Wow that's a lot of challenger

How can so many things happen to one family?I'm totally confused -were they cursed ?having to pay back an ancestors sins? But I keep reading cause I like the characters

Fix the front door. Buy some damn mattresses. Learn to communicate with each other. Quit using the same phrases repetitively (spike in the throat, heart folding over).
