I'm not sure if this book is perfect, or just perfect for me, but it is easily one of my favourite books of poems I can remember reading. The poems here exhumed memories and emotions through language evocative as the gravedigger's spade. Truly amazing work. It is rooted in a place, but in the most descriptive and arresting way. Earnest and of a place without being kitschy or cloying, it brings a whole melancholic universe to a dim twilight seeping from the pages. Incredibly good.

After reading poetry so much in French I forget how satisfying it can be to read in English. Really lovely poems, a melancholic mood and beautiful imagery. Really enjoyed this one :)
