Rate this book
Imogen and Peter are living the high life as musicians, at least to the outside world.

Peter is murdered and there are only a few suspects, including his wife, Imogen, who swears she had nothing to do with it. Yet doesn't know what happened either.

Imogen has holes in her memories from growing up, all she knows is that her childhood best friend died, but not how or why. She doesn't remember anything else from her youth but if she did, would she be able to solve her beloved Peter's death on her own?

With the help of Veronica, a reporter, and Fritz, Imogen’s therapist, they get to the bottom of not only Peter’s death but Imogen’s lost memories.

A twisted tale full of surprises

Wow! Maya Black surprised me with this one. I was not expecting "Unchained Melody" to have so many twists and turns. I enjoyed the mystery style feel and going on an unexpected journey to the past with Imogen. I had just watched Smile 2 right before starting this book, and I must say it put me in just the right head space for it. Coincidentally it involved a famous singer and mysterious deaths too as well as making one question what is real. Even though it was a total coincidence, "Unchained Melody" was the perfect read after that movie. If you don't mind the triggers, I definitely recommend it.
