Never trust anyone.Once… just once, I ignored my rules. That was all it took for me to foolishly expose my vulnerabilities to Matthew, only to have him reject my offer of the perfect relationship.
My idealistic man still believes in love after everything he’s been through… and he wants me to as well. Every day, a little crack breaks through the façade I’ve built around me. If I don’t stop feeling, everything inside me is going to shatter to pieces that I’ll never be able to put back together.
The kids on Willow Street keep tugging on my heartstrings, while my daughter’s life has me twisted up inside. Then there’s Matthew… He just won’t quit.
When will he understand that love is a foolish dream?
Belladonna has definitely turned into one of my favorite FMCs ever. I love her mix of snark, strength, stubbornness, and then seeing her change to someone who is vulnerable and feels worthy of to give love and receive it.
And Matthew is the ultimate cinnamon roll. I love that he reads Belladonna so well and would do anything for her. Even give her space and time when all he wants to do is make her his forever.
Spending time on Willow Street with everyone just made my heart happy and yet this book still made me cry seeing what some of the characters have to go through.
I also adored spending time with Aleksei (who you meet in the Sweet Redemption series) and Vex (who you get to see when he is older in Dark Love)
I truly don't know what I am going to do with myself until Aurora Darklight/Rora Noir releases the next book. These books have been just what I have needed every time and I already want to read them all over again.
