I don't know how the title came up to the Author but this one, although short, was a cute read.

Meh, really not a fan of the MMC.
Spoilers below:
First he just wants a one night stand to "get her out of his system." Then he is a total jerkwad when she tells him she's pregnant. He won't believe her even when she repeatedly says there was no one else. I get he didn't think it was possible but it never entered his head that she wasn't lying. 🙄 Plus there wasn't enough grovel. 👎🏻

The start of the Wolves of Oakwood series once you start you want to put it down until the last page has been turned. Thorne sexy as all get out alpha of his pack he has wanted to find his mate but it hasn’t happened yet knowing that if he doesn’t find his mate by age 30 he won’t come back he will remain in wolf form it ways on his mind more than it should and one evening when one of his pack members gets into a little trouble he has to pick him up meeting the women who runs the vet clinic grabs his undivided attention in the best and worst way see humans can’t provide him an heir since they can’t carry a wolf’s child or so he has been told. Iris is a sweet vet runs the rehab center as well she sees the good in people believes in second chances so when one of the rehab charges gets picked up there is an instant attraction between them and when he asks her out the more time, she spends with him the closer they grow. That time together leads to nights together but when she ends up pregnant of course he accuses her of being with another man, but doesn’t he put both feet in his mouth sending her running so to speak. When his brother and pack realize how badly he messed up in breaking up with her they step in trying to fix it but it is the feeling that she is in danger that has him running to her protect but will she believe him, will he communicate with her about the truth of his actions, will his pack make things worse, will she give him another chance considering the truth, and can they find their own happiness somewhere in the mess he made?

New Series!
This looks like it’s going to be a great series. Thorne is the alpha of his pack and his brother is his beta. He knows if he doesn’t find a mate by the time he is 30, he will go feral and stay in his wolf form forever. He has no interest in the females of his pack, and his brother is starting to get worried. When one of the teenagers of his pack gets drunk and picked up by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Thorne has to go and rescue him from the Rehab facility. When he meets the woman who runs the place, he is speechless. He has never seen such a beautiful woman before. He can’t seem to help himself and eventually they start going out. But humans can’t get pregnant by their wolf’s, so she can’t be a candidate for his mate.
Iris is a vet and runs the rehab center. She doesn’t understand why she is so attracted to Thorne. And she really can’t understand why he asks her out. But she can’t seem to help falling for him a little more each time they see each other. But when she discovers she is pregnant and tells Thorne, he accuses her of being with another man. She is shocked! Ohh, trouble in paradise!
These two are great together, but they will have an up-hill battle, between his brother and the pack trying to “help”, before they get things figured out. Great book, well written. Can’t wait for the next one!.

Thorne needs to find a mate soon or he loses his ability to shift and by default his place as Alpha. The only woman he has shown any desire for is human and pack laws prohibit mating a human.
Unfortunately none of the available women stir any desire. He's beginning to wonder how much he'd really miss shifting versus mating with someone he can't love. When he needs to go to the wildlife rescue center to rescue one of his pack he meets Iris, a human. He's instantly attracted to her and feels a desire to be near her. It's not long before members of pack are insisting he give up Iris and find a shifter mate. Time's running out before he looses his ability to shift and forfeits being Alpha for the pack. When he's too slow to give up Iris, some of his wolves take matters into their own paws.
I was drawn into the story from the beginning by the captivating characters and a plot that left me wanting more.
I enjoyed the book and although it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I loved it and would recommend the story. I've already started the second installment Fated Enemy.

This was a really cute story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and couldn’t put down until the very last page. I loved the right style and how the story flowed. The characters were lovable and their interaction between each other was believable. Iris is a human so we believe it’s not until she meets Thorne who is a wolf shifter, not only that he is the Alpha. The Alpha, along with every other wolf must be mated by their 30th birthday. Otherwise they will lose the ability to shift, so the push is on for him to find his mate. Thorne decide that he will date Iris to get her out of his system and then discovers that she is pregnant, it’s impossible for a shifter to get a human pregnant, and so he breaks up with her. When his pack discovered that he is dating a human, they try to intervene, and it’s only after that, Thorne runs to her rescue when he feels that she is in danger, and then declares that she is his mate, then something happens that shows that they are Fated mates. They go to ask the faerie how this is possible and then learn that Iris is a latent shifter. They go onto have a happily ever after.

Where is my brain? I read so many books because I truly love reading and our authors deserve a review. I apologize because I'm trying to keep up. I read this a while ago and looked for my review, dumbfounded. Nothing here. Let's fix that! This was written well, it drew my attention and it keeps me entertained. I love the shifter world and I am partial to wolves. The pairing here has a lot of chemistry and though our leader is a bonehead, I really do like him.
He couldn't believe what she said after they'd been together. And that was the whole problem.
I do wish we got more general world building because I love the world and the antics he went through to get his pack mates back. He should have let the young one stay stuck longer! Lol. His mating with her is sweet but when his foot went into his mouth..yikes. It's not a harsh read so don't stress on that. For me I would have had him work for it though. This is a pleasant read and something calming and interesting. Sometimes you need low drama and just a good read. A fun story and a world I enjoyed.

This was a cute and steamy shifter romance. I loved the forbidden love aspect between Thorne and Iris and the inevitability of their mate-bond. Despite the fact that as alpha Thorne needs to find a shifter mate, he cannot deny his intense attraction to Iris. He hopes the desperate longing will fade in time, but a fated mate-bond will not be denied. I was annoyed after a while by Thorne's repeated insistence of Iris's infidelity, but she made him grovel appropriately. I'm looking forward to grumpy Ev's book next🖤

Its while he is doing this that he meets Iris, and things heat up between them very quickly. He needs a mate, and it can't be a human. When he goes to see Iris again, she informs him that she is pregnant, and he denies its his. He talks to his friend about things and they end up having a fae see him and Iris. Will he see that he is wrong about Iris before its too late? Will she give him another chance?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Big Bad Mate was an okay, one-time read type of story for me. This story is short, but I'll try not to spoil anything. Thorne (alpha) and Iris (human) are okay characters but there was no real depth to either of them. Thorne needs to find a mate before he loses his ability to shift and his interest in Iris, a human, doesn't sit well with some of his pack as he cannot mate to a human. This leads to a light, fast-paced story that has steamy scenes, accusations, a little drama, a few surprises and a HEA. This book would be perfect for readers looking for a light read with no real depth to the characters or story.

This was a fast paced shifter novella. The author did a great job with world building. I did enjoy the aspect that if a shifter did not find a mate by the age of 30 they lost the ability of shift. That played a unique twist in the story.
There was a spicy scene and it did further the plot. Our FMC, Iris, is a very strong and a bit sassy main character, which was lovely to see. Our MMC, Thorne, is the Alpha of the pack and has the alpha tendencies including the alpha-hole issues that come along with it.
Overall, this is a nice, short novella to read when you need something quick and easy to follow.

"I recently had the pleasure of reading a book that was not only quick and easy to read, but also had an over-the-top romance that left me feeling satisfied. The storyline was one of those that you crave when you want a book that doesn't require much thought or effort, yet this book managed to surprise me with its unique and intriguing scenario surrounding fated mates and the shifting process. As someone who has read countless paranormal books, it was refreshing to come across a story that was completely new to me. Although I typically prefer stories with a bit more complexity and depth, this book still managed to provide me with a couple of hours of pure enjoyment.".

I’m continuing my reading with recent SYKD downloads! This is a shorter story told from the dual POV of Thorne and Iris. Thorne is an alpha who needs to mate, and Iris is a human who runs a combo animal rescue/veterinary clinic.
How they meet is one of the funniest circumstances I’ve seen so far in a shifter book. It makes complete sense that a pack has to deal with situations like that, and it made me chuckle. And then how Thorne plays it all off, it’s just a fun way to portray a situation that happens in most shifter stories and set the tone in a great way.
I already have my suspicions on who Evander’s mate might be, so I will need to keep reading to find out!

Considering she grew up a human and he grew up a shifter, it's surprising he didn't know how much bonded they really were
She grew up human and knew there was more there, just wasn't exactly sure what that was until it was shown to her.
I suppose neither of them really had anything to learn by in seeing how they both grew up.
Luckily they get help in learning about true fate.
Together they are both learning and both teaching a new generation.

Iris is running a wild life rescue centre - and when Thorn comes there looking for a wolf that has been brought in, she is suspicious of him. Thorne and Iris’s story has them meeting when he has to pick up one of the teens from his pack. She is there since she runs the place, she’s the vet for the rehab facility. These two go out and when things got heats she winds up pregnant and tells Thorne. He’s accused her of cheating since he knows she can’t get pregnant with his wolf cub since she’s human. A twists has them finding out things to keep them together.

Thorne, on the other hand, is the Alpha of a newly relocated pack, with the responsibility of keeping his people out of harm's way. From the moment they meet, there is an undeniable attraction between them that Thorne struggles to resist.

I picked this one up for my scavenger hunt as I needed shifter romance. I loved the idea that the shifters are living among the human's under the wild life rescue center. It totally made sense and worked so well for the story. Iris is a perfect character I just adored her she's such a great character to be mated to our Alpha. They have the instalove mate chemistry which is exactly what I expected for a steamy shifter romance. It's a quick story but a great read to devour in one sitting.

I enjoyed this story. Iris is a sweet, down to earth veterinarian who runs a wildlife rescue. Thorne is the Alpha of a pack that’s recently moved to a new state and needs to keep his people safe. Upon meeting each other a spark is ignited inside Thorne and he can’t seem to keep away from Iris.
This was such a fun read and I cannot wait to see t book 2 has in store for us!

A fun story were a wolf meets a cute human but ends up messing it up. But int eh end his pack helps them both out. But of course their happy ending is plagued with trouble, danger, misunderstanding and a alpha wolf being a bit bad and screwing it all up for himself. I laughed and groaned and enjoyed the journey. Thorne and Iris were fun to watch fall for each other.

While this isn't the longest book, it was definitely a good read. I think the time-crunch of finding someone to mate would definitely cause problems for the shifter population. I thought Iris forgave Thorne for his "mistake" way too easily, but I get it. I expected the "twist" in the story, but that didn't make me like it any less.

I wanted to really like this book and it honestly fell very short for me. While it had a good story, it felt like a lot of other warewolf stories, and I didn't find anything truly unique about it that would make it love it. At times the story felt forced and I didn't find any real depth to the main characters. It was a cute and short one time read.

Super sweet novella which follows Iris and Thorne. I enjoyed reading the story and couldn't put the book down.
