Cara, senti que o livro era muito grande sem motivo ao finalizar a leitura. A primeira metade é boa, mas muito arrastada e a segunda é a mesma coisa. Agora o fim é tão qualquer coisa sabe, os climaxes são muito jogados e a construção da história não rola, até a terceira parte.
O livro é o romance e só. Acho que coloquei muitas expectativas (não coloquei nenhuma)

Megan is in jail for killing someone—even though it was in self-defense. Now, she has to deal with prison life, where the guards are rude and clearly don’t like her. She handles it well enough, until one day she discovers someone has posted her bail. At first, she doesn’t believe it could be Trevor, the second-in-command of the New York mafia, but little by little, things start to unravel. Trying to find a way to repay the debt between them, Megan ends up becoming Trevor’s personal bodyguard. However, whenever they’re in the same room, sparks fly—sometimes literally. Could it be that the hatred they swear they feel for each other… is actually something else?

This book genuinely surprised me. I’d always been hesitant to start this series because of the sheer number of pages in the first book. But I decided to go for it anyway—and I’m so glad I did. On the ebook, this story clocks in at almost two thousand pages, yet I didn’t feel like it dragged at all. The secondary characters are so fun, so well-developed, that you don’t mind spending more time in their world. The author was smart to weave in subplots and layers that actually matter. The writing style is different from anything I’ve ever read, but it’s so unique that, in a weird way, it works beautifully.

And then there’s one of my favorite couples of all time. Trevor and Megan have insane chemistry. This is true slow burn—watching them dance around each other for almost two thousand pages made my whole month. I really hope the next book doesn’t take too long to come out! In the meantime, I’ll be diving into book two (and maybe the spin-off soon).

O livro é maravilhoso como um todo, as paquitas malvadas são a personificação de alegria e loucura e melhores amigos, apesar de brigarem. A forma como a autora fez a gnt ficar sem entender se a megan tava do lado dele ou da mãe, é uma loucura, mas adorei cada segundo e o desenvolvimento dela consigo msm. Isso foi gigante.
Achei divo dms, a maeve então que o diga , a personalidade igual a do trevor, se não melhor ainda. Muito icônica. Amei todos, simplesmente leria e vou ler dnv. Recomendo dms !
