Yuri Fyodorovich Karyakin (Russian: Юрий Федорович Карякин) - Soviet Russian philologist, writer, publicist and public activist. He was author of many works about creativity of F.M.Dostoevsky.
He graduated from the philosophy faculty of MGU, was a member of KPSS (1961), worked in the magazine 'Problemi Mira I Sotsializma'.
He was dismissed from KPSS in absentia by the Commission of the party of Moscow city for anti-Stlain speech at the meeting, devoted to Andrey Platonov.
He died in Moscow on 18th of November 2011 after tough and long illness, buried on the 21st of November on Peredelkinskoe cemetery.
Oh boy, oh boy, reading a collection of essays and analyses on Dostoyevsky's works in a book printed only in Moscow? One I got while in Moscow? A joyous celebration of Dochechka's finest, with amazing insights from his contemporary Sensualists, to Beebe's 1955 thoughts on C&P, and incredible citations to Fyodor's letters and life that I have never found in American/European sources.
