In the electrifying romance where the spotlight shines brightly, an unexpected collision between fate and desire sets the stage for a gripping tale of love, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships. In Stealing Home, follow the tumultuous journey of Maylon, a charismatic and talented baseball player, and Kierra, a vibrant young woman with a hidden vulnerability.

Kierra harbors an intense fear of attention, an anxiety that paralyzes her when faced with public scrutiny. As their lives become entwined, they must confront the profound challenge of reconciling their conflicting desires.
Drawn together by an undeniable attraction, Maylon and Kierra embark on a delicate dance of self-discovery, navigating the complexities of their relationship against the backdrop of a demanding baseball season. Together, they confront their fears, push each other's boundaries, and learn that true love requires compromise, understanding, and the courage to embrace vulnerability.
I’m really into sports romances so I don’t know why this one took me so long to read. But this was enjoyable. I hate Kierra’s need to run early in the book even when she thought her man cheated. I’m honestly so happy for Kierra and Maylon but let’s talk Sadie and Ahmad because that whole relationship was too cute to me. She was mature, a great best friend and sister in law and she was always real. I loved her!
My goodness, the author indicated this was her first sports story try, and she did it. I enjoyed this couple. The romantic side was sweet, and the innocence shown by the Kierra was a nice touch. Maylon gave off a cool character vibe. I enjoyed meeting this couple, and this start to a new series... Wink, wink.
I enjoyed Maylon and Kierra’s short but sweet journey. I loved the fact Maylon showed so much love and patience being that Kierra wasn’t used to in the spotlight. Kierra tried to fight her feelings but baby the love wasn’t playing Amy games. Very cute baseball romance.
There is something about this author's books that just speaks to my soul. It's her way of telling a story that just draws the reader in. And this book did just that.
First, I love that she chose a sport other than basketball and football for Maylon's profession. It was so refreshing. Second, Kiki's fear of attention and being in the spotlight added some drama and made the story very relatable.
This story was such an amazing read. Maylon's ball-hitting Kiki wasn't exactly the normal meet cute you read about. Lol. But for these two it was exactly what THEY needed. Maylon and Kiki will find their budding relationship tested over and over. But it's how they fight their way to keep others from tearing them apart that made this book a must-read for me. No spoilers. All I can say is that the dialog and intimate scenes between Maylon and Kiki were some of the most raw, serious, beautiful, deep, passionate, and steamy words I've read for a minute. I will admit my favorite part was what took place at the end of the story. Grab a tissue, you'll need it.
I gave this book 5 stars for the amazing storyline, character development, and relatable aspects of the book, and for being a fabulous read. As her first sports romance, I would say Riley Baxter knocked this one right out of the park! I sure hope she continues to write sports romances. I know I will most definitely read them.
If you're looking for a great sports romance read with a wonderful storyline and guaranteed HEA, then I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This is the author’s first attempt at a sports romance and I think she knocked it out the park. Maylon and Kierra were cute together and it was easy to feel their chemistry off page. This man was so in love with her and was not about to let her fear of the spotlight keep them apart. I loved how they both made adjustments for the other to enhance their relationship. Kierra started out as a runner but she quickly got that together and instead of running away, she ran to Maylon. I would definitely recommend this read and I look forward to what will come next from this author.
The storyline is decent , but the fmc Kierra was super annoying and very unlikeable. She wasn't very good at handling stressful situations and often found ways to sabotage her love life. Instead of facing her doubts head on, she would always run, hide, and cut off communication. Maylon spent a lot of time having to reassure her . While I understood her fears , she made things harder than it should have been.
I couldn’t take Kierra seriously. The girl lusted after every cute guy she saw like come on. Are you a horny teenage girl? Getting mad at your man for a chick sitting in his lap but you over here lusting over a stranger. What’s up with MMC’s being so sappy all the time. I forget who’s the lady and who is the man half the time. The FMC be running away from feelings like a child. Sometimes I just don’t see how these characters be supposedly grown with how they be acting sometimes. Not a bad book but I was over it before halfway through it.
You did it again!!! There are so many things I want to say, but I'll keep it as brief as possible. 🤣
I hate the spotlight and being out in front, so I could relate to Ki on so many levels. But, in the end, she said comfortability get behind me cause this is my man, my man, my man!!!! She stepped up and took all the brakes off.
My guy May, what can I say 🥰 The impact the baseball had on her head was nothing compared to the impact she had on his heart!!! From the jump, the protector kicked in and never let up! May even squared up with a 🥊 to the dome. I know that's right May! My favorite thing he said was WORDS ARE SIMPLE TILL YOU HEAR THEM SPOKEN IN A WAY THAT YOUR VISION CHANGES AS A RESULT OF THE IMAGE THEY CREATE. Girl, I was done!!!!
You did the thang!!! You never deviated from your usual genre. That skill is unmatched!!! Yes, May is a professional athlete, but his choice of career never overshadowed their love!!! He could have been a sanitation worker and there would have been no difference in the love story. You stuck to your guns and I'm so proud of you!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Yes, this has a sports aspect but love was definitely the crowd drawer!!!
I've said this before but it bears repeating...I need to reread ALL your books and rank them from my most favorite to least favorite. I love them all for different tidbits but as your catalog grows this is a must for me to do! Otherwise, I'll never be able to complete the assignment!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fate leads Maylon and Kierra to meet when the foul ball that Maylon hit accidentally hits Kierra in the head. As soon as Maylon visits Kierra in the hospital, they are instantly smitten with each other. The chemistry between them was steamy and I really enjoyed the vibe that they had going. Kierra had to work to overcome her fears but with Maylon's love and support, she was able to do so. I really enjoyed the addition of Kierra's brother and bestie and loved them as a couple. This is the author's first sports romance and she did an excellent job writing it. You need to get this book because you definitely won't be disappointed.
Keirra gets hit by a baseball when she attends her brother’s game. Little does she know that the batter was the man who will change her life. Maylon wasn’t planning on meeting his soulmate but he does when his at bat causes injury to his best friend’s sister.
Maylon and Kierra’s strong connection starts their journey to love but the journey gets bumpy because Kierra hates the spotlight. She has to figure out if her feelings for Maylon trump her fear of the media.
This was a great read and I enjoyed this book from beginning to end!!!…The one thing I learned is that fear will definitely have a person running, but I’m glad Kierra ran to the arms of the man that loved her and was open to full commitment!!!… Maylon was a man on a mission after he showed up to check on Kierra and he never let up!!!… Who would have thought Kierra’s 1st time out to cheer her brother on the field would land her with a hit in the head from a foul ball!!!…
Who would have thought that a hit in head from a baseball would lead to falling in love cause that's what happened. Maylon's ball hit someone in the stands not knowing it's his best friend sister and she's in the hospital, Ki don't like being in the spotlight and that's what happened and she falls in love with a baller. I love the passion and how playful they were to each other Great Book
Tropes: best friend's little sister and insta love.
Issues: the dialogue and writing didn't feel real. There were moments where I would just stop reading and ask out loud "Who speaks like this?" Even the description of their physical attraction to each other didn't seem authentic.
I should have DNF'd but persevered and it simply didn't get any better. I think there is a certain kind of romance reader that will enjoy this but it was a huge miss for me.
For the 1st sports related book, it was awesome. I love all sports related and sek them out. This was really good. Maylon and Kierra were a great couple. Her bestie and her brother fit well into the story. I enjoyed meeting both families as ai enjoyed reading the book. Hope there’s more to come.
Kierra was never a fan of baseball or the spotlight, but after going to opening night for her brother and his team The Thunderbolts, she's hit by a fly ball, ends up in the hospital and meets her future Maylon Yates! Their whirlwind romance was so beautiful. I enjoyed reading about them falling in love. It felt like I was watching it unfold. This was a great read!
I love a good sports romance. Even injury and a foggy brain couldn’t stop Ki from acknowledging her attraction to Yates😂 This was a sweet love story with minimal drama!
I absolutely love a sports romance and this did not disappoint. Waylon was not playing about Kierra and their chemistry was outstanding. Great job—looking forward to more sport romances!
Good story and everything but the twenty five minutes later two weeks later and so forth was kinda getting on my nerves. It was almost like reading a play. All in all good story
So glad Ki overcame her fear of being in the media and that she gave Maylon a chance to love herself. And it is so good that Maylon had his parent's outlook on life and love. Great story all around.
I really enjoyed the positive men characters this author created!! I love how the dad poured in his son and the positive relationships between the families.
This book was so refreshing to read because the men loved their women like Queens❤️
Kiera and Mylon had me in tears this whole book, and I don't mean sad tears. They both were crazy and made for each other. You will definitely enjoy this book even if you don't like baseball.
I’m a sucker for a sports romance troupe. This one did not disappoint. I absolutely love the dialogue between Maylon and Kierra. I also like the fact that it was about baseball not basketball or football.
I love a good sports romance novel! It was very good. Kiara did better than I thought cause her boo was not giving her an option… However, this author’s writing style I’m not too much a fan of.
I enjoyed the book. It was a simple love story that kept you interested throughout the whole book. I’m glad things worked out for Ki and Maylon the way they did.
