Something about this issue feels unfinished to me, I think the fight with the corpses is just kind of strange and that’s why it feels like that. Poor Evan, I’m sure we’ll see him again but I always feel bad for characters that get pulled into hell. Reminds me of Michael from Gerry Duggan’s Deadpool. Phenomenal art again in this issue, the monuments look perfectly ghoulish.
Turns out there are lots of programs out there trying to turn individuals into killing machines...this issue introduces the reader to the Hellfire Warriors (HW)! It might just be me, but the HW remind me of the Cenobites from the Hellraiser franchise. We get a deeper look into what powers are behind the powers that have been supernaturally conjured!
Good second issue, feeling like a typical mini series. Phenomenal first issue, speeds up for 2-4 for a rushed ending. Happy to be proven wrong but this issue lacked any major substance.
