This is my second read of Blood Moon, and I can't recommend it enough! It's a sweet and spicy novella featuring a plus-size witch, Hazel, who has recently been having trouble with the club across from her bar, poaching and harassing her customers. After a stressful day at work, Hazel goes to a party her coven is hosting hoping to relieve some stress; and ends up relieving it in the form of Vlad, a sexy vampire. However, Hazel quickly comes to learn that Vlad is the owner of the club she keeps having problems with. She vows to not see him again, the only problem is she can’t stop thinking about the time they spent together. Let me tell you this book is HOT! The dirty talking and spicy scenes were so good; I love how Vlad and Hazel explored each other and what they wanted. Anyone who loves spicy novellas should check this out; I feel like this would be a perfect Halloween treat!

How pretty is the cover? It incites cover lust but it's a shame it doesn't translate to what's inside. This was certainly high steam monster smut between Vampire Vlad and Witchy Hazel, however the story itself was colourless.
“Is that what you want?” he asks almost gently. “You want a near stranger to fuck away your worries? Make you feel like the slut your mind is begging you to be?”
These two might be getting it on at first glance, but Hazel doesn't know that it's Vlad who is jeopardizing her small business Witchhazel. And any interaction where they're trying to sort things out only leads to sex.
So why am I complaining when my whole aim was to seek out a hot dirty novella? There was no chemistry and the story itself had no momentum. I get the whole plus sized, pink haired beauty. But paired with a lean, pasty vamp? Doesn't do it for me.

i wouldn’t say this novella was bad, i was just so bored with it personally. I just really didn’t click with the story or feel convinced by the relationship. Still I’d say it might be worth a shot if you’re looking for an erotic paranormal with plus sized rep.

I went into this novella with no expectations and loved it! The dynamic between the hero and heroine was so fun and there was so much going on in the plot even though it was just a novella. The pacing was perfect and it was fun to watch the hero want the heroine but her not trust him because his club was trying to run her bar out of business. The community was cool and I loved the other relationships in here as well. Such a unique paranormal that I'd definitely recommend picking up!!

I love love loveeee this book!! Hazel is that witch you just love! She's sassy strong and doesn't take nothing from anyone she has a huge problem there is another club that's trying to ruin her club but she's not worrying about that she needs a drink and maybe some fun with someone enters Vlad a cold smooth Vampire who was watching her shower and interested in more. One night between them it's dirty it's delicious until Hazel finds out Vlad is her club manager and rival. These two have few more run ins and are fighting the sexual tension and tricks. VLAD IS THE MOST FKING HOT VAMP I READ!!! his mouth guys... just kill me with those dirty words lol

This was a cute little Halloween novella! Hazel is a witch and she owns a cute little bar called The Witchazel. When a new bar opens right across the street from her called The Blackdoor, she’s pissed at their aggressive marketing techniques. If you can call poaching her business a technique.
She’s unwinding at a party where she meets Vlad, and they immediately hit if off and then HIT it off. He’s smitten and she’s…not so much. Because then she finds out that Vlad is the new owner of aforementioned poaching bar. He doesn’t understand why she’s so pissed, until he finds out about his pushy investors and realizes that she’s right.
I really liked Vlad and Hazel, they’re sweet characters and I loved them together. And how Vlad gives up his dream when he realizes that Hazel is his actual dream. Very cute and sweet!

My mind is all overwhelmed and stressy at the moment, and as such, I craved something mindless and smutty and short-ish, that would still deliver me the spooky-season vibes I always crave in my October reading. Serendipitously, Blood Moon happened to be a totally random find during my recent KU explorations and SWEET JESUS did it hit the spot in practically every way I needed it to.
Hazel is a plus-sized, pink-haired, tattooed potions witch, who runs a successful bar for the supernatural locals to gather and be themselves. But her business is being threatened by a new club that has opened up across the street, whose promotional marketing strategies are veering into sabotage territory for irritated Hazel, and by God, she is not having it!
In desperate need to blow off some stem, Hazel ends up sleeping with a text-book gorgeous vampire, at a friend’s mixer—the single hottest sexual encounter of her entire life—but, in the afterglow she is blindsided to find out her sexy hookup is the manager at the new club, and therefore her new personal nemesis.
Hazel is hellbent on fighting back and playing dirty (if she needs to), trying desperately to ignore the still sizzling chemistry between herself and vampy Vlad, but he has other ideas—the kind of ideas that involve less fighting and more nudity, and perhaps even the promise of something a little more serious and long-term, with the sexy, voluptuous witch that has utterly bewitched him body and soul.
There’s a bit of plot and world-building here, which I enjoyed, but mostly it was all chemistry and sexual passion between these two not-so-real enemies, as they grew extremely intimate and intertwined in each other’s lives, super quickly. It’s insta-lust more than insta-love, but I was vibing this pair so hard I cared nought for the speed with which their relationship progressed.
And the smut!? Holy shit!!! This was HOT and KINKY and it made me forget my troubles for the brief moment of time I was immersed in Hazel and Vlad’s steamy little story. Honestly, it was probably the hottest M/F novella I’ve read all year, so either I’m off my usual game or this was an unexpectedly delightful and sexy little treat for yours truly.
I liked these characters and this urban fantasy world Graves created here, and I look forward to exploring more of her delicious PNR offerings in the very near future. I hear gargoyle shifters are next on the menu, and I won’t be saying no to that!

TENGO QUE HABLAR DE ESTA NOVELA.
Tengo que comentar tanto cosas buenas como malas. Ahora, con esto no quiero decir que sea una mala novela. Le he puesto tres estrellas y yo normalmente puntúo la novela desde un punto de vista objetivo; subjetivamente esta novela subía a una cuarta estrella.
“Divine Goddess, daughter of war and passion, of revolt and retribution. We’ve been wronged, our creations have been attacked”.
En primer lugar, voy a admitir que la portada al mismo me encanta y me “tira para atrás”. La primera vez que la vi dije mentalmente, “mi madre que portada tan explicita”, pero no vamos a negar que es preciosa, sobre todo los colores y a mí el dibujo me parece sublime. El artista que la ha hecho se merece mis felicitaciones.

Sin embargo, siento que con estas portadas suele haber el estigma y yo misma lo admito. Tu ves esta portada y a no ser que de buenas a primeras tengas ganas de leerla, pasas de largo. Por este motivo estoy haciendo esta reseña también. Si has llegado a leer hasta aquí, gracias.
He de admitir que a esta autora ya la conocía, leí una novela suya hace relativamente unos meses. Sin embargo, no fue del todo de mi agrado porque no me gustó la relación de los personajes y su interacción. Sin embargo, como intento no juzgar los libros por sus portadas, tampoco intento juzgar a un autor por una sola obra, (salvo que sea algo que muy fuerte que yo moralmente no considere correcto).
Entonces, mis expectativas con esta novela no eran del todo las mejores. Obviamente sabía lo que me iba a encontrar. Por eso busque el momento que necesitase “oxigenar” mi cerebro lo máximo. Eso hice y no creo que hubiera otro momento más perfecto para ello.
Como dije antes esta novela tiene tantas cosas buenas como malas. Por eso quiero empezar por lo bueno.
• La ambientación: aunque sea fantasía urbana y cliché, una vez te sumerges te ves en un mundo lleno de colores sobre todo vivos y vibrantes.
• Los personajes: carismáticos, polos opuestos (de eso va la novela) y graciosos en su justa medida.
• Entretenido: no se va de las ramas.
Ahora, en cuanto a las cosas malas, se puede resumir en una que lo engloba todo.
• La extensión: es muy corta. Por ende, lo que sucede es que no se produce un buen desarrollo de los personajes, historia.
En resumen, se me quedó corta, no, lo siguiente. Me dio rabia, no lo voy a negar. Quiero leer más de la autora porque sé que tiene potencial.
Denle una oportunidad, en serio. No creo que pierdan el tiempo, salvo que no les guste este tipo de novelas, ante eso no se las recomiendo.

I absolutely loved this!!! It was truly everything I wanted in a monster/paranormal novella. It was short without being abrupt, HOT, with likable characters and great writing.
Vlad—yes Vlad the vampire—was a bit too goth bf for me (I think I’m a werewolf girl) but other than that this worked on every level. I want more!!! I hope it’s a series.

2.5 stars rounded up. Interesting world building attempt but a pretty simple story. Hazel owns a bar and she has a quickie with the "Owner" of a rival bar before she finds out who he is. I say quickie rather than a 1 night stand since that is pretty much what happened once Hazel discovered who he was. HE knew who she was, so minus points for VLAD (really? You ARE allowed to name vampires more modern names).
They are rivals but not really since VLAD is just an employee with a vision (?) of a bar he wants. Turns out he wants The Witchazel. He can read Hazel's mind since he sampled her blood, so this was funny as she thought ALL kinds of dirty thoughts about him:
“Hazel.”
I nearly shout out the name with the effort it takes to hold back a groan. I’m in pain. My cock, thick with need, threatens to bust the fly of my pants open. My fingers dig into the edge of my desk, the faint sound of wood splintering interrupting the silence.
“You have to think of something else.”
I try to clear my mind, but the witch has made it impossible.
“Why?” Hazel smiles, looking just as flushed and desperate as I feel but suddenly much more self-assured."
And since I don't like being called a "dirty slut" over and over, this just didn't resonate with me. Hey- no judgement.
So, this was supposedly a body positive story, correct? With a 6 ft. larger sized woman. I have to say it becomes LESS body positive when her "rolls" and generous size and height are consistently pointed out. We get it! No need to repeat things like the following:
"Your hips, so generously full, just waiting for me to hold on, to pull you in close. " OMG
I swear, if ANY man said that to me while having sex, I would bust up laughing. OMG. Not even realistic.

This was just a quick novella that delivers on the steam, charms, spells, and chemistry! Also includes some praise kink, exhibitionism, blood play, and biting. I really enjoyed Hazel and Vlad together and definitely will check out more from this author!

Watch x Vampire, rivalling businesses with a little insta lust mixed in. It was a pretty simple plot but done well. Just one one hundred pages it gives what is to be expected. The spice was really good though. There were a few scenes and each one was pretty decent on my spice scale. That is all that was to be expected anyways when reading this book so it gets a solid three stars from me!

Jillian Graves' covers are stunning, and what made me want to try her gargoyle romance (Titan) and this vampire/witch romance. She has clever worldbuilding ideas - like calling anyone who's magical "Stranges". But I fear I'm just... not that into her.
The reason I DNFd Titan on chapter 1 was the insane info dump-y material. I was relieved this book didn't have the same excess information, but I never felt I was pulled into the story as more than a curious, mostly careless bystander.
The set up is interesting enough: a witch with a vendetta against her new neighbor, who opened a business across the street from hers and has been stealing her customers. Surprise, surprise - the owner is the hero of the story.
The whole bit about mindreading felt super immature to me. I think it was supposed to be like "slapstick funny", but maybe I'm just not a slapstick comedy kind of gal because all I could think was... why.
Between the mindreading and the forced "I hate you! F ME!", I couldn't get into the characters, the romance, OR the smut. And the last is just unforgiveable.

I loved it. I literally loved Vlad and Hazel story. And the better part of it was that it was in the world of Strange. This is how I love my books... short and sexy with a lot of smut and good erotic scenes.
The heat, the spice and the flames between those two is literally off the charts. It was that good, that I couldn't leave the book till I was finished.
If you want to distract yourself from your working days or you just want a little break from life in the form of a book, this story is for you. I definately recommend.

I loved the witch Hazel with her pink personlity and pink hair. She had so much spark and personality which I loved. Hazel has a spicy time together with the vampire Vlad.
I thought their story had so much potential but something was missing. I felt like this romance ended before it started and even though I really liked the Halloween vibes this book was more vibes than a good romance for me.

This was so fun! It’s a one night stand rivals to lovers between two bar/club owners.
I adored Hazel our 6’ curvy tattoo witch FMC. She was just absolutely a blast to read about.
Vlad our vampire MMC was also a total delight. He’s a complete softy for Hazel and determined to make her see them together.

I freaking love when he calls her "little witch". They definitely wasted no time to go for what they wanted, this was a quick read with a bit of drama but mostly spice. Rivals to Lovers after a one night stand.
