This book no longer really feels like a typical RH. The h seems to really only be with the Max and just fucks someone else every once in a while. So maybe she's mongamish with a sort of understanding of an openish relationship. She refers to the bedroom she shares with Max as theirs. She doesn't really spend much time with the heirs or Avery. She seems to completely forget a mate if they aren't around (Harvey). She really doesn't spend much time with the heirs.

There are a lot of inconsistencies that really started to bug me by this point. In book 1 or 2 the h has to have blood taken or feed people otherwise she becomes swollen with blood. Yet, she goes many days without feeding the heirs or have blood drawn and seems perfectly fine. In fact, in this book, she seems to be mostly away from the heirs and therefore not feeding them nor having blood drawn yet is fine.

There are some truly stupid choices made. For instance, the book full of information about the h is just left in a communal area when they go to eat. Now personally, if I had a book like that I would get a bag/purse/backpack to put the book in so I wouldn't lose it but nope that's not how this group likes to roll. When they get back the group discovers the book missing. The group has a way that could quickly recover the book but nope the h decides to let it be. She's like wait guys why don't we leave the book of our super secrets with whoever took it and see if they'll return it in the next 12 hours or so. What! The! Fuck! Who in their right mind would do this or better yet who would fucking agree to this?

Great Series So Far

This is a review for books one through five.

I have spent the last several days reading what is available in this series and have really enjoyed it. Below is a list of my likes and minor dislikes.

What I Liked:
*Morrigan Starr, the main character. I have very much enjoyed experiencing her character growth. Though there have been a couple of times when her decisions have been nonsensical or questionionable she's never bored me or frustrated me to the point where I no longer rooted for her.
*The plot(s). I have enjoyed the action and how convoluted the machinations of the antagonists kept me wanting to know what would happen next.
*The setting, magic and tone. I really liked all three of these elements.

What I Didn't Like:
*The pacing. I love long books but with these first five it felt like there was too much repetition which bogged down the story. For example, almost every time Morrigan fed the heirs it was described in almost the same way. This was true of many of the day to day activities.
*Many of the harem felt indistinct. I love a large harem but in this story it felt like too many. Morrigan has 10 true mates but Max seems to get the most page time. At this point, I am feeling a bit sorry for most of the vampire mates because Morrigan doesn't have enough time to give each of them quality time and most are staying in the same place. How bad will it be when they are all kings in their own territories?

Overall, this is a fun series and I am very much looking forward to subsequent installments.

This series was one of the first reverse harems I ever read, and I was instantly hooked. Now, every time a new one comes out I reread the entire series from the beginning so I can remember everything. Considering how detailed the plot is, and how many characters there are, it's definitely a necessity.

The series is still going strong, and I definitely still consider it one of my favorites. The author has a serious talent for story ideas, and world building.

That being said, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous books. I just feel like a lot of the male characters are being left behind, some even still not having enough depth to really separate them. There are times when some of them are just completely gone for super long periods of time. (Harvey and Nievan specifically). Meanwhile Max seems to get all of Morrigan's attention while Blade is literally making himself sick with his obsession of the book that tells Morrigan's future.

I still love the series and I am looking forward to continuing to read them. I just hope that we see more time with each of the guys instead of just getting the repetitive feeding scenes that are written almost the same every time.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Never ending epic

Well, this series has really gone on too long. She predicts an additional three books. The story line has morphed from a pnr rh to the evolution of a goddess princess. The fmc now has prime powers in addition to far powers, while remaining a vampire. We barely see her mates or potential mates in this volume. Her main enemies remain in the background while she singlehandedly overcomes new adversity. At least she stops dying (and losing her mate bonds) every few chapters. The best theme is her minor progress developing a school for all supernaturals. Now that plot line might be interesting.
