Fun Magik story. The art in particular was stellar.

I’ve been a huge Magik fan for years, so obviously I was going to eat this issue up. Ashley Allen throws Illyana straight into a vampire-infested Russia, and honestly, watching my favorite Russian tear through monsters with her Soulsword is exactly the kind of chaotic fun I gravitate towards.

The snowy setting and dark supernatural atmosphere were easily the highlight for me because Magik feels right at home when things get weird, violent, and just a little bit demonic. My biggest problem is that the actual vampire threat never feels quite as dangerous as it should, especially when you remember that this is fucking (if you haven't seen that meme panel, you definitely should) Magik we’re talking about. Still, I’ll forgive a predictable plot when I get to watch Illyana kick supernatural butt and remind everyone why she’s one of Marvel’s coolest mutants on the page and even on screen.

Reading this just made me want to see more of Magik outside the comics, though I’m still 50/50 on whether I’d want Anya Taylor-Joy to reprise her New Mutants role or have a new actress like Sasha Luss take a stab at my favorite Russian. Part of me would love to see Anya get another chance to play Illyana while the other part is curious to see what someone completely new could bring to the character. Either way, give me more Magik, Marvel, because I’ll gladly walk through Limbo for her.

Another fun little entry.
Illyana finds two kids running from vamps and attempts to save them.
She intentionally gets herself captured to make them think that they had the upper hand.
Once the vampires begin their hunt, Illyana reveals herself to he MAGIK and goes on a killing spree.
The head honcho thinks that no one can defeat him, but...
Check it out if you like Magik and vampires!
My only complaint is not really a complaint. Everyone has creepy looking faces in this comic.

I picked up this volume cause I wanted to learn more about Magik as a character after learning about her from some video games.

This volume didn’t really provide any info or characterization so I guess I’ll have to look else where for that.

It also didn’t provide much entertainment value so I’m gonna have to give it a 2.5/5

Good art, good story, good ending - can't fault a thing about this one-shot. It starts off by giving some meaningful backstory and follows through with the protagonist trying to rescue some kids near her homeland from folks that have been turned into vampires and have lost their senses.

My fav comic so far :) I've only read a few but this one really struck me with its incredible art style and such a badass, strong and empowered woman that Magik is. I support women's wrongs, which means I support her beheading vampires with a sadistic smile. Go queen.
