Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.) are five ordinary friends with an extraordinary secret: they each have the power to control a natural element-air, water, fire, earth, and finally, the mysterious "Heart of Candracar." The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds. Between school, family, and a new interest in boys, these girls had enough to worry about! But now they have the secret to turn into a group of friends with special powers . . . destined to fight the evil Prince Phobos in the magic world of Metamoor. W.i.t.c.h. combines fashion and fantasy, magic and middle school, heroism and humor, friendship and family, teamwork and transformation, in a wholesome mix proven to charm the tween girl market. Introducing a hybrid format that combines four-color comics with a traditional chapter book format.

This one was mostly just filler and it didn't really add much to the story. I still found it to be entertaining though and I had fun reading about the (mostly mundane) adventure that the girls went on.

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

The latest installments in the lives of pre-teen sensation, W.i.t.c.h. With cool comic book pages!
When Hay Lin writes a play about the legend of the four Dragons for school, her friends get involved. The story is actually about the origin of the Guardian’s powers. Each girl is anxious to learn more about that history so that she can become stronger and more powerful. During an unexpected journey to Candracar, each girl is faced with physical and emotional challenges. Are the girls worthy of their powers and of their roles as Guardians of the Veil?

The Four Dragons
PLOT: The principle gives Hay Lin the job of coming up with a story for the class to perform for the school's play. Hay-Lin decides on a story based on a legend passed down in her family about Four Dragons. The story turns out to the origin story of where W.I.T.C.H's powers come from. Meanwhile, the Grumpy Sisters try to cause a split in the group by stirring up bad feelings between W.I.T.C.H with lies. Will receives a call from a teacher (that's been passing herself off as human but is actually from another world) and informs her that a portal is open and the child of a friend of hers has gotten loose and escaped. It's up to W.I.T.C.H to find the child and bring it home safely

MY THOUGHTS: I'm surprised that the story didn't go anywhere with the Grump sisters. I was half expecting them to be a part of Cedric's army and thus have some kind of powers to bring bad feelings. Kind of like the opposite of what Jasper (from Twilight) can do. I think the story missed the mark there because otherwise the Grump sisters just seemed kind of pointless. And to have W.I.T.C.H so quick to distrust each other and jump down each other's throats so quickly made me think WTH?! Sometimes WITCH can seem so out of sync. But then I guess they have their ups and downs like all teens and this is how they're supposed to look. I liked the tale of the Dragons. I think this was the book's strongest point. And I liked seeing the twist of using how the Dragons were portrayed in such a good way. Usually, they're seen being vicious and destroying everything in their path with fire. The alien child's escape I don't really have much of a comment for.

This was an amazing book about five girls who go on an adventure. I like The way this book is written becouse it is written by each chapter is what one character is thinking so you know what they think about another character or how they feel. In this book Hay Lin writes a play about an old legend her mom told her about and then it turns out that in a way they are living the legend. At first the girls are nervious but they help a boy and save the day in the end. My favorite character is Coriline, She is a brave yet scared girl who can conroll the earth and she is amazing at what she does.
I also like Irma becouse she kind of reminds me of myself. She controls the water. Hay lin is a jumpy happy girl who can fly and control the air. Will is the leader who has a srange power that she doesnt fully understand yet, but she can make furniture talk! Taranee is a shy girl who can control fire and when she is fighting others she gets kind of cocky. This is an amazing book but it is in the middle of a seires and only some people can apreciate this book.

My six-year-old checks these out from the library, pretends to "read" them, and then makes up stories about them. (She'll only let me read her a chapter or two before her imagination takes over.) Way better than all the _____Fairy (Color Fairies, Flower Fairies, Holiday Fairies) books, but I still wish she'd let me read her Harry Potter.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

This was an enjoyable holiday tale, the girls became even stronger as a group to find a missing Metamoor child. They learn about the dragons tale and then they make it half way to Candracar, they get some answer's to their questions. This was very enjoyable and fun to read.

I felt this was a good book in this series to read since I hadn't read this series in a while, the four dragons keeps the original young people charm from it's predecessors.

A great 9th Instalment of the series and so interesting to learn of the Asian/Chinese folktale incorporated into the story which I never realised was real.

Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

Ma fille adore ce livre ; c'est assez surprenant, quoique construit sur le schéma usuel du 4 (+1), soit le nombre exotérique et le nombre ésotérique.
