats. There’s cat illustrations with a sentence or two on each page as they travel around Japan, going to an aquarium, a penguin cafe, the beach, eating lots of food and even going to the sauna. There are adorable “mofustagram” posts at the end of each chapter.
On top of being a cute little book, it’s also quite educational - there are cats eating several Japanese dishes, a few pages of regional cats (dressed up in different costumes, sort of Sonny Angel style) - all highlighting different aspects of Japan and Japanese culture.
This is more of an art book than a graphic novel or manga. If you like the cover and style of illustration, I highly recommend picking it up. I would frame so many of these adorable illustrations.
Oh my gosh, my heart! This book is so, so cute. I first encountered the Mofusand cats from their collaboration with Uniqlo, but after traveling to Japan recently, they seem to be everywhere now.
Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat is a fun manga about the travels of the Mofusand cats - what they pack, the different places they travel to with each cat dressed as a symbol of the different cities, and my favorite part, all the specialized, regionally local food they ate on their trip (Fukuoka ramen, yes!).
Definitely read this if you need some cuteness in your life and want to see all the amazing ways cats can be drawn - as food, as cities, as travelers.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if the world was run by adorable little cats instead of hoomans? In this cute, short story we get to see just that through illustrations of Mofusand's well-known and well-loved cats as they take a trip across Japan. This is mostly illustrations with some elementary text to guide the story along on pages here and there. The cats were pudgy and kitten-like in appearance, with varying expressions that made me laugh a few times. I'd rate their squishability as 10/10. Would definitely love to cup their cute, pudgy faces in my hands.
Aside from just traveling along with the cats, we also get a peek inside of Japanese culture, mostly through food, but through other elements as well such as places, history, culture, and animals. This is done by dressing up the cats to represent each specific subject. It's not a deep dive with any details, just the Japanese words and what they mean in English. Any cat lover would appreciate this as well as anyone who is interested in Japan or is trying to teach their little one about Japan.

Oh my goodness this is quite possibly the cutest cat book I’ve ever seen in my life. The illustrations in this are spectacular and you could easily use each and every one as a print to decorate your house with. It’s so wholesome and it made my heart so happy. If you are a catlover this book definitely needs a place in your collection!
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for providing this copy 💖
Thank you Netgalley and UDON entertainment for the ARC!
I was SO happy to get approved for the first Mofusand illustration book! I love Mofusand and cats, and this book was the cutest thing!
In Falling In Love With a Traveling Cat, we follow Mofusand cats on their trip around Japan. Each chapter is an activity, starting with packing! Because even the cute Mofusand cats cannot skip doing and undoing the suitcase! 🤭
I loved learning about Japan through this book as well. The cats wearing the different costumes from the different prefectures and trying out all the yummy food were so adorable. It was so interesting to see all the different costumes and dishes next to each other. I didn’t know about some of them at all!
I hope Mofusand cats can travel in France one day! 💓
This is a lovely read for anyone needing a little cheer-me-up.
Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat is filled from the first to the last page with the most adorable illustrations of cats as they travel to different locations and enjoy different leisure activities. The illustrations are accompanied by short texts informing you about what the cats are eating or wearing, so you can actually learn a bit about Japanese culture and cuisine as well. My absolute favourite is the iwate cat, he's just too cute!
I would recommend this illustration book to any fan of Mofusand, for artists who are looking for inspiration, or for anyone in need of just something wholesome to look at. Who doesn't want a 100 pages of Mofusand cats in their life?
Thank you to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for providing an ARC of this artbook in exchange for my honest review.
The book is more of an art book than a graphic novel or Manga. The overarching story is that the Mofusand kitties all go on vacation. They take the Shinkansen, visit an aquarium, hot springs and the beach, they eat all the food and buy souvenirs. All illustrated in the cutest, most heartwarming way. The Mofusand cats in coconut bras and bikinis is definitely a sight to see.
I loved the illustrated highlights of every Japanese prefectures (in form of cat costumes) and the food that each prefecture is best known for. Now I want to go back to Japan and eat all the things!
This review copy was kindly provided as an ebook by Netgalley but I want to get the paper copy now!
This was SO cute! This an adorable art book filled with Juno Noji's illustrations of Mofusand Japanese cats, traveling, eating, and exploring different parts of Japan. Every page I was audibly saying “Awwwww,” and I think my favorite section was the Marine animals at the aquarium. The penguins!! So precious!! I could see this being a nice table book for friends to peruse or a great gift for cats lovers (like me!) The art style is so lovely, I love the different variations of felines and I think my favorites were the Scottish-folds! Thank you so much for NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for this arc!
First off, many thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this book as an ARC! I greatly appreciate it! I've been reading more graphic novels lately, but I don't think that's what this is. It's more a picture book? Which I kind of expected, but also I thought it'd be more an art book. But you know what? It was cute as hell, so I don't mind one bit! There's the barest semblance of a plot, along with some of the cutest kitties I've ever seen! Do you like cats? Then read this! Five stars out of five for Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat!
Thank you to NetGalley and UDON Entertainment for the E-ARC! This E-ARC was sent to me in exchange for an honest review.
The cutest illustration book I've ever read? This was the epitome of adorable. I recognized every blind box figure, every social media icon. I loved getting to see the sketch-like illustrations and the magnificent colors used. It was pure perfection. Mofusand is one of my all time favorite characters and this was a TREAT!
3 ⭐️ Thanks NetGalley, the author, and publisher for this ARC of Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat. This was very cute book with information about traveling around Japan. To me, it seemed like it was geared to a younger audience and I didn’t realize that at the time. Overall, it was pleasantly enjoyable even though I was very confused for most of the book. I absolute adored the illustrations. Those were the best part.
Brimming over the adorableness, this fun little book has cats heading out for adventure, enjoying tasty treats and meals, engaging in fun activities, and relaxing. It's sweet, it's cute, and it's full of cats. And more cats.
Thank you to Netgalley and to UDON Entertainment for this ARC in exchange for my review.
This here is such a beautifully illustrated book with ultra cute kittens on the pages. Even though the text is kept to a minimum, it still conveys bits and bops of culture here and there. It is perfect for a small flip through in between.
This is an adorable book of cats traveling all over Japan! They start with booking and getting ready for the trip and then go through all the places they visit, foods they eat, etc. It's super cute.

This is a very cute illustration book by JUNO featuring their signature cat illustrations. Each section is divided into themes, whether it be souvenirs from different prefectures of Japan to going to an amusement park. Readers can learn a surprising amount about Japanese culture from this book, especially the food!
While the illustrations are very cute and high quality, I wish there had been full page illustrations of scenes. Instead, we get only small snapshots or cat figures floating in white space. I'm not sure if these are illustrations were all collected from things Juno had already drawn, or if they were made for the book, but I think it would have been more special to include some double page spreads as well as full page illustrations.
Thank you to Udon Entertainment and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for a review!
mofusand always rules. what is there not to love??? we have... Cats in suitcases, cats on the bus, cats with purses, cats in roller skates, cats eating pasta, cat in a butterfly net, cats with fish on their head, cats (and a puppy) in baby swings, cats in coconut bras, cats accurately using chopsticks, cat praying over a plate of curry rice, cats
