Half Dome, Whole Heart: National Parks Romance, Book One

Rate this book
A park ranger. A city boy. And only one tent. Donna McIvers loves her job as a ranger in Yosemite National Park. She'd be happy to spend all her time there camping in the woods or showing kids how to leave no trace. But a chance encounter and a freak storm have trapped her in a tiny tent with the President's son.

Lincoln Stanwich would rather be back in the city, but his mother needs his help to boost her re-election chances. So he finds himself in Yosemite Valley, where a walking tour escalates quickly into a bear encounter and a sprained ankle.

Spending time with Donna can help soften his bad-boy image. She’s hoping he can get Yosemite to the top of the funding priority list. Will one night in a tent lead to them helping each other without losing their hearts?

Donna McIvers loves her job as a park ranger in Yosemite National Park, but she hates the city folk that don’t like nature and don’t respect the park. Lincoln Stanwich would rather be spending his time in the city, but he’s come to Yosemite for a photo shoot for his mother’s presidential re-election campaign. Donna’s job is to take Lincoln on a short walking tour, and she’s sure she’ll hate every minute of it. But a bear encounter and a freak storm force them to spend the night in a tiny tent, and Donna starts to see that there’s a different side to Lincoln. Lincoln, meanwhile, is looking for his own passion in life, and is drawn to Donna’s passion for the park. But will media attention from the election damper their burgeoning relationship?

Very fun and very cute short romance novel with lots of heart for National Parks.

(I did get a copy from the author, but I did really enjoy it).

Opposites Collide

Donna McIvers has her dream job in Yosemite National Park. She loves the outdoors and enjoys giving programs to youth. Just don’t ask her to step in front of a camera.
Cameras and media are a normal part of life to Lincoln Stanwich, after all, his mother was a senator before elected US President. In the process of assisting her re-election campaign, he meets Donna. The day goes from sunshine to bear, tumble, and rain in short order.
Ms. Bailey creates interesting characters and gives them a passion – for the recognition of Native Americans and the climate—as well as each other. I’m looking forward to more books in this series.

The author's knowledge and appreciation of Yosemite shines through. Opposites attracting added to the fun and the characters are relatable. Hope there are books more in the series.
