DNF at 45%

The FMC from book one does not match who we are getting in this book. She was portrayed as such a pillar of strength for her sister but in this book she was so tame, shy and uncertain. Also the poly dynamic here was very strange and not fleshed out enough for me. The men had been friends for years but never had sex but all of a sudden having a girl enter the mix strengthens them together? Mmmm idk. Things moved way too fast and I was not vibing.

A new to me author who now has my attention. I will be reading more from her in the future.

I fell for all three of these characters so quickly. Willa, Damien, and Xander were so endearing. They all seemed to be genuinely good people and I wanted them to have the best. This story definitely had some more weight than I was expecting. I appreciated the time and discussion that went into them trying out Polyamory. It made it feel very real. It made it feel like more than your average Hockey Romance.

I loved how they supported each other, spent time with each relationship. They asked questions and became involved in all parts of each others lives. It was never casual and they weren't just playing around. I thought it was balanced really well.

My one hang up was as follows:

I was loving this SO much.. but we really missed out on an important step. Such a wasted opportunity.. Not just for a steamy MMF but for the full connection and acceptance it would have conveyed. I don't want to go into exact spoilers, but I think there was a certain intimate scene that was left off the page. It was even set up by a conversation that Damien and Xander have between the two of them. They finally become fully vulnerable and open with each other and then... we don't have them DO that emotional thing with Willa there. It just feels incomplete the way it was left. We needed one more scene to flesh it all out. It felt like it was promised but then we ended and skipped 10 years in the epilogue. Just my opinion.

It felt like it was all set up and it would have showed the union of all three of them. I didn't like being left out of it.

At the end of the day, that's the author's choice, but that's what kept this one from pushing me over the top to a 5 star, but I WILL read this author again.

Ok. So I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first one, but it's only because of my preferences. I'm not a MMF kinda girl. I always prefer it to be between two people. Whether MM or MF. Everytime I read a MMF book I'm left wanting and thinking why the author just didn't make it MM? Here's the thing... And I know this author did her best because it was a more decent MMF book I've read. BUT the relationship, the intellectualism, the wanting, the inner thoughts were so much stronger between the two male characters. I felt Willa's role was a buffer between them and more of a physical connection only. Even though the author tried to state many times in the book with the characters dialogue that Willa wasn't this. I wasn't feeling it. I was also disappointed they told each other I love you's in separate pairings, and not all together as one unit. It's polyamory and it's difficult. I don't care what anyone says. There will always be one person left out wanting. I don't think it's equal partnership. My opinion only. Each to their own of course. And everytime Zander and Damien were together Willa was left watching Zander's little sister. Yet here we have a character majoring in feminist studies shouting about equal rights this and that and she's kinda left behind. Zander and Damien definitely took the lead in this book as they were more developed as characters. Willa's character definitely took a backseat. Which is sad because I liked her in the first book. I did actually end up liking Damien a lot more than Zander and Willa's character. He's my kind of character. A little dark. A little wounded. Zander and Willa ended up being disappointing unfortunately. I honestly think they should have had separate books, but like I said that's just my preference. I know loads of people who loved this book. It just didn't do much for me.

Last and major spoiler. Damien and Zander never have intercourse in this book. Damien hinted he wanted to when they were alone in a hotel, but Zander said he wouldn't feel right because Willa wasn't there. 1 point Zander and 0 points for Damien 😂. If they ended up doing the deed without Willa there I would have been majorly disappointed

Our relationship is not defined in any substantial way, but I aim to hold on to it.

This one had everything - incredible chemistry, well-rounded, mature characters, a great set up - except it fell a bit flat for me because there was no conflict between the MC's. 🤔

Damian, Zander, and Willa were so calm, cool, and collected about their scorchingly-hot 3-way relationship that I was left a bit cold. I need angst! I need vulnerability! I need jealousy! (or at least some pettiness😂) These three were WAY too mature for me.

HOWEVER if mature characters are your thing and you love MMF, this is your book!!

Zander and Damian are in a relationship, though it's sort of a secret. Zander is a professional hockey player and Willa is the coach's daughter.
Zander and Damian add Willa to their relationship turning it into a trio.

There are a lot they have to overcome for their relationship. It's unconventional and plenty of others outside of them have opinions on it. Not only do they have to work out how to make it work, but they also have their own personal things going on.
This is a beautiful story, the relationship growth is beautiful, and I really like all of the characters.

I'm being vague but I don't want to give away spoilers. The story is very much centered around the characters and their relationship. It's a quick read, full of heart and emotion. If you enjoy MMF, hockey romance, and character driven romance then this is definitely one to check out.

Normally I devour Alison Rhymes' books but sadly I DNF'd this as 51%. The writing and pacing was so choppy, it didn't seem like it was written by the same person. There was no build up or connections to the relationships, the angst and character development I'm used to from her other stories was missing in this one. Everything just happened so easily, there was not enough substance for me to want to continue. Sadly missed the mark, this could've been so good

This series was the best surprise! I've heard such amazing things, but honestly knew nothing about it! I didn’t even know it was a hockey romance! And I definitely didn’t know this one was MMF. I absolutely devoured this book!

I was so excited for Willa's book! She completely stole my heart in Rainfall! I just loved how protective she was of Isla, and her witty personality was so much fun! It came out even more in this book. I just loved her and her huge heart! So if anyone deserved two men to spoil her, it was 100% Willa. Watching her get her HEA with these two men was so much fun!

Zander also stole my heart in the first book! Knowing Willa's feelings for him had me so curious how Alison was going to bring their HEA to life, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Zander was a constant in the first book. Protective and sweet! I knew I was going to love getting his story. And bringing Damian into their story? Ahhh! I just loved it all! The balance of their relationship was so well done, especially with Zander feeling like he couldn’t give enough to both of them with his hockey career, and Damian and Willa sharing a love for their line of work and studies. It was so sweet! I loved the history each of them shared with Zander.

I am so excited for the next book and will be diving into it immediately!!

Narrated by Stella Hunter, Tim Paige, and Robert Hatchet

These three sounded incredible together! The balance of their voices fit these characters so well, not to mention how good they all sounded together.

I am having a Stella Hunter month! This is the fourth book of hers I’ve listened to, and I’m absolutely loving it. Each character she’s brought to life has been so perfect! When I saw her name on the narrator list for this book, I was so excited because I knew she’d be perfect for Willa, and she was. Her narration brought out Willa's heart and fiery side so much! It was perfect!

Robert was perfect for Damian. Damian was demanding and playful all at the same time, and that came out so well in Robert's performance.

Tim’s performance as Zander stole my heart! He did such an incredible job bringing out everything Zander was battling and showing just how much he loved the people in his life.

I couldn’t get enough of this audiobook! I’m honestly sad it’s over, but so excited to start the next one!

Flurry is book 2 in the Seattle Blades series by Alison Rhymes. The book tells the story of Willa, Zander and Damien. Willa has had it bad for her older sister’s best friend Zander for years, but she has always thought he was gay, especially when his ‘boyfriend’ comes to one of his hockey matches to watch him play. Willa hits it off instantly with Damien but is confused about her feelings for both him and Zander. Throw together three characters that have some wild emotions for each other, and you’ve got a complex story, with so much love, fun times and some hockey thrown into the mix.

I love that we get to see what all the characters in this book are feeling and going through, their relationship isn’t easy, neither is what they bring into the relationship (but that’s how they work). I loved Willa from the moment I read about her, she is refreshingly honest and witty and just seems to be the missing piece for the two men. Zander and Damien’s relationship is complicated even before Willa enters the picture (and I definitely will have to read previous books by this author to know more about Damien!). But this book just works, it deals with difficult topics in a beautiful way and kind of grabs hold of you and doesn’t let you go. Throw in some amazing characters and you just have a really good read! I for one can’t wait to read more from this author!

The best thing about this book is how supportive the parents are. Everything else is a mess, the subplots, the character development (though I suspect Zander is from another series that I didn't read, but authors assumed we all had.)
I finished it, it took days, but I did. So there you go.

DNF at 41%. I wanted to love this book as much as the first but it fell flat for me. There is no substance to back a plot. It follows the coaches daughter who has a crush on a thick necked rookie hockey player who she thinks is gay but turns out he is bi. The MMC has been messing around with a guy who was his Pen Pal and admitted to him he has a crush on the FMC but has never done anything about it. Now the Pen Pal MMC promises to look out for the FMC as they go to the same college. Then they start getting along and start messing around. Im bored and I don’t feel anything for the characters. I need a plot but this seems more character driven.

Was interested to pick this up for the MMF dynamic, and whilst I enjoyed it there were some things lacking. The MM relationship didn't feel developed, they were supposed to have been having an undefined relationship for a few years but really they just came across as close friends until the FMC came into the mix. There just wasn't much in terms of emotions and depth to the relationships. Whilst I appreciated the author taking the time to detail the dynamics between the three of them, and the emphasis on communication there wasn't a lot to the relationships themselves. It didn't feel like there was a lot of romance between the characters, you get a few moments but it is usually an intimate moment otherwise a lot of the book is on the characters POV going about their day or the plot itself.
There is a lot of hockey talk, which I ended up skimming as I am not a hockey follower so most of it didn't really make sense. I think I would have preferred less of that and more focus on building up the chemistry and relationships between the MCs.
The FMC was okay, but I felt more interested in one of the side characters and the MMCs. There just wasn't that much too her, other than her interest in her studies but even that didn't feel much of a passion from. I think because my previous read felt so emotional, that reading this just sort of fell flat.
There also felt like there was a fair amount of repeated information e.g. we already know Willa lived with her sister previously but it is repeated again at 50%. There are a few instances like this, and it just makes things drag on a bit.

This is book two in the Seattle Blades series, but can be read as a standalone. I personally had not read the first book and I had no issues reading.

I went into this book blind only knowing that it featured a MMF relationship dynamic and that one of the MMCs played hockey. (It doesn’t take much to convince me to read a book😉)
Overall I found it an enjoyable read. The pace was quick and there are definitely some instalust/love vibes and the relationship developed very fast, but I appreciated the amount of thought and communication that Willa, Damian and Zander put towards the relationship. There is some family drama that could be potentially triggering to some so please check the trigger warnings.

This is the second book in the Seattle Blades series, and I also recommend the first book.

Flurry is the story about Willa, Alexander, and Damian. It has an interesting dynamic, and the parts are much better as a whole. Willa has had a crush on Alexander/Zander for some time; he is her sister's best friend. But being a professional athlete, he leads a secret private life.

While I love Willa, she is strong and sassy; she is also the glue that makes Zander and Damien better. Both come with plenty of baggage and need to work through it for them to be a family.

I loved this book so much. At first I thought it was going to be just another cutesy hockey romcom but it turned out to have a rather deep message about sexuality and its place in men’s sports as well as family and how many ways a family can look. This found family was so so so beautiful. I loved seeing the dynamic between Willa and Damien and Zander and seeing their relationship grow. And the spice! The spice be spicing. Willa has a dirty mouth on her and her men give her everything she wants.

Stella, Robert, and Tim did absolutely amazing on this narration. I’m so glad that they cast two very different voices for the two male characters and both voices matched their respective characters perfectly.

Xander, Damian, and Willa's MMF story was such a great read! We met Xander and Willa in book 1 and I was so excited to see that they were getting a story, and add Damian in there and they are perfect!

Xander is a professional hockey player, who has always had to hide who he was because of the fear of scrutiny. But he and Damian have had a secret friendship of sorts that is now blossoming into more.

Willa and Xander have both been in love with one another for years, and now their friendship is also turning into more.

I really loved these three. Their relationship felt genuine and I never felt like any one of them was "left out" or the "third" to the relationship.

His sexuality isn't something he discusses with most people, nor can he in the career he's chosen. So what can he do with the feelings he has for both his fwb, Damian, and his best friend's sister and coach's daughter, Willa? He has to keep everything in the shadows, but perhaps not everything will stay there.



Damian lives a life of luxury and wealth. But he doesn't have the love Willa and Zander have with her family. He never realized he was even looking for it until he finally finds it with both of them, and his new, found family. He finds his place, finally, unexpectedly.



I really like this MMF story. Individually, Zander, Willa and Damian are interesting, likable, and layered, with complementary personalities. As a trio, they're even more likable. The way they worked through their feelings for each other, and decided to come forward with their relationship is probably my favorite part - it highlights the struggles people with unconventional relationships go through, and shows how much each grows by the end. The only slight criticism I have of this otherwise great story is that the heat was lower than I figured it would be, and there wasn't a definite scene with the 3 of them. I wanted more of them all together for it to feel balanced and complete as a threesome. Aside from this one thing, though, the story is pretty great. I can't wait for more of these hockey players falling in love now.

Flurry by Alison Rhymes is book two in her Seattle Blades series.This is a MMF hockey romance story between Alexander ‘Zander’ Fane, Damian March and Willa Cole. I really liked Zander and Willa in Rainfall #1 - Isla and Cillian’s story, so was a looking forward to this. Overall I enjoyed this unconventional love story as it really focused on the main three characters and what they had to go through for their relationship.

Hockey is Zander’s life so he has worked hard in the minors and finally got a chance with the Seattle Blades. He is a kind guy who had a hard childhood due to his family and his sexuality. He is bisexual but has kept it quiet as frowned on in the NHL. He has always loved Willa but knows she is off limits. Not only is she his best friend Isla’s sister but she is his coach’s daughter. He met Damian three years ago and they have an interesting friendship.

Damian is quiet and mysterious, with his quiet demeanour and sly smiles. He is very rich and intelligent but has issues due to his childhood. He has problems with intimacy so enjoys being a voyeur. He is at the same university as Willa so has been keeping an eye on her for Zander.
Willa is also very intelligent and is working on a PhD in Feminist studies. She has a strong, fun personality and and loves hockey. She has had a crush on Zander for years and recently found out he was gay but still daydreams about him and his thick big neck!! She meets Damian at Zander’s first professional game and is intrigued by him. She is concerned about coming between them but the guys want to try and make it work. Neither have any experience with relationships but Damian is positive she is meant to be with them and wants to care and protect both of them.

They get on extremely well and he tells her they are both bisexual. The guys have kept their relationship secret for many reasons but both feel comfortable with her. The guys have a interesting dynamic as they both have issues but I felt they complement each other really well. When they add Willa into their relationship, she quickly becomes glue between them. It helps when Zander rents a condo in her building so they are close to each other. Zander struggles because he feels he doesn't deserve either of them and Damian feels it won’t last as he never expected her to come into their lives. Neither have grown up in a loving family so her offering them the family they’ve never had is something neither thought they could ever have. Willa is sure she can handle their unconventional relationship as long as they honest with each other and no one feels left out.

Zander has to deal with problems on and off the ice when his personal life is questioned. There is some family drama as he has never come out to his family, plus his career could be on the line. Will the accusations and drama break them or can the three of them work? What will happen when someone finds out about their complicate relationship? Who is obsessed with who? Can they make it work without anyone getting hurt?

The author covers some interesting topics due to Willa and Damian’s PhD subjects. I thought Willa went about the relationship in the right way, asking questions, communicating with both guys and making sure everyone got what they wanted out of the relationship. There are some good steamy scenes and plenty of passion between the trio. A moving and interesting read.

Flurry is book two in Seattle Blades series by author Alison Rhymes.
In this MMF, Hockey Romance we follow the story of Willa Cole younger sister of Isla Cole from Rainfall as well as Alexander ’Zander’ Fane who is best friends with Isla, both of who were first introduced in Rainfall book one from the series. And Damian March through the telling of multiple POVs.

When it came to the narrative, there was a lot to tell and explore, especially considering there were three different characters consisting of Willa, Zander and Damian who had not only their own stories to tell. But also the development within their relationship together to navigate through.

Author Alison did a good job IMO with showcasing the dynamics shared within the throuple that was Willa, Zander and Damian.
Not only did they share great chemistry together, which shined through in the blossoming of their relations.
But even in the time of them as duos you could see how it differentiated for them, considering with Zander and Damian we learnt there was past history there having known each other longer, in comparison to Willa and Zander as well as Willa with Damian.
Something Alison presented with making it clear throughout the development as their relationship flourished from early stages of friendship to lovers. At least in the case of Willa with Zander and Damian.

One aspect that shined through within the MMF element was the time and effort author Alison put into the storytelling of it.
The depth is what allowed you to get a real feel and understanding of Willa with Zander and Damian's relationship, whilst learning the ins and outs for each of them, since it was new territory for all three of them.
Yet within the navigation you got to see their emotional connection and bond, slowly yet surely come alive, paving way for some steamy moments filled with lots of feelings.

Whilst it was a good read, unfortunately there was some shortcomings that led to the book missing marks at certain times and moments.
One of my critique came from there not being enough of a spotlight on Zander and Damien in their MM relationship. Despite the mention of them sharing a connection beforehand, it would’ve been nice to see more exploration with delving further into it since there wasn’t as much as the story had me expecting.

There was a shortcoming that came from the lack of excitement, considering there was hardly any angst or drama.
In all honesty it would’ve been nice to have some more just to bring some oomph into the story, seeing as the storyline treaded mostly a consistent flow with very little rough waves.

My other criticism came from the ending, the way it just cut off was too abrupt for my liking. Mostly because it felt there was that could’ve been said and done. And also because it didn’t feel like the end IMO.

All in all, author Alison Rhymes did a good job with Flurry, considering Willa with Zander and Damian's story still made for a pleasantly good read. Even despite my issues that were stated.

Flurry is a beautiful love story between three persons. It is a little unconventional but completely romantic. I didn’t know what to expect about this story, maybe some kink, but what I got was a lovely story of three individuals who felt complete for the first time when they got together.

Willa is Isla’s little sister (Rainfall) all grown up. She’s been in love with Alexander, Isla’s best friend, for years, but she thought he was gay. Zander is not gay but bisexual and he’s been loving Willa for some time but didn’t dare approach. And last comes Damian, a guy with whom Zander has been developing a relation for some years. Zander is very closed-off, very private, mostly in defense of his job. The hockey world is not inclusive for non-straight men and he was just promoted to the majors. Damian is aloof, a product of his upbringing and of feeling he’s not enough to hold someone’s love since he never felt loved by his parents.

In spite of their restraints, when the three share time for the first time, something beautiful and deep forms between all three, and it makes total sense that Willa belongs with them and to them. She develops a deep bond with Damian, as she and Zander explore the feelings they have had for so long. The love scenes, both in couples as in the three of them together, were passionate, very sexy, but also very loving. There was love, communication, consideration, and lots of pleasure for all. What I liked the most was the insistence on honesty and communication, all in an effort so no one feels ignored or pushed aside in favor of other. Such is the beauty of this trio, who preferred to call themselves a tryptic.

I loved this beautiful and sweet story, as the author gives us an unconventional love story, and opens our mind to the concept that love is love, no matter the form it takes. I loved the open mind set of all their friends and family, and how they had support as they faced public scrutiny.

It was beautiful, as I’ve said before but it bears repeating many times, because this story enchanted me. I loved Damien, Willa, and Alexander; loved seeing Isla and Cillian living their rescued love with their daughter, loved how the story progressed, always in a positive note. Wonderful reading!

There's a feeling I get when I look at her, as if I have met her before and I should have been spending my life finding her again. -D.

Warmed my heart in a way I will always remember. This is definitely not an average romance between two men and a woman, like so many before.
I never thought it would be possible to shake my love for Noah and Lorelei, but Damian, Willa and Zander did it.
This romance has so many different themes it touches.
Zander has to hide his life or parts of it because he is a pro athlete and in this world you have to fulfill certain expectations.
Damian is searching for stability in his life. Someone to belong to, feel loved and comfortable with.
But he feels undeserving of those feelings and wants.
Willa is a very sensitive, caring and open minded girl. She isn't ashamed of what she feels or with whom. She only is afraid of getting hurt or leaving someone out.
The story is about finding your way of life, loving and living the way you want to, no matter what others may think. And being happy. Zander is the character with the most obstacles in his way and life. And with help, understanding and love, he was able to lose those fears and just live and be happy.
These three had to make their way of love and life possible. Finding their place in their relationship and give and take equally and in the form the others need.
They got accepted, and family and place where they all belong to. By the team, the Cole´s and their friends.
For me, Damian was my absolute favorite character here. He is charming, giving and comforting but his fears and his anxiety of touches and feeling had me hurting with and for him.
Willa is the person who has him slowly opening up and taking away his fears. She understood him in a way, without words, like no one else.
And they both let Zander slowly come to terms with it all by himself and brought themselves in when he needed them, most without him having to ask.
A beautiful story, and one I will definitely re-read soon.

After hearing all the buzz about Rainfall, I was excited when the opportunity to listen to Flurry came my way. I dove into the story and enjoyed every minute of listening. Boy meets Boy then meets Girl and it all comes together in a sweet love story that defies tradition and convention. This was also an amazing audiobook with strong narration by Stella Hunter, Tim Paige, and Robert Hatchet. Each is amazing in their own right, but together they made this book that much better in audio with their distinct and contrasting voices well cast for their respective characters. Simply put, this audiobook was a treat.

Willa has had a crush on her sister’s best friend for years, but never thought she had a chance with him after learning he likes men. Zander has always crushed on Willa, but never acted on it and has had a long distance relationship with Damian for years. Damian has been intrigued by Willa for years after Zander spoke of her often. One game, Willa and Damian meet, and everything changes when they each realize that two is better than one.

This MMF, hockey romance shows the beauty of love when one follows their heart. I appreciated that Alison didn’t shy away from portraying with care homophobia in sports, domestic abuse, or narrow minded religious doctrine. She also showed how accepting people can be. I adored Willa, Zander, and Damian; and I think I loved them even more because of how different they all were from the other. There were so many cute moments when they were all first figuring things out and sweet moments when things started to come together. While this isn’t the steamiest romance I’ve read, it has so much heart and there were a few surprises in store for readers as the story progressed. Though I learned a few things about the love story in Rainfall, this does a good job of being a standalone read and I still want to go back and listen to it.

Since I read the magnificent Rainfall a few months ago, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Alison Rhymes' Flurry.

Now, my MM loving heart can struggle a little with MMF... that pesky F always seems to take over and get in the way... but not so here. Willa doesn't make the entire relationship about her. She's equally supportive of Zander and Damian's relationship and love for each other. She's the one promoting honesty and communication between them all, and she loves these two men equally.

I loved how each partner had an equal say in the relationship, how they each offered something to each other that they could connect on.

Emotionally, the connection was perfect. Physically, I would have loved a little more MM focus... but as I'm primarily an MM reader, that might just be me 🤣 Don't get me wrong, there was lots of Zander and Damian... I just wanted a certain scene that was teased...

Even so, I still absolutely loved Flurry, and it lived up to my high anticipation for it.

The second I'd met Willa and Zander in Rainfall and heard how he was talking online with Damian, I couldn't wait for their story...

Willa was already clearly in love with Zander, but she thought he was gay. Not so. Meanwhile, it seems Zander had long had feelings for his best friend’s little sister. However, he didn't believe she'd accept an alternative lifestyle where Zander was also dating a man.

How wrong he was... and these three work perfectly together.

It's not all smooth sailing in their lives as Zander's alcoholic father causes problems, and the hockey star has to fight for his little sister. I loved how supportive Damian and Willa were here and how good they were with Cassie.

Meanwhile, it was great to catch up with Isla, Cillian, and Sadie, who's too cute for words! She had me laughing quite a lot. My favourite Sadie comment was here:

“Your dad is no dummy.”
“Nope, and he still has his teeth,” Sadie says, as if her father’s dental situation is somehow a credit to his wisdom.

I'm so excited for more from this fantastic series. Alison Rhymes is one of my favourite authors, and I'm excited for what's still to come.

Flurry is a fantastic read. It's emotionally gripping, sexy, with three great leads in our love interests. I highly recommend it.

And if Alison wants to offer us a Zander x Damian bonus scene, I'd be one ecstatic reader 😉

It's nothing new that MMF is one of my favorite dynamics, so I obviously had to read this one.

My girl Willa had it maaaade lmao. The way both Zander and Damian doted on her was something out of a dream. I do love that Willa made sure to also spoil Zander and Damian in her own way and be as inclusive as possible so no one ever felt left out. It was really sweet to see the way they worked on developing separate relationships with each other, but also as a whole.

I appreciated the way the 3 of them communicated and how they made it a point to be honest and transparent from the get-go. I think with a dynamic like theirs, that's key. However, it all felt too easy. I wanted more resistance and build up to the 3 of them getting together. It fell into place too perfectly and it was just immediately assumed by the 3 of them that they'd be in a relationship together (and was also assumed by the people closest to them??). While I loved the progressive take it took and how inclusive it was of a non-traditional relationship, it wasn't realistic to me and I wanted some angst on their way to being together lol.

THAT BEING SAID... it was kind of beautiful to just suspend disbelief and witness them be together against all odds. I was really glad that the conflict was due to outside forces and loved how they worked together to solve the problems that arose.

The spice, my god. So good. Damian's voyeuristic preferences definitely added a lot to the sexual tension. I like that the author included some context as to why he prefers to watch and how he doesn't always like to touch/be touched because in turn we got to see Willa and Zander respecting his boundaries and always asking for his consent to touch/be touched. I know that's the bare minimum, but it still was touching to read about (no pun intended lmao).

Anyway, this author's writing is really addicting and can't wait for the next one!!

In Flurry, book two in the Seattle Blades series, Alison Rhymes brought her readers to a place of acceptance where often there is resistance to relationships out of the social norm. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and in this case it came in threes.

Flurry was a story that was as insightful as it was compassionate. When upcoming hockey star Zander stepped out of the confines of his fame and reached for a chance at love with not one but two people, Willa and Damien, all three fought for their love showing not only their devotion to each other but the agony of their commitment. The struggles of this threesome were not in acknowledging their love but in how to express it so that it was not tainted with hate and abuse. The rightful hesitancy and concern of the acceptance of this relationship was played out well by this author. Ms. Rhymes navigated and expressed the equality in this trio adeptly, putting all three of her lovers on equal footing with no one less deserving or prominent than anyone else and showing their unique contributions to their relationship. The interactions of this trio with friends and family were touching to see and at times as joyful as painful.

Alison Rhymes gives complex portrayals and the gray areas they often fall into a fighting chance with her readers. Flawless is not an adjective that thrives in her stories as each of her characters has their share of faults and issues to balance out their strengths. Ms. Rhymes' dedication to her portrayals shows in every word she writes for meaningful works. Flurry was a beautiful story of love finding a way to conquer fears and reaching for the stars!

Zander and Damian have been dancing around an official relationship for years. They met just as Damian moved to Seattle, and Zander moved away. Now that Zander's moved back to Seattle (and back up to the NHL), it's not a question of if but when.

Except, they both feel like something is missing and neither can figure it out - until Damian goes to a game and gets sat with the WAGs, and meets Willa.

Willa's been crushing on Zander, and is insanely attracted to Damian when they meet. But she can tell that something is between the two men, and she doesn't want to get in the way. She resigns herself to be content as their friend, but Zander and Damian have a different idea. All three of them, together. Dating each other.

But then rumors of Zander's sexuality hit the internet, and his past comes calling. While the three of them just feel right, they have to figure out how to handle the issues coming straight towards them.

This is a story about finding yourself, your family, and being your most authentic self. It's about falling in love, supporting your family, and facing the injustices of life together. Each problem is solved by all three of them together, all three of them contributing, and showing how they help each other be the best versions of themselves.

Genuinely, this story is so beautifully written. Each character is unique and developed amazingly. Willa and Zander are in the first book of the series, so getting into their heads is wonderful. Damian is such a fantastic character and a good compliment to the ones we already had. I absolutely adore the dynamic that they have!
