Gray Retribution

Rate this book
Book 4, a continuation of the Tom Gray series. Tom Gray is enjoying time with his family after the birth of his daughter, now three months old, and just wants an easy home life. However, trouble has a way of finding him. While he is visiting his uncle’s new grocery store, thugs arrive demanding protection money, and in the ensuing fight, Gray is hurt. As he recuperates, Gray learns that a team of friends is facing grave danger on a mission in a tiny war-torn African nation, where an evil warlord is kidnapping boy soldiers to do his work in his bid for supremacy. Gray sets off on a rescue mission, but with his attention now divided between two continents, events are spiraling out of control, and Gray must fight to save all that is dear to him. In Gray Retribution , the fourth book of the popular, action-packed Tom Gray series, suspense builds to an unforgettable ending.

Tom Gray's life seems to have settled down until one of his teams, training soldiers in Africa becomes involved in the rescue of a village. As the team battles with child soldiers who must kill or be killed and men who have no respect for human life, Tom comes to their rescue leaving behind a situation in London he knows little about. His wife's aunt and uncle have been threatened by thugs who want payment from their little store to insure their safety, Tom has already tried to make the thugs back off. However, while he is gone things get worse, much, much worse.

As in the previous stories, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Loss!

Another good entry to the Tom Gray series that I listened to for free with Kindle Unlimited but not my favourite due to the way the story was split between the rescue of Tom's friends in Africa and a gangster out to get him and his family at home. At points I was in tears with Tom but without giving away the plot I wont say why suffice to say this book is a rollercoaster of a ride that will pull at your heartstrings. I really hope that the author eventually will stop torturing our hero but not at the cost of ending this terrific series.

Another Well Deserved 5 Stars

This was book number 4 for me. Each book is a different story but lots of old faces are there in support of Tom Gray. It was action packed from beginning to end. The whole series is so well written. I would urge readers to follow the order that these books were written. As usual, I will not give any of the plot away as it will spoil the journey. My next book will be Gray Vengeance (book number 5) (A massive pat on the back to Alan McDermot and from me a well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tom Gray is getting on with his life caring for his wife and his new baby while trying to keep his business afloat. Not an easy task when he has to fly off and help his staff escape a war torn country in Africa where they were training the new army. After he helps a family member with a problem his life is turned upside and he goes back into revenge mode.

An exciting read in the Tom Gray series that emotionally rips at your emotions when his life is torn apart.

Tom can't seem to catch a break, but fortunately he has friends on both sides of the law who can help, IF they can stay alive. It's an easy mission: break into 4th world country in the middle of a civil war, get his guys out who are out numbered about 100:1, and oh by the way save 2 or 3 villages of innocents from genocide. But the worst trouble is still waiting.... Can't wait to see what # 5 brings. Not tired of Tom Gray yet......

For all the gun fights

... and karate chops.

Story is mediocre, the usual good guys winning over the badass. I wished that the author could use some mythical relics that every government is dying to get or create some inter governmental espionage work to add to the story. Give it some meat.

The writing is good, however. I like how the author writes about the combat situations. They are easy to read but not intriguing. 5-star for the writing, though.

Two in one

Two stories that don’t semm to have anything to do with each other. Both interesting on their own . Should maybe have been 2 books.
Anyway, if even 10% of the African story is true, we live in a very cruel world. Would the author care to enlighten us on what is real and which parts he took author’s liberties.

This was one of the best AND one of the worst. I absolutely hate it when authors kill off a main character, especially one that’s so likable. If this author kills off another MC I’m done with his books.

However, I do like it when authors write more than one story in a book.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 22 times.

As to the narration: James Langton is terrific!

Love this series. Running out of ways to describe how good these books are. The author is ruthless and no character seems safe which makes these novels unpredictable and coupled with the pace of the writing and excellent fight scenes they are absolutely unputdownable!

Gritty

Tom Gray continues his adventures which have both their high points and some seriously low ones. He and his companions are challenged throughout and I couldn’t put this book down.

Tom Gray's life is going well, back in England, new wife and baby, but things are about to change!! His firm is in trouble, his friends are stuck in hostile territory and his wife and daughter have been marked. Good story, that moves at a nice pace, Gray's life is never easy!!

Almost stopped reading...

Not because this book was terrible but because I am emotionally invested in Tom Gray and couldn't bear the thought of what else could go wrong in his life. Now I can't wait for the next book! A great series.

A lot happened in a relatively short book. This was all action from the start and a good read. Interesting area (Africa) to base the story as this does not get the attention it deserves. And poor old "Black Widower" Tom. His next wife had better take care :(.

Tom Gray returns in another punchy, pacy adventure. Two plots run through this book as Tom faces challenges in Africa and the UK.

Good book, if a little predictable in places, although there are some great twists and story ideas. Very good narration too, with good continuity of voices between books in the series.

Good story!

Good story and lots of action. The international part of this story is very troubling. Although not a fact based story, it is something that goes on in our society.
