Envy. Such an ugly sin. Yet, here I am, guilty of it. See, I envy you. You, who wake up in the morning not knowing what your future will entail. A blessed uncertainty filled with hope and mystery, with the potential to make it whatever you aspire it to be. Must be nice—to open your eyes and dream of such a promising existence. I have no such hopeful misguided notions. My fate has been written down on crumpled paper, made smooth and immaculate by bloody tainted hands for the outside world to behold, There is no happily ever after for me but I’ve come to terms with my gilded golden cage long ago. It’s their destiny that keeps me up at night—the pieces of my soul. They are the ones who I would defy the devil himself for and stare true evil in the eye, taunting it to do its worst. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for them, yet I know the wheel of fortune is not in our favor. So, yes—I envy you. While you dream of your colorful tomorrow, I dread its grayish arrival. You see, we were all born rotten. And rotten girls and boys don’t deserve a fairytale ending.
Rotten Girl is the first book in the Rotten Love duet. This is a #whychoose contemporary romance, full-length novel. *Recommended 18+ due to mature language, adult situations, and sensitive content.
Ivy Fox is a USA Today bestselling author of angst-filled, contemporary romances, some of them with an unconventional #whychoose twist.
So don’t be surprised if you pick up a book of hers and find out that her heroine ends up with more than one guy.
Wink wink.
Just like her, Ivy lives a pretty chill life, surrounded by her two most important men—her husband and son. The only thing that keeps her up at night are the fictional characters in her head that can't seem to shut up until she writes their story.
But she's gotten used to them running the show and is all too happy to oblige.
Books and romance are her passion.
A strong believer in happy endings and that love will always prevail in the end, both in life and in fiction.

3.75 stars. This was well written, and i did like the heroine 'Red' but the reverse harem aspect was sketchy...i wasn't really believing it (especially since 2 of the guys were not celibate...and i get that they were still just kids and all...but then how are we to believe our heroine is the 'be all and end all' if you can't keep it in your pants and wait for her.) The poor dude that did restrain himself and keep himself for the heroine, didn't even get to have sex with her (and in fact was standing outside the door and heard everything!)
I liked the mafia aspects that were sprinkled throughout the book...but it was just kind of hard to take anything too seriously when all the main characters were still teenagers.
Big kuddos to the author though, as our heroine was one of those 'everyone wants me, i am just too gorgeous and can do no wrong' girls (i kid you not, every single guy was wanting/lusting after her) and yet i wasn't rolling my eyes and hating her.
Okay, I liked this book BUT I also had so many issues with it as well. First off, I like that it's trying to be a reverse harem.. but it isn't there yet. Plus two of the guys weren't faithful at all.. and the one guy that was didn't even get her freaking V card. So it was like all for nothing. UGH! I was so mad when that happened.. but whatever.
In Rotten Girl you will meet Selene, Vincent, Dom, and Gio. They were four best friends that grew up together while their parents are in this mafia. The guys get into this mob life and sort of distance themselves from Selene.. because she is their weakness. However, it just kind of makes things worse for them all because of the betrayal in this book.
God, so much betrayal. There's also hate, abuse, and death. It also had some scenes of smut or kisses here and there but after that ending - I'm mad. I hate cliffhangers so freaking much and I still haven't decided if I'm intrigued enough to dive into the second book whenever that comes out.
I do believe Rotten Girl has just became my new favorite book by Ivy to date!! Wow!! Just what I was needing for my book funk. I am a huge fan of the darker reads, and add another favorite of Reverse Harem and Bam!! You have me hooked.
The Characters: Selene- I really liked her as the female lead. Ivy does a good job of making her likable, espcially given her life. I liked her sense of humor, her devotion to her guys. She is such a strong charcter, i belive. I liked her instantly. Dominic- He is like the muscle, of the boys. But he has such a big heart for his girl. I love tough guys who love their girls feircely. He alsways seemed to be level headed, and though things through. Gio- Troublemaker is what i thought at first, always a prankster. But as you read more about him, you realize there is more than meets the eye about him. Vincent- As the leader, you know that he will have a alpha male quality to him. He fills that role very well. I didnt know what to feel with him, but when you get to further understand him. I was all about him.
The secondary characters are just as engaging. I did'nt know what would happen, and i was always guessing on what was coming next. Just when i really started to maybe like a charcter, i was heartbroken.
Ivy did a fantastic job of creating a story that is dark, addicting, story line will keep you guessing, and is veryi well written. That ending has me going crazy for book two Rotten Men.
I thought ivy fox could do no wrong..... And dammit i was right!! Soon as i heard she was writing a mafia romance i was dying for it. This book was incredible from start to finish. You got to watch them grow together and get a real honest feel for the characters. Red was such a bomb FMC. She was honest and gritty and knew exactly what was to come for her, what the true life meant. The heartbreak in this book was real, and i can say i shed a tear or two at a certain part, but i wouldn't change it for the world. This book sucks you into the life and doesn't let you go. The way ivy wrote this book, and how the story flowed so effortlessly, stops you from getting confused and you know exactly what is going on. I will say the ending killed me and im so praying for a second part to this book!! I JUST NEED MORE, WELL OKAY.... I JUST NEEDED FOR IT TO NEVER END? But alas we all dont get what we want. I will say that Gio will be added to my harem, ive licked him and called dibs. This is a 5 star read for me, and i cant wait to purchase a paperback for my collection.
Every time I read a new book of yours, I think ‘This is it. It’s my new favorite Ivy Fox book. It’s not ever going to get better than this book, right here.’ And then you release another book and it’s even better than that last one. How? Rotten Girl is my new favorite. Selene and her boys don’t deserve the life they’ve been born into. They deserve so much better. This story made me laugh, it made me anxious, it made me cry. With so many twists and turns, I never saw most of what happened coming. Couldn’t clearly see who was good and who was truly rotten right up until the last few pages. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I am absolutely blown away by the story Ivy has brought to us. To say that I am dying to get my hands on her next installment would be an understatement. At the beginning of her book she gives us a bit of a warning in case one might be too squeamish to handle some of the violence in the story. I admit I can be the squeamish sort with certain things, but nothing about this story bothered me even remotely enough to think about stopping. I loved every character in this story, especially the main characters. Ivy made sure we connected to all of them with giving us a deep insight of their lives all throughout. The characters are so well developed that at some point you don't even know who to root for. Ivy definitely knows how to bring all kinds of emotions out of her readers and she did a marvelous job with this novel. I cannot say enough good things about this book. This is a must read for certain, please do yourself a favor, pick up a copy of this book and you will be greatly rewarded.
When I can’t sleep I download books, So after I finish this review I’m going to write a thank you card to my insomnia.
I fell in love with this book within the first page and I am a self-proclaimed book snob. *bats eyelashes* so that’s saying something. The author executed each and every page flawlessly, as an author I’m totally jealous.
I’m all for a tragic romance that ends in a HEA. I can’t wait for the next book. I need more Dom, Vince and Gio in my life. *taps chin* I think I’ll ask for my own reverse harem for my birthday!
Ivy Fox was a new to me author and after I read an arc of Heartless and loved it I knew I had to go and read her other books.
I loved Selene and the boys. I loved how dedicated to them she was. Ivy Fox had me gripped on this rollercoaster ride of a story and now I need to read Rotten Men!
A gripping, emotional read that had me glued to the pages.
Wow! That's all I can say about this book, Ivy Fox is an amazing writer this is a Mafia RH story and has 4 amazing characters that you will fall in love with. It's a total roller coaster ride with a will they won't they. It's heart breaking I couldn't put this book down. It's a definite must read.
I waited to read this because I had heard such good things and knew I’d want to immediately read the follow up as soon I finished it. It’s sat on my kindle taunting me since it’s release, and I finally broke down, unable to rewrite any longer. Oh my word. So dang good. I don’t even have words. The story kept me enthralled from the very start, leaving me unable to put the book down until I finished. The characters, relationships and dynamics the author built here are just phenomenal, and have me feeling all the things. So many emotions - love, hurt, hate, heartbreak... I highly recommend this book and will absolutely be reading the next installment as soon as it’s available.
This is dark but addictive. I cant wait to find out more. I really like how it was told from all points of view and how it starts off young and progresses through the ages until Selene is 18!
I soooooo enjoyed this book!!! I have always loved a tortured anti-hero and this book produces times three!!!! Selena is such a beautifully, tragic heroine that you can’t help but love her. I can’t wait to read the next book!!!
I found it interesting how it gave a view of their childhood. The book was basically about their lives from twelve to eighteen and it really draws you in. I hope they can all have a happily ever after in the end cause even rotten girls and boys deserve happiness. 😊
Wow,is all I can think right now. From the moment I began reading, I was enamored. What a sadistic, lonely, heart wrenching world Selene lives in, but she has3 men who love her more than life itself. This makes living life somewhat bearable. Cannot wait for the next installment. Bravo Ivy Fox❤❤❤Lisa Lopez is your newest fan.
At first I wasnt so sure I would enjoy this as mob books aren't usually my thing, however, I freaking loved it. I cant wait for the next book to see where it goes!
First book was great. Looking forward to Selene and the guys getting a happy ever after. Book starts when the kids are young and stops on a cliffhanger.
I've read Ivy's other 2 books but this one blows both of those out of the water. I cannot wait for the sequel. This book started out a little strange to me considering they were so young in the beginning. However, I fell in love with Selene, Dominic, Vincent, and Giovanni and loved reading about them growing up together.
This was very unexpected. This is my first time reading from this author so I didn't know what to expect. I'm a sucker for the mafia life books. This was something that caught my attention purely because it was RH Mafia. Not many of those, so my standards are pretty high. I was on edge this entire book, read it in one sitting. I can't wait to read the next book.
Oh man!!! This one gave me some serious feels. The mafia is so damn tricky, you really can't trust anyone, we all know this, but the boys in this story have an amazing, iron clad bond with one fire that keeps them bonded and fused together like a beautifully welded structure: Selene. I feel so bad for each them, and my palms got seriously sweaty with some of these scenes. They're so young and have had to grow up far too fast in the life they are in. You can't choose your blood anymore than you can choose your love. What you can do, is make hard choices and live with the consequences. Damn, I'm gonna cry right now just typing this... soooo many feeeeeels.
This story has it all - intensity, conflicts galore, and serious desire. Think of it like Romeo and Juliet smashed with The Sopranos. At least, that's how I thought of it. This story was awesome and now I'm dying to get my greedy hands on Rotten Men. I need to know what happens next!!!
Take my breath away! This story begins when Selene and her friends are just little kids. As they grow, so does their love, fear and knowledge. Their family is not just who lives in the same house, but all around them. The boys have their initiations and so does Selene. Which ones were easier, is to be determined. This mafia based story is intense to say the least. Steam 9/10 * Sweet 10/10 * Alt 1st POV * RH * Cliffhanger
While this is not something I normally read, I am surprised to say that I absolutely LOVED it. It was just an amazing read. I am patiently waiting for the next book and just can't wait to read. This book had it all. Intrigue, suspense, some humor and some darkness. Rotten Girl grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go.
