“You could be the worst person in the world,” she says faintly, “and I’d still come back for more of that.”
Lovers to enemies without being nasty was a welcome change. Because when your memorable one night stand turns out to be the one tearing down your beloved bookstore and workplace; this could have gotten ugly fast.
Instead, Cole and Skye find themselves at an impasse. Which is all very serious except for the fact they can't keep their hands off each other. Oh and the strange scenario where they're dating except not officially while being enemies of course.
“Do you know how good it makes me feel that you’re always wet for me?” I want to respond, but then he’s biting, and my words turn into gasps. “Like the epitome of masculinity,” he continues softly. “You called me that as a joke once. But when you’re wet like this for me, fuck if I don’t feel like it.”
So freaking cute and amusing. Billion Dollar Enemy was effortless to read with hardly any drama. It was fun, clever and had plenty of vanilla steam that was very satisfying. Honestly without the recommendation by Mony I would have missed this fab author. 🩵

This was exactly the story I needed, after my last heartbreaking one. Romantic, with no drama, smooth flow and a beautiful hea!
There was Cole, the handsome billionaire, such a great character!!! Lacking of typical arrogance and harshness, he was sweet and very caring.
Skye was sassy, determined not to lose the bookstore she loved so much. However, she did not treat Cole nicely due to her insecurities.
Their chemistry was full of sparks, their banter enjoyable and falling with each other was absolute pleasure.
Beautifully written with well developed and engaging characters.
I enjoyed it a lot and the epilogue was amazing❣️

I am loving this book. Cole is such a gentleman. He is ny new book boyfriend. The whole story reminds me of You've Got Mail movie.
This is my first read by Miss Hayle. Billion Dollar Enemy is the most polite enemy to lover romance.
Skye is kick ass heroine. She tried to hold on to her dream and I am glad she finally find a new dream. I love the banter, the characters development, the whole plot. Such a refreshing story.

I am in one of my moods where, I just can’t find anything I want to read. What I really want is a gritty MC or Mafia series and I can’t seem to find one (that I haven’t already read, I should add) so I am playing it safe with easy to read standalones for now.
This one is another feel good romance.
Cole Porter is a billionaire developer, and he is set to demolish the bookstore our heroine, Skye, works at to make way for his new hotel.
Skye and Cole meet prior to this revelation and sparks fly between the pair of them and they spend the night together.
Once Skye realises that the stranger she spent the night with is in fact the man who plans to tear down her dreams, she proposes he give her two months to turn around her failing book store and make it profitable. If she does the store stays and is incorporated into the new hotel and if she can’t, and it continues to make a loss, then he can tear it down as planned. Despite his team telling him how ridiculous the offer is, Cole accepts Skye’s challenge.
We then follow Skye and Cole over the coming months. Cole, who despite it not being in his best interests, finds himself at the book store with Skye most evening.
Their story was sweet, there was nice chemistry between the pair. The storyline is quite mundane so there are parts in this book that felt a little dull, but it doesn’t take too much away from the feel good factor. Despite being a billionaire tycoon, Cole is really a very genuine down to earth guy. It is actually Skye who is quite rude.
The story ends on a tiny little twist, one that was pretty obvious. Given I picked this book up to fill the gap while I decide what I want to read, it did the job.

Дівчина пропонує Коулу угоду: якщо протягом 2 місяців книгарня принесе прибутки, то її включать в інтер'єр готелю, і не зноситимуть.
Несподівано, але мені сподобалося. З перших розділів я була скептично налаштована, бо починалося все трохи крінжовенько, але в цілому історія непогана. Мило, просто, передбачувано, якраз те що треба, щоб відпочити від закручених сюжетів.
Троп "від ворогів до закоханих" трохи притягнутий за вуха, бо з його боку ніякої ненависті чи ворожнечі не було, а з її — були лише намагання переконати себе і всіх навколо, що вона його ненавидить. Проте це навіть не дратувало.
Мені сподобалися прояви турботи з боку Коула, їхній взаємний потяг один до одного, чесність, відкритість і така якась легкість у стосунках. Були і поспішні висновки, і драма-queen моменти, але загалом історія залишила по собі лише позитивні враження.

This a new author to me and thought that it was going to be another plain contemporary romance . But nope! This book went right to my soft spot. Loveeed everything about it!
The funny banter they had.
The amazing chemistry.
The well-developed characters and their great personalities.
The perfect communication both H and h had. It made any little problem not evolve and could resolve it inmediately.
I already have the next book on this series on my tbr. Hopefully it is as good as this one.

It was light, quick, easy to read, the chemistry between them was so obvious all throughout the book.
As an HEA it was clear how it will end, the surprising part was how we got there, and it was quite an unexpected and pleasant turn of events.
There was a bit of inconsistency in the book. Nothing that can't be overlooked, but something that could have definitely been fixed with a tiny bit of editing.
Will I read other books by the author? Probably. Would I do it alone? I might need some encouragement, but not because she's not good, not at all she's quite good, but more like I (personally) needed a bit more.

i read the whole new york billionaires series by olivia before and i enjoyed it so so much! it wasn’t the best series i’ve ever read but it just the type of romcom you need in your life sometimes.
with this one, i was having such a nice time at the first half, but somehow i just got REALLY bored? for such a short book i felt like i was reading and reading and just not reaching the end. i even skimmed through the last chapters and that’s something i never do. maybe it’s just a me problem.
however, i’m still excited for nick’s book and hopefully it’ll deliver the enjoyment i felt on other books by olivia.

Recommended listening to audiobook, the narrator is *chef kiss* it deserved 5🌟 it's such a sweet, romantic and calm book. I can see the development of relationship which i appreciate and despite being a "billion dollar" book, it's different than any other billionaire hero since Cole doesn't pushed his lavish lifestyle towards Skye, their love blossom because they've been spending time together. There's a conflict that a bit dramatic/cliche to me and I'm thinking of giving it 4🌟 but it was safe by the way our hero handled the drama and our heroine not being dramatic and realised her flaws.

then well the “hate” will start and some and they will make a bet; if she and her friend wins will be able to make the bookstore profitable in two months it will remain there and they will build the hotel with without demolishing it and if they don’t manage to make it profitable in two months then it will be demolished and during this months Cole and Skye will meet more and their lust will be still there and so strong and after not being able to ignore the attraction between each other they will have an arrangement to be in a casual relationship aka “just sex” but we all know how this goes in books don’t we ? 😂

this book was so good! the enemy aspect is not that big, i'd say is more animosity than hate.

Billion Dollar Enemy is very sweet, sexy and entertaining enemies-to-lovers (or more accurately lovers-to-enemies-back-to-lovers) romance that gave off slight You've Got Mail vibes (if You've Got Mail was R-Rated that is).
Skye is a force to be reckoned with. She is really stubborn, passionate, tenacious woman that does not give up easily and I really liked her character. She meets the ruggedly mysterious Cole one night in a hotel and they have an amazing night of passion, unknown to her that Cole is a wolf in sheep's clothing. When she finds out that Cole is the one looking to demolish the book shop she works in, that's when the real fun begins. While she hates Cole for wanting to destroy something that means so much to her, she can't deny that the chemistry between them burns super hot and they engage in bit of enemies with benefits type of relationship. At times she was quite cruel to Cole when he was being nothing but caring and kind which did not sit well with me, because he really didn't deserve it. But she was so blinded by her hate for him that she did not see Cole for who he really is. For the longest time she saw him like the rest of the world saw him; as the ruthless billionaire that always gets what he wants, no matter who he hurts in the process.
I adored the hell out of Cole. Everyone saw him as the heartless billionaire, but underneath the expensive suit was just a fluffy marshmallow with a heart of gold. He has been burned in the past and it has been a while since he had a serious relationship. But he has noticed Skye right away and that was the first time in a while since he was even remotely interested in a woman. Of course he had his work cut out for him, because she hated him. I love that we got few chapters in Cole's POV as it really shows you his perspective and his struggle with the fact that he is the one demolishing Skye's livelihood. It really makes you love him even more, as it showcases that while he may have a personal driver and VIP tickets for baseball games, he is still a human being that feels compassion towards others.
Billion Dollar Enemy is heart-felt tale about two people who might appear to hate each other, but really they just don't know how to act around each under the given circumstances. They don't want to acknowledge the fact that they would be great together, instead they hide their true feelings behind hate and anger, often leading them to say things they don't mean. Really light and fun read!

For the longest time she saw him like the rest of the world saw him; as the ruthless billionaire that always gets what he wants, no matter who he hurts in the process.
I adored the hell out of Cole. Everyone saw him as the heartless billionaire, but underneath the expensive suit was just a fluffy marshmallow with a heart of gold. He has been burned in the past and it has been a while since he had a serious relationship. But he has noticed Skye right away and that was the first time in a while since he was even remotely interested in a woman. Of course he had his work cut out for him, because she hated him. I love that we got few chapters in Cole's POV as it really shows you his perspective and his struggle with the fact that he is the one demolishing Skye's livelihood. It really makes you love him even more, as it showcases that while he may have a personal driver and VIP tickets for baseball games, he is still a human being that feels compassion towards others.
Billion Dollar Enemy is heart-felt tale about two people who might appear to hate each other, but really they just don't know how to act around each under the given circumstances. They don't want to acknowledge the fact that they would be great together, instead they hide their true feelings behind hate and anger, often leading them to say things they don't mean. Really light and fun read!

nice quick read
There is plenty of chemistry in this one. Cole was awesome, hot rich sexy CEO meets bookstore worker Skye, (not in the bookstore, but on a one night stand) then runs into Cole again as he is going to demolish the store. I loved how this played out.

Avevo letto un'altro libro di questa autrice, che non mi aveva convinta al cento per cento. Quando ho iniziato questo la paura di un'altra delusione era dietro l'angolo, invece devo dire che non ha nulla a che vedere con il precedente, sembra scritto da un'altra persona, non solo mi ha convinta ma mi ha fatto venire una grande curiosità sui prossimi protagonisti che non vedo l'ora di poter leggere.
Skye lavora nella libreria che la vista crescere il suo sogno è di poter pubblicare un libro ma, non è facile quando non si ha l'ispirazione è proprio per questo motivo che una sera si reca in un locale per osservare le persone attorno a lei e sperare che la sua vena creativa subisca una scossa, qui si imbatte in Cole, con lui si lascerà andare come non aveva mai fatto prima nella vita, avranno una notte piena di passione che finisce il mattino dopo, con Skye che lascia un semplice biglietto con scritto, "Grazie per ieri sera, stallone."
"Per una vita, questo è stato il mio luogo sicuro. Il mio rifugio dal mondo, dalla scuola e da casa."
Immaginate la sorpresa quando scopre che Cole vuole demolire la libreria in cui è cresciuta e a cui è molto affezionata. È passato dall'essere l'avventura divertente di una notte, il sesso perfetto, ad un errore, peggio ancora, un nemico.
Anche Cole è sorpreso quando scopre che la donna sexy con cui ha trascorso una delle notti più belle della sua vita lavora a "Tra le pagine" la libreria dove deve sorgere il suo nuovo hotel.
Nonostante l'attrazione Skye non può lasciarsi andare tra le braccia del nemico e sarà combattuta tra la lealtà e la passione per la biblioteca e il sentimento che sente nascere per Cole.
Cole sa che ciò che lo lega a Skye è più del sesso strepitoso che hanno fatto ma, sa anche che lei non smetterà mai di odiarlo nonostante la chimica tra di loro sia esplosiva.
C'è qualcosa che gli ritorna in mente, una frase che ripeteva sempre il padre, "Non c'è mai una sola opzione. Trova la terza via. E li che c'è il successo." è proprio questa frase sarà la chiave per risolvere il suo problema e far in modo che Skye smetta di odiarlo.
Riuscirà nell'impresa?
«Anche quando mi odiavi, e anche quando mi facevi impazzire, è sempre stato chiaro che fossimo destinati a stare insieme.»
Una lettura veloce e scorrevole la storia è ben strutturata e i personaggi sono ben caratterizzati, ho amato il loro modo di punzecchiarsi con battute frizzanti e irriverenti il sesso non è l'elemento fondamentale ma c'è una giusta dose di spicy che non guasta mai. L'autrice ha lasciato intendere chi saranno i protagonisti del prossimo libro e non vedo l'ora di averlo tra le mani.

olivia hayle’s books are just quick, easy and fun reads and if you’ve read anything by this author already you will probably get the same thing but in a slightly different font. almost NO ANGST, just a fun FAST BURN evening romance read.
the constant reminding that skye was doing by calling her and cole literal SWORN ENEMIES FOR LIFE <3!!!!! was cheesy but so what.
and cole was great but sometimes it would get confusing. like do we like the guy or is he public enemy number one? (ok #2 because nick is #1 i guess)

not a personal favorite from olivia, so i’m a bit disappointed. it was cute, cliché and full of fluff, but i was pretty bored and kinda forced myself to finish.
and how many times can the characters say “oh?” before i loose my shit? idk i lost count after the millionth.

I started this book because I didn’t have my cr with me and decided to read it because it was on my kindle unlimited. It was short and simple it was pretty predictable but I mean most romance books are. I wasn’t expecting a show-stopping book it was just late at night and I was in the mood for a billionaire romance. Would I read it again ? Possibly but probably not in the near future but it’s always an option

3.5 stars. I actually enjoyed this book quite a bit but knocked down the rating because the ending didn’t totally deal with all of the open issues. I wanted a bit more closure with some parts of the storyline. However, this book had a really good epilogue, going about 2 years into the future, so that did help a lot.
This story is really reminiscent of “You’ve Got Mail” … except the heroine is a lot more idiotic and totally unreasonable when it comes to how the world works. The hero and heroine meet right at the start of the story and have a ONS. They then go their separate ways for a month or two (I forget which one) and reunite only when the hero is getting ready to shut down the bookstore where the heroine works. She takes his actions as a personal attack on her, making him out to be some sort of villain. There were parts that made me wonder if the heroine was actually an adult, because she wasn’t acting like one. Anyways, the hero and heroine reunite and make a sort of bet regarding the future of the book store. If the bookstore can be profitable in 2 months time, then the hero will not demolish it, instead making it into a part of the new hotel he’s building on the site. It’s a very low bar for the store to meet, and they get to work (doing everything that should have been done years prior to the start of this book). There’s some angst, but not too much, some steam, some unreasonable behavior from the heroine, and some really sweet moments thanks mostly to the hero. They also get a really nice HEA.
Overall though, I think this book was worth the read. I enjoyed it, and now wish more books by this author were available on hoopla.
Safety was questionable only because it’s not totally clear if the hero had other partners during the separation, although nothing was mentioned one way or the other, I just wished it was clarified. Otherwise, no others for either of them. No om/ow drama. Hero was a manwhore in the distant past but had changed his ways long before the story began. He was also engaged to a woman who cheated on him. Heroine was not a virgin, but a lot less experienced in general.
