Psychometric Theory

Rate this book
The classic text is Psychometric Theory. Like the previous edition, this text is designed as a comprehensive text in measurement for researchers and for use in graduate courses in psychology, education and areas of business such as management and marketing. It is intended to consider the broad measurement problems that arise in these areas and is written for a reader who needs only a basic background in statistics to comprehend the material. It also combines classical procedures that explain variance with modern inferential procedures.

I am the granddaughter of Jum C. Nunnally. I never got the chance to meet my grandfather and I'm very sad when I think about it. He died of cancer when my mother was still a teenager. I myself am one at the moment as I write this...a young one as it is. Please take this seriously because I am giving my respects to this book..and author. I find his work amazing and somewhat heroic! It takes a very smart man to do the math and go beyond the human mind! I am an amateur at explaining the meaning of the psychometric theory because I'm still young but educated. I wish to follow in the footsteps of my grandfather one day. It will be tough but I will keep my grades in good order. I love him even if I never knew him. The way his children talked about him to me....my very uncles and mother...about how we was a kind pleasant man who had a good humor but serious in his research. I look somewhat like him. I have his nose and sometimes they say I act like him which makes me feel warm inside. I want to be just like him. I love you Grandpa.

The main resource to cite and understand the "reliability test" theoretically, fundamentally, and statistically. If you are conducting a quantitative research, this book is, principally, a must to own on your racks.

Pada awal yang terlintas "tebal"... Sering disebut oleh Bu Ilsyana waktu buat MKT. Hampir setiap feedback, "Baca Nunnally!"

This book is one of the "gold standard" texts on psychometric theory. While there are many other excellent books on the topic (particularly those delving into single topics, such as factor analysis or item response theory), this book offers 750 pages of solid scientific theory, heavily referenced, distilling a copious literature into a single volume. A must-read for the novice scale developer.
