EVERWOOD FALLS… a small supernatural community tucked up in the Colorado Rockies where witches, werewolves and vampires can live without fear of discovery, and those with curses they can’t control are sent to keep the existence of magic from being revealed to Mundanes.
Green witch Sage Summers is no stranger to curses. The night her power manifested, the park outside her apartment devoured a strip mall. Classified by the Magic High Council as too dangerous to live in the Mundane world, she’s made a life for herself in Everwood Falls with her organic produce, a weekly stand at the farmer’s market, and the best group of friends a witch could ever hope for. But isolation has also meant the loss of her family, as well as an ex-fiancé who decided to put her and Everwood Falls in his rearview mirror and leave the moment his hex was lifted. Good riddance to bad warlocks. But now that same ex, Dominic Storm, has returned to town with disturbing news. A coven of sirens has had their power stripped from them… and they believe the magic user responsible is hiding in Everwood Falls.
Merman and high school math teacher Gideon Fischer has always been pulled between the merfolk and siren worlds. When someone from his past shows up in Everwood Falls begging for help, he’s forced to confront not only the reasons he left his family and the call of the sea, but also the magic swirling in his half-siren blood. He and Sage Summers are the one equation that keeps him up at night. She’s beautiful, fierce, wickedly powerful… and has more walls guarding her heart than the Great Barrier Reef. As attacks against witches increase, Gideon will need Sage’s help to uncover who is behind the mysterious blood feud between sirens and witches… before someone is seriously hurt.
With a herd of enchanted elk, carnivorous spruce trees, and sentient pumpkins that stalk the local landscaping, Everwood Falls is a quirky mountain town where fangs and fur mean found family.
Everwood Falls has sweet paranormal romances with cozy mysteries and guaranteed HEAs. The series can be enjoyed in order or read as standalones, without needing to read the other books.
Author Kat Kinney writes spicy paranormal romance and heartwarming cozy fantasy. Her books have found family, adorable pets, strong female characters, and happy endings!
She lives with her family and three extremely pampered guinea pigs who do not like werewolves, vampires, or dragons and wonder why their human insists on writing about things that like to eat them. When she isn’t writing about things that bite and howl, Kat can be found knitting crazy socks, puttering about her garden, baking entirely too many pies, and plotting out future books!
It was great being back in Everwood Falls and some great known characters as well as some new interesting ones. Sage Summers is banned life long to Everwood because of her disruptive volatile witch magic. Though it irks her at times that she can never leave to see her family, she's got a great circle of friends. The slow burn between her and Gideon was so romantic. But before happiness the town's people have to deal with dark magic, sirens, murder. Even though her ex fiancé was back in town and looked like the obvious culprit, the reader will be kept guessing with all the twists. A great captivating book with a HEA and hinting Nora, the demon detective, will be next has me drooling in advance. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
I absolutely loved this book! I think my favorite part was Gideon's pining for Sage. Ahhhh, I just love when a man longs for a woman he thinks he'll never have, and the author did a great job making me feel that longing on the page. And Sage wants him too, but my girl has some major walls. I totally get that too! Such a great story in a series I was thrilled to get back to! Highly recommended!
I am a huge fan of Kat Kinney and her fantasy series. I’ve read them all, and I always pre-order the next book so I don’t miss out on a new release. “The Siren's Cursed Kiss”, the third book in the Everwood Falls series, wasn’t an exception. I pre-ordered it months ago and was eagerly looking forward to reading Sage and Gideon’s story.
Everwood Falls is a town up in the mountains somewhere in Colorado. It is quaint and pretty, with picturesque hiking trails and all seasonal festivities celebrated in style. It has a place where the best pizza is served and a café with the most delicious coffee, as well as a paradise for every pet owner with the store’s shelves packed with everything one’s fluffy – or scaly – treasure might need. Everwood Falls has everything to satisfy a human soul. Only… most of its inhabitants aren’t strictly human. And those who are, possess powers beyond ordinary people’s abilities.
The little town is a place where the highest magic authority sends those magic users who’d present a threat if they remained living in the Mundane world. For some, Everwood Falls is a prison. While for others, it is a sanctuary and a home.
Sage is a green witch. Trees and plants are her best friends and also allies and protectors. Don’t try to hurt her if a pumpkin is nearby. You’ll end up face down in the mud.
Sage hasn’t settled down in Everwood Falls of her free will. Her magic manifested rather late in life when everyone had already written her off as one of the untouched. And when it did, it was a disaster. Sage couldn’t control her powers, thus was sent away without the right to visit her family even for Christmas. As if it wasn’t enough to be separated from her loved ones and without a chance to explore the world outside Everwood Falls, a man Sage fell in love with left her, breaking her heart.
And yet, Sage isn’t unhappy. She has made good friends in Everwood Falls, and her garden keeps her busy. She decided to close her heart and never let a man hurt her ever again.
Gideon is a merman. Although he is free to leave Everwood Falls, which being far from the ocean doesn’t seem to be a perfect fit for him, the ties connecting him to the quirky town have grown too strong. Moreover, the complications that had forced him to leave his home and family on the coast ceased to be the main reason why he wants to stay. And although Sage had announced at once that they can only be friends, it is enough for Gideon to not even contemplate leaving.
Just when Sage and Gideon begin settling into a friendly routine, with cosy dinners at Sage’s cottage and watching Netflix together, sinister things begin to happen. Everwood Falls isn’t a place that can stay quiet and trouble-free for long. Too many supernaturals per square meter guarantee that someone regularly stirs its peace.
People from both Sage’s and Gideon’s pasts show up in Everwood Falls and complicate the life of the whole town. As the title of the book implies, sirens are involved. And I must say, despite a layer of refinement modern times have forced upon these sea creatures, they still are as vicious as we remember them from Greek myths.
Sage and Gideon get pulled into the whirlwind of solving the mysteries. Think murder, a sudden storm threatening to tear the local pet shop to pieces and the appearance of an oversized kraken in a local lake. Under such circumstances, will their love blossom or fade without having been given a chance?
As always, after finishing yet another book by this author, I pre-ordered the next book in the series. I’m looking forward to reading Norah’s story. The Underworld she is from seems to be a bone-chilling place I wouldn’t want to visit in real life, but reading about it must be an exciting adventure.
I received an ARC copy of this book and a leaving a review voluntarily.
I am in love with this series and I am so ready for more in this setting. I adore that we have a whole town of all kinds of magical creatures because the interactions that creates is amazing. It’s not always a simple fix because all these different cultures have to be considered. A lion shifter child uses his lion form to throw a tantrum in public and that is all kinds of amazing because of course he would!
Sage and Gideon are such fun. I love that there’s development to their relationship which gives it a realistic feel. The politics of their families carries weighty with it which I appreciate because families definitely complicate things!
It’s awesome to see couples from the previous books here to interact! It does a lot to create this completely fleshed out world, with all the intricacies that come with it!
I started out despising Ocean but as the book goes along, we get more information and our view changes. It’s fun that we get to learn along with Sage! It’s great trick to really make us emphasize with our MC.
Sage Summers has a magical affliction that keeps her trapped in Everwood Falls, where cursed beings are sent for the safety of everyone else. The last man she loved left her as soon as his curse lifted. Gideon Fischer, merman and teacher, could finally get her to let down her guard, but if his curse lifts, he'll leave her too. Not to mention that dark magical forces have made their way into town...
Another thoroughly enjoyable entry in the series. I really wish I could be absorbed by these books and directly into Everwood Falls itself. Sage and Gideon's romance is so sweet and gentle and slow and wonderful all at once. There's a bit of drama, but not too much. It's all perfectly balanced. And now I have a new favourite character - Mortimer, the kraken! Love that dude. I could probably do without him getting his own romance novel though... haha.
The Siren's Cursed Kiss is Book 3 in the Everwood Falls Series by Kat Kinney. I LOVE this series and in my opinion, this book is fabulous. Although this is Sage and Gideon romance story, magic is everywhere and dark magic is trying to take over. I could not put the book down because it was so well written and I had to know what was going to happen next. I thought that pace was perfect and the story unfolded like a flower. I can hardly wait to read book 4, Demon Marked. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
The Siren’s Cursed Kiss is the third book in the Everwood Falls series, and it’s a swoon-worthy paranormal romance with THE BEST magical community and found family. The story follows Sage Summers, who has made a home for herself in Everwood Falls after being deemed too dangerous for the mundane world. A witch with incredible but uncontrollable power, she’s learned to live with the curse, but when her ex-fiancé shows up in town, Sage is drawn into a dangerous mystery that affects witches and sirens alike. Luckily, she has the help of her friends and her best friend (and hottie merman), Gideon.
Sage is fantastic! Strong, upbeat, and incredibly powerful, she’s also deeply wounded by the family who doesn’t fully accept her and the ex who left her behind. She’s built walls around her heart, and I completely understood why. Then there’s Gideon, the ultimate cinnamon roll. He faces his own share of struggles, especially with his identity and his past with the merfolk, which adds a lot of depth to his character. Seeing how deeply devoted he is to Sage and watching him support her while also facing his own fears made me love him even more. It was so interesting to learn more about each of their pasts, how they ended up in Everwood Falls, and the struggles that shaped them.
A powerful green witch and a cinnamon roll merman make such a great pair, and I loved Sage and Gideon’s friends-to-lovers romance. They have such a sweet love story, and seeing their friendship turn into something more was wonderful. Of course, Sage’s past and her fears prevent her from acting on her feelings, and the angst is tangible. Luckily for her, Gideon is patient, devoted, and so obviously in love with Sage. He never pushes her, and I just loved that. He’s an amazing and kind-hearted man, and he always respects her boundaries. Best friends, they know each other really well, and they have a super strong bond that is challenged a lot over the course of the story, but their feelings for each other are unwavering. Ahhh, they’re both fantastic, layered characters, and their budding romance had my heart from the start.
Another part of the book (and the whole series) that I love is the found family dynamic. Sage, like most of the town’s residents, can’t leave Everwood Falls, and her relationship with her actual family is complicated, to say the least. They love her, but when they talk, they are so inconsiderate of her feelings. So, it’s lovely to see that Sage has this wonderful group of friends who love, care for, and support her. And can I live in Everwood Falls, please? The idea of never being able to leave wouldn’t be ideal, but the charm, the sense of community, the magic, and all of the people who live there sound fabulous. Plus, I need to see the enchanted pumpkins! lol
The mystery and themes are also great. I was eager to see how Sage and Gideon would navigate the growing danger as attacks against witches escalated and the sirens slowly lost their powers. It was suspenseful, and the story took a few dangerous turns I didn’t see coming.
This book had everything I love—deep friendships, a swoon-worthy romance, and a wonderfully supportive found family. I also thought the themes of belonging, the importance of community, and the power of all different kinds of love were woven well throughout the book. At its heart, this story is about love, belonging, and finding family in unexpected places. I’m already excited for the next book in this fun and charming series and am so thankful to Kat Kinney for sending me a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
I love Kat Kinney's Everwood Falls. Cozy, small-town romance with kooky denizens, cute pets, and unbreakable community spirit... what could go wrong, right? Maybe the fact that said denizens are all supernatural beings that are there either because they have wonky magic or because they're hiding out for some reason. And add in that said pets are witches' familiars, shapeshifters, and the occasional mischievous pumpkin or misunderstood water dweller, and there are plenty of hijinks to go around.
This third book in the series follows witch Sage and merman Gideon, and if a merman hero doesn't make you squee, then begone with you. We've met both protagonists in the two previous books, but Kinney is more practiced than prolific, and the lag time between releases is long. As a result, the details might be fuzzy (unless you're lucky to be new to the author and then can book binge all three). But readers are fully compensated by the lush, unrushed pace of a paranormal romance that focuses more on building relationships than instalove sexcapades. Interpret that as you will.
Sage and Gideon are friends, though Gideon has been clear of his interest in more. But Sage has reasons to hold back. That Gideon doesn't push yet doesn't retreat tells you all you need to know about his worthiness, both for Sage and as a book boyfriend. So, throw the friends-to-lovers trope into the mix, and since I happen to adore F2L, lucky me.
All this nicey-nicey, so why only four stars, you ask? Well, in spite of Kinney taking her time to develop the plot, other parts felt rushed, or perhaps, more accurately, that they were originally fully fleshed out but had to be cut for word count. Specifically—while still avoiding spoilers—spells or curses or magic are broken but not fully spelled out to the point where I wasn't sure if they were broken or not; only further reading proved it true. I also had a little bit of trouble figuring out who was bad and who was just in a bad place, and not because of red herrings; I just didn't fully understand what was happening. As for who was the actual baddie, I figured it out pretty easily, but when it was revealed, there wasn't the sense of "No way!" that should accompany such a revelation.
To be clear, I still enjoyed the book immensely. Sage and Gideon are both perfect protagonists, and it was a joy to finally get their story.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
I received an advance review copy of this book from BookSirens and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was the third book in a series, which I was not aware of when I received it. However, I don't feel that I needed to have read the first two books to understand what was going on in this one, which is a plus.
Things I enjoyed:
Most of the characters - I enjoyed Sage a lot. She was fun, feisty, and didn't really put up with other people being nasty towards her or her friends. She was clearly a loyal friend, and you could tell she made a difference to the town she lived in. Gideon was also a good character. He really cared for Sage and you could tell it from his words and actions. Most of the minor characters were just minor, but I felt a couple of them were kind of one dimensional.
The mystery - There were a lot of moving parts in this story and a lot of things we learned along the way. I did like that ending was surprising, the bad person was not who I thought it was, and things came together at the end very well.
Things I didn't like:
I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but there was one thing I didn't really enjoy towards the end of the book. I don't know if it was because I hadn't read the first two books or just missed something in this book, but there was one big part of the end that really confused me. Perhaps on a second reading or reading the first two books will answer my questions. That's all I'm going to say about that, though. The only other thing I didn't really like was that some of the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more, IMO. I feel like there is a lot more to some of these characters than what we saw.
Overall:
This was an enjoyable cozy style mystery. I liked the odd characters and their pets, the town and the reason the town existed, and all of the friend and family dynamics that are shown in the story. It's a fun story to read. It's not anything that will reinvent the supernatural type stories, but it is something that will keep you entertained.
Witches, warlocks, werewolves, sirens, shifters, merfolk oh my! In The Siren’s Cursed Kiss, these are the kind of citizens that inhabit the town of Everwood Falls, Colorado. Magic cloaks the town of Everwood Falls to be undiscoverable to the outside, mundane world. The townspeople are made up of those whose magic is especially dangerous, can’t be controlled, and who harbor dark magical curses. One citizen in particular, Sage Summers, a cursed green witch whose powers manifested late in life has finally created a happy life of her own here with her marmot Meeker. With strange happenings occurring all over town, and her ex-fiancée Dominic and Gideon’s ex-fiancée Ocean suspiciously showing back up there’s no telling what is really afoot. Will Sage, with a the help of her friends uncover what’s really going on around town or will she drown into the abyss?
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Everwood Falls with its magical qualities and citizens. I thought the characters of the story were unique, quirky, and original. I liked the secondary characters especially Sage’s marmot Meeker and Gwyn, Sage’s pregnant dragon shifter best friend who were fun additions to the overall story. FMC Sage and MMC Gideon had an exceptionally cute and heartwarming relationship that was sweet to watch evolve throughout the duration of the book. I will definitely continue delving into Kat Kinney written worlds and would recommend this story.
The Narration by Tiffany Vanlandingham presented the story in a lifelike manner, bringing me the listener, right alongside characters as went about their everyday lives in Everwood Falls. I thought she did an excellent job of capturing the essence of each character (and there were quite a few) and was thoughtfully expressive in the way she presented each of the characters, settings, etc. There was clarity and distinction that really set the stage in an exciting way for sharing the story as it unfolded. Tiffany continues to be a favorite narrator of mine, and I highly recommend any of the stories she narrates.
THE SIREN'S CURSED KISS is the third book in the Everwood Falls series. You can read it as a standalone although the town (obviously) and some of the characters have been mentioned in previous books.
Sage is the green witch responsible for the carnivorous trees that help keep Everwood Falls safe. Her magic came in with a blast and she was banished to Everwood Falls as basically being too dangerous/powerful. Gideon the merman is her best friend who certainly wouldn't mind their relationship evolving. But when she finds out that Gideon is in Everwood to hide from a curse and can leave whenever he wants, Sage gets worried and starts throwing up even more walls. She can't leave, and she can't see how he will stay.
I do enjoy the town of Everwood Falls with all the different characters, both human-appearing and animal. This one just felt a little flat to me. Maybe it's because the focus was more on the whodunnit and whytheydunnit, but I never really felt the love connection between our two MCs. Their friendship? Absolutely, but just not any further.
Also, while I don't believe everything should be explained and neatly tied up with a bow, there were parts of this book that I thought would have at least a little explanation but got nothing. As I got closer to the end, parts of the story seemed a little choppy, as though parts had been edited out and what was left was just left, instead of trying to smooth the jagged corners, so to speak.
The best character in here was Mortimer! I loved him and I really hope to see more of him in future books. A good read and addition to the series that I recommend. My rating is 3.5 out of 5, rounded up.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Mar 11, 2025
Sage Summers, a green witch with uncommon power, has been living in Everwood Falls, CO. This magical community is a safe place for all manner of magical beings, especially those who are cursed. For the most part, Sage is content there despite the fact that she can never leave. She has a great group of friends and the respect of the town. But ever since her fiancé rejected and left her behind, she’s put walls around her heart. Gideon Fischer, merman and siren, would dearly love to break through her resolve. He knows Sage is his fated mate. But since he’s in Everwood Falls voluntarily, he understands her fears and is willing to give her time. Unfortunately, both of their pasts are on a collision course with the present as someone targeting witches and sirens brings their vendetta to town. Can Sage and Gideon survive the dark magic and find happily ever after?
The Siren’s Cursed Kiss is a perfect blend of mystery and romance. Although my first introduction to this author, I was quickly hooked into the magical world of Everwood Falls. Sage and Gideon were easy to root for as their connection was firmly established. Sage’s trauma over both being trapped in Everwood and Dominic’s betrayal were both very relatable. Both Dominic’s and Ocean’s manipulation of the heroes were dastardly and offered great conflict to the story. I did find myself empathizing with Ocean once the full story unfolded. The world building is spectacular and I enjoyed seeing the interactions of the different paranormal characters. While this story works fine as a standalone, I’ve already downloaded the prior books in this series, as the characters became so real to me. I’ll absolutely be looking for book 4 as well.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sage Summers was sent to Everwood Falls, Colorado, because her magic is pretty much uncontrollable and she can’t be around regular humans so that they can’t find out about the supernatural. She can never leave Everwood Falls. Her marmot familiar, Meeker is hilarious and is going to need to go on a diet soon with all the sweets he eats, especially banana nut muffins. (Now, I want one! lol). She had moved their 6 years previous when her powers manifested late. Gideon is a merman who is a very good friend and he and Sage are practically inseparable and he gets along with Meeker very well. It’s so cute how he and Sage are! They are so good and perfect for each other! Omg. I adore Sage’s t shirts that have cool sayings on them. They made me laugh. Some of her green powers freak me out, like the carnivorous trees. *shudders*. Sage’s last romantic relationship had soured her to men- Dominic left her after they were engaged and I was livid about what happened but that is nothing compared to what happens in the story. OMG> I wanted to punch something so bad and pillows did not help. Things start going wonky in town and Gideon’s past shows up to ‘haunt’ him. Seeing all of the past characters in the series was fun and I can’t wait to see what happens next with Norah & Ember. I love Ember. Finding out about Gid’s past was eye-opening and a bit freaky. The book made me laugh, squee, freak out, chew on my nails, mutter curses, punch my pillow, need the AC on and so on. I love that Gid calls Sage, starfish. That’s so cute! The story has so much to it! It was fascinating learning more about mer/siren life and the witches & warlocks. I can’t wait to learn even more.

Gleeful Goblin Review: "Sage Summers frowned at the troublesome text on her phone. Not for the first time, she wondered if it wouldn’t be better to start a large fire in her cauldron, mutter a few hexes, and be done with men forever." If that isn't one of THE BEST OPENERS to a book I've ever read I don't know what would be. That is The Biggest Of Moods for both myself and for Sage apparently. I've loved all of the Everwood Falls books so far but I'm especially a sucker for sirens/mermaids so when I saw this book I knew I had to pick it up right quick. And it didn't let me down at all because right after that banger of an opening I find out this siren has a MARMOT FAMILIAR NAMED MEEKER. Are you kidding me? I already said I'm in and then you give me Meeker the Marmot? Who loves s'mores? Why am I this marmot? "Meeker, her marmot familiar, chittered from his perch atop his cat tree in the corner. Climbing down, he waddled to her side and looked hopefully up at the fresh muffins. Marmots were overstuffed alpine groundhogs, and hers considered himself a fine connoisseur of all baked goods. “One muffin,” she informed him, carefully transferring the muffins one by one to a cooling rack. “And not until they’ve had a chance to cool off. Last time I brought you in to see Dr. Bryce with a scalded paw because you got into the s’mores by the campfire, I was given ten pages of assigned reading on marmot appropriate hays and vegetables. Marshmallows were nowhere on the list, in case you’re curious.”
This book is just overwhelmingly charming both in and out of the direct romance focus. I had so much fun and I can't wait for the audiobook. 5/5 Stars

The Siren’s Cursed Kiss by Kat Kinney is described as “A Paranormal Cozy Mystery and Witch Merman Romance” and is book 3 in the Everwood Falls series.
This series centres around a cozy mountain town where the paranormal citizens don’t have to hide from the outside world, but as we see from this instalment, it is also a place that the magic high council use to hide their problems - in this case magic wielders that are just too powerful to live in everyday society.
The series can be read as standalones, and this is the first book in this series that I have read.
This story follows Green witch Sage Summers as she falls in love with her friend and local teacher (not to mention half merman / half siren) Gideon Fischer. Along the way they get wrapped up in helping to uncover a plot to suppress Siren magic, battle warlocks and even a kracken!
I adore Sage’s plant magic and her little marmot companion, and the many Gilmore Girls references (team Jess forever!). Her pumpkin patch and feral forest were definitely highlights for me. I did struggle a bit with this book though, I just didn’t feel there was enough time given to the siren/mermaid background and the world building around their abilities or even the descriptions around what they looked like. It felt a little confusing to me, but that may be because I’m coming into this having not read the first two books.
I audiobooked this, and it was narrated by Tiffany Vanlandingham, and the performance was very good. Her voice is fabulous and she is so good at switching between characters - and there were a lot of characters in this book to keep up with!
All in all an enjoyable listen, but I might need to go back and read to the first two!!
The Siren’s Cursed Kiss is the third book in Kat Kinney’s Everwood Falls series. It is a delightful addition to a fun series. This one follows Sage and Gideon as they try to keep the sirens and witches from a war that has been simmering for centuries.
Sage is a green witch with control problems who was banished to Everwood Falls after a magical mishap destroyed a mundane world shopping center. She can never leave. Gideon is the local high school math teacher who is a merman/siren hybrid. They have lots of chemistry, but Sage is determined to keep him in the friend zone. She thinks he will inevitably return to Maine and his family as the lure of the sea will eventually be too much to resist.
Their path to HEA is littered with old flames and family drama. I was totally drawn into Sage’s angst as she tries to deny her attraction to Gideon. There was some real growth for her included, such as overcoming her fear of the water. As for the MMC, Gideon is just a piping hot cinnamon roll!!
I really loved the way the author invests us in the secondary characters, too. There are some not-so-nice players I wanted to meet really nasty ends, and some that saw redemption as well. There were plenty of twists and turns with some heartbreaking reveals. The end battle was nicely done and the aftermath turned out perfectly with some big win-wins for both the characters and the community!! Hurray for the boat tours (small teaser LOL).
I really recommend this book and rate it as my favorite of the series so far! Keep it up Kat!! Love your books!!

The Siren’s Cursed Kiss (Everwood Falls #3) by Kat Kinney delivers a magical blend of romance, mystery, and supernatural chaos set in the enchanting town of Everwood Falls, where humans and supernatural beings coexist.
This installment follows Sage, a green witch nursing a broken heart, and Gideon, a merman torn between two worlds. Their relationship begins as a cozy, slow-burn friendship filled with shared dinners and easy laughter until dark forces from their past come crashing back in. Vicious sirens, a massive kraken, and long-buried secrets threaten the safety of Everwood Falls, forcing Sage and Gideon to confront both the danger around them and the feelings they’ve been carefully avoiding.
The side characters truly shine in this book. Meeker, the marmot lovingly described as an “overstuffed alpine groundhog” with an obsession for muffins was an absolute scene-stealer! Then there was Sage’s sentient pumpkins that added charm, humor, and heart throughout the story.
The audiobook is narrated by Tiffany Vanlandingham, whose performance significantly elevated my experience. Her narration was clear and consistent, with distinct character voices that were easy to follow across chapters.
Tiffany’s voice has a warm quality, with moments of drama that felt perfectly matched to the story’s tone. I especially enjoyed her softer delivery in quieter scenes, which added depth and intimacy.
While the story itself landed closer to a 3-star read for me, the strength of the narration bumped the overall experience up to a solid 4 stars. Tiffany Vanlandingham’s performance brought Everwood Falls to life and made this audiobook an engaging and enjoyable listen.
This engaging third book in the Everwood Falls series tells the story of green witch Sage Summers and Gideon Fischer, merman and high school math teacher. When a mysterious blood feud between sirens and witches spreads to town, Sage and Gideon find themselves caught up in the danger surrounding it as they try to decipher the mystery. Having read the previous books of the series isn't at all a requirement for enjoying this tale, but it does provide a greater understanding of the various people in the town and their relationships.
This is a fun, engrossing cozy tale with its mystery and romance and, just like the previous books, delightful animal characters accompanying the main characters. I loved the description of Sage's marmot familiar... an "overstuffed alpine groundhog" and "a fine connoisseur of all baked goods". Other descriptions are just as delightful, with many touches of humor, like "...homes were constructed solidly enough to keep out wildlife you didn't want to randomly discover at your breakfast table, eating your Cheerios...". The author has a terrific way with words. A couple of my favorites: "...as rude as inquiring as to what sort of fanged, multi-tentacled beast they shifted into when you were standing in line for sliced cheese at the deli counter...", and "...wolfhound side eye from Daisy, who he suspected was also secretly shipping them...".
Overall, this is a wonderful paranormal cozy mystery and romance to curl up with, a story of found family and some tense situations that keep you turning the pages. A truly enjoyable read!
Everwood Falls is giving Halloween town vibes! And I'm so here for it!
I actually really loved this story. it has so many creatures and different magic. the cozy romance is a perfect description for this. not my usual cup of tea but still great. The narration was also good. with so many characters, it's hard to believe that one narrator could bring their own unique personalities to life, but Tiffany did it! This is an interconnected standalone and I read this before the previous books in the series. I will say that it was a little difficult to keep track of all the characters and descriptions at the same time as getting my bearings in the setting. I feel that maybe if I started with book 1 and gradually was introduced to all the characters and town, it may have been a little easier at the beginning. I also felt that some of the descriptions and scenes were a little pointless. I found myself wondering if they added to the plot later on and realized they didn't really. this also made some scenes feel like they were cut and pasted into random parts of the story. I think they were meant to add to the cozy aspect of the story, but it wasn't something I'm used to. Overall, I was able to get past all of that and truly enjoy the story and the narration definitely helped with that. I am interested in continuing the next book in the series when it comes out and also going back to the first two books to get a more detailed look into the other character's stories.
I love Everwood Falls, that it’s full of magic black, grey and white makes it the most fantastic place to live in my book. If your Sage and Gideon, maybe not so much ! Sage can never leave, she’s banished there for life, due to her type of magic ( read the book to find out the type), that means no vacations, no family reunions, just Everwood Falls every single day ! Her slow burn romance with Gideon is perfect for them, it’s believable and basic and beautiful. Ocean is the perfect fall girl in all the problems that arise, she makes herself easy to hate ( again read the book to find out if she’s a red herring or not ). Then we get to see the previous couples in the series and that makes it “old home week”, Kat Kinney gives us enough old to interact with the new to make this series special each book. My only complaint about this book and it’s a small one, is that there are to many twists and turns, to many possible bad guys/girls and it becomes hard to decide who you love to hate and who might just be getting a bad rep due to their magic, or type of magical being they are. Is the siren truly wicked ? Is the shifter really a beast ? Lots of moving parts in this one ! And I can’t wait for the next one ! 5✨’s. As a fan of Kat Kinney’s writing, I dove into the Everwood falls series without knowing one thing about it. I love her writing style. I love her characters. With every book, she never disappoints. Unbeknownst to me, this series takes place in Colorado, in the magical town of Everwood Falls, and when I began reading this series, I happened to be in snowy Colorado. Needless to say, I was immediately hooked as Everwood Falls came to life for me. I’ve long awaited the story of Sage, a green witch with out-of-control magic, and Gideon, a merman with a complicated family, longing to see these two come together despite the obstacles of their pasts and futures. Sage’s magic is delightful and unpredictable. That somehow makes her a deeply likeable heroine, and Gideon is the cinnamon roll alpha male we all dream of. Together, they’re romance is slowly built on a solid foundation of respect and friendship. The lush, magical world of Everwood Falls is filled with magical beings with real-world problems, and yet, a constant coziness encircles their trials and tribulations. It’s fantasy romance meets Gilmore Girl’s, and I’m here for every single page. And don’t get me started on the loveable pets. Kat Kinney is a genius with feel-good fantasy. I pre-ordered this books, always eager for more from this author, and I’m practically jumping up and down to pre-order the next book.
I've been so excited for Gideon and Sage's story since book one! They're dynamic has always seemed so sweet to me. It was great to learn more about Gideon, his family and his reason for coming to Everwood Falls and while we've known somewhat about Sage's past it was nice to get more details.
Which I have to say I know she loves her family, and they love her, but they (her family) could try a little harder to visit her and maybe put a little more thought into how they speak about her curse. The fact that they made, what I consider to be, some insensitive comments to Sage and said comments are never brought up again by either side was a bit disappointing. I feel like there should have been some type of conversation, even if it was a small one, where Sage could express how hurt her family made her feel. Even though there wasn't any scene it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment.
Right now, I think Sage and Gideon are currently my favorite couple and I've decided that I need more stories where there is a merman as the love interest. I also can't wait for the next installment in the Everwood Falls series!

I'm always so happy to find a new supernatural romance series to read! This one is about Everwood Falls, an isolated town people are sent to when they cannot control their powers/are cursed/etc. This book is about Sage and Gideon. Sage is a witch who's powers are so strong that, when they first manifested, a forest literally ate a shopping mall. She's learned a bit of control since then, but, as her magic is still tied to her emotions, she still has accidents from time to time and likely will never be able to leave. She's scared to love another person after her previous fiancé left as soon as his own curse was lifted (and because he's a… well, a bad man, as I can't think of a way to describe him without swearing… A LOT). I loved learned about the world of Everwood Falls, filled with supernatural people of all sorts of different species, from angels to demons to witches, merfolk, shifters, etc. Now I have to go and read the earlier books AND await book 4! I'm so excited!

This is my third book from Kat, and I’m loving every magical moment spent in Everwood Falls. There's something so comforting and immersive about returning to this cozy, supernatural town tucked away in the Colorado Rockies. Each story brings something new while continuing to deepen the world and characters I’ve come to care about.
In Hexes and Hot Springs, Sage and Gideon’s story had me hooked from the beginning. Sage is a powerful, grounded green witch with a tough past and an even tougher exterior—and I adored her. Gideon, the half-siren math teacher, was the perfect match: compassionate, layered, and just the right kind of persistent. Their chemistry is real, the magic system feels rich, and the town (complete with carnivorous trees and enchanted elk!) is delightfully quirky.
Kat does an excellent job blending heart, humor, and mystery, and as always, the HEA is satisfying and well-earned. I'm already looking forward to the next visit to Everwood Falls!
I loved this story about Everwood Falls in the Colorado Rockies. Witches, vampires, and werewolves who cannot control their magic are sent there to keep others safe from them. Once there, they cannot leave.
The story is mainly about Sage Summers, a green witch who developed her powers late and cannot control them. She was engaged to warlock Dominic Storm, but he left her and Everwood Falls when he was declared free from his curse. However, he has now returned and wants Sage back.
Sage falls for merman Gideon Fischer but is reluctant to act on her feelings as she fears he will leave her like Dominic did. Gideon is half merman and siren and there is trouble brewing in the siren world.
Gideon and Sage try to uncover who is behind the problems facing the witches and sirens.
This is an interesting romantic, paranormal, fantasy story and I found it hard to put down.

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this paranormal world and the characters in it. I've now read the 1st and 3rd book in this series and I liked them both very much (skipping #2 wasn't an issue as everything was explained well, enough detail to understand the world and magic involved without being tedious can be a delicate balance but this series got it right!). Kat Kinney had developed a great world of magic and intrigue with mysterious magical issues to be resolved.
I loved Sage, the green witch with limited control over her powers. I got a real kick out of the way her garden and the forests around her responded to her emotions. Pumpkins acting like pets was my favorite! Who doesn't love a merman like Gideon? Maybe I'm biased as a marine scientist but he's got lots of other great traits too such as being a supportive friend.

The Siren’s Cursed Kiss follows the journey of Gideon and Sage. This is the first merman romance story that I have read and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. The story is amazingly written, well balanced and beautifully executed by Kay Kinney. She continues to showcase what a brilliant author she is with each book I’ve read by her. The characters of this book are fabulously written and beautifully executed throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing Sage and Gideon’s story come to life through the pages of this book. The chemistry between these two characters is absolutely off the charts hot and undeniably irresistible. I would most definitely encourage other readers to checkout and give this book a read. I’m looking forward to reading more phenomenal romances from this author in the future.

Brilliant book and an overall fun and addicting series!
I have read both of Kat Kinney's other series and loved them, but Everwood Falls Series might be my favorite!
The descriptions are phenomenal! I'm as in love with the setting as the characters and Sage & Gideon's love story! The magic is fascinating and fun! The mystery is exciting and I particularly enjoyed the twist of what was going on and why! I enjoyed Kat Kinney's spin on the different fantasy creatures & the complex history and politics between each species!
As with her Blood Moon Texas Shifters Series, it's a lot of fun getting to revisit characters we've come to love from the previous books, see how they're doing and where they are now, while also building the excitement of future couples and future books!
I'm really looking forward to the next in the series!
Brilliant book and an overall fun and addicting series!
an excellent clean romance with a very well written story line which includes multiple characters from previous stories which i love, plus an intricate and detailed plot which is cohesive in details, has a nice timeline, and is interesting to read. the characters are well rounded and detailed and very believable. the setting of everwood falls being a town filled with supernaturals is fun to read and is very believable and has a real world town feel.
this story had lots of plot twists and every day modern problems for its characters along with problems only supernaturals would face. There was plenty of emotion, danger, excitement, laughs, fun times, drama, hurt, forgiveness and much more to keep a reader engaged. a very well done book in a lovely series i'm enjoying reading. I received an arc copy from book sirens and this is my honest voluntary review.
I absolutely loved reading this book. It was the first one I've read by this author or in this series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. I adored the characters in the book, especially Sage. She seems like a real person who you would love to be friends with. Gideon is just as well-developed, and I loved the dynamic between them. The town of Everwood Falls is vibrant and exciting, with so many adorable little aspects, like the werewolves monthly catch and release hunts. The story in the book was equally fascinating, and the romance was really well done. We get to learn about the sirens, there's action, and a fairly unexpected twist. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable books I've read lately, and I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series. I highly recommend this book for fans of magical communities with romance and a wonderful mix of characters.
