I've read most of these as they were released and it's great to have them all together, and I'm really excited to hear how Melanie and Jethro got together.

NOT THE BODYGUARD'S BABY: I liked that this story has both September and Adam's point of view. I enjoy dual POV because then I know what the character is thinking and not just hearing what they said or did from another character. I liked the way the author addressed Postpartum Depression (PPD), which the main female character suffers from. The author didn't gloss over it, and I could tell she had researched the topic.
There were times I wanted to lock September and Adam in a room and tell them they couldn't come out until she had told him everything that had happened since Adam quit being her bodyguard. I'm not a patient person so I can only put up with "I want to tell you but I can't/I'm not ready" for only so long. I knew once September told Adam everything it would be so much easier for them to help her.
I LOVED Mrs. Hastings, the matriarch of this family. She was the best character! You definitely don't want to mess with her. She was the perfect person to help September and September was smart for going to her when she realized she needed help.

NOT THE BODYGUARD'S PRINCESS: This might be my favorite in the series. Andrew Hastings takes over as a bodyguard for actress Jordan Lee, after her long-time bodyguard is shot and hospitalized. He has no intention of following in the footsteps of several of his siblings--falling in love with the people they're hired to protect.
I really liked the suspense element in this story. The previous books also had a little suspense but not as much as this one, and maybe that's why this book is my favorite in the series. Are they after Jordan or her bodyguards? If they're after her bodyguards, why? Who is it? Could it be someone on the security team hired by Hearthfire? So many questions. I never figured out who all was involved, and certainly not why they were doing it. As far as the romance, it wasn't a surprise that they would fall in love, but I enjoyed their journey.

NOT THE BODYGUARD'S BRIDE: Alan Hastings refuses to follow in the footsteps of his siblings--they've all married people they've protected in their profession as bodyguards. It's not something they planned, it just happened, and Alan is determined it's not going to happen to him. Alan rescued ZoElle almost 2 years ago, and since then she's taken self-defense classes and is now a bodyguard at Hastings Security, but Alan can't get the image of rescued ZoElle out of his mind, and it's affecting their working relationship.
Throwing Alan and ZoElle on a cruise ship undercover as a newlywed couple leads to several embarrassing moments for Alan, but fun moments for us readers. His parents are also on board the ship undercover which comes in handy, but one of the best parts of the cruise ship are the Sassy Seniors! Oh my, but they're a hoot and a half. Let's just say elderly people tend to have no filter or no longer care about what others think.
I enjoyed watched Alan and ZoElle dance around each other trying to avoid admitting they have feelings for the other. Thank goodness Alan's parents are onboard because that man may be the smartest of the Hastings siblings, but he's clueless about women and love. I liked how his father helped him see that ZoElle wasn't helpless--she'd fought off her attacker and in the many months since then she'd become as capable as anyone else at the firm. I loved the ending--we get to see all the siblings and their spouses happy, and who doesn't love a happy ending?

THE BODYGUARD'S ANGEL: Jethro and Melanie Hastings' 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and they've planned a getaway, but it looks like their children have other plans for them. The Hastings siblings have involved their children in a surprise gift for the couple by pitting the boys against the girls to see who can get the best stories from their grandparents about how they met, their courtship, etc. It was fun to see how Melanie and Jethro remembered things. We also find out how Hastings Security started.

I look forward to reading the books I haven't read yet

I loved the Hastings family. They are good people. And it is fun that the books combine romance with some intrigue. All the books are clean with varying levels of angst. I found each of the books to be an enjoyable read.

Not the Bodyguard's Baby: This second chance romance has a lot more than a romance in it. It deals with postpartum depression as a main thread of the story and abuse as well. In this story September is abused by two different people. The ex-boyfriend is maybe more obvious but the agent is also abusive in her controlling behavior. I have never experienced PPD though I have depression issues so while I can't really say if PPD plays out like this book shows or not, some of the descriptions fit exactly how I have experienced depression so I felt like it was likely accurate. And Adam was great. He took to "fathering" very well. And it felt real that he would be a safe place for September. She trusts him and his family already. Potential triggers: abuse, depression, attempted suicide, violence, violence against women.

Not the Bodyguard's Widow: In this marriage of convenience romance I liked that Kimberly was not a helpless female even though she had a body guard to protect her. And I liked that Alex wasn't overbearing. He was very sweet actually. I liked the next door neighbor. She wasn't what I expected. It isn't that often that I read a marriage of convenience romance in contemporary time periods so that was kinda fun. Despite there being serious moments of potential life threatening peril the romance itself is pretty fluffy. No surprises there. There were some surprises in the intrigue part though. Her first husband surprised me in the end. Potential triggers: Pregnancy loss, violence against women.

Not the Bodyguard's Boss: In this book they begin on the wrong note but quickly get past that so they can work together. Sparks fly. And of course they lead to a happily ever after. I liked the main characters especially having a strong female lead. Potential triggers: loss of baby, premature birth.

Not the Bodyguard's Princess: I found the intrigue aspect of this book to be compelling. I read the first half one evening and then had to go to bed. I found myself dreaming that I was in the position of having to protect others from danger like a bodyguard. Obviously the story had an impact on me. I kinda guessed who the "bad guy" was early on but I had no idea why or how or who else might be involved until the reveal. The idea of the bodyguard guarding the dog in order to have access to the star was clever. Especially because they were both Princesses. Potential triggers: Attempted murder, stalker, violence against women

Not the Bodyguard's Bride: I liked these characters and was glad to see them finally get their happily ever after. As is the case with each of the books in the series there was intrigue along with the romance, sweet moments, funny moments and tense moments. The fake relationship story moves at a good pace and it was a quick read so perfect for an evening by the fire. Potential triggers: Violence against women

Not the Bodyguard's Angel: I had thought that the series was at an end so it was fun to learn there was one more so we could have the love story of the parents. I loved the way the story was told. A contest between the grandkids, boys against the girls, to see who could get the best footage of the grandparents sharing their story. But they couldn't tell the grands why they were asking questions. It was fun to hear the story from both perspectives. The only intrigue in this book was wondering which set of grandkids would win the prize. This one was all about the romance. A very non-traditional romance. I enjoyed hearing their story as much as the grandkids did. The book isn't very long but I think it might be my favorite of the series. It made me want to start again from book 1 to refresh all the stories in my memory.

Boxed Sets are THE BEST!!!

And when the boxed set has an extra book-even better! I have all of the Hastings Security books, and I have binge read the series multiple times, but I absolutely COULD NOT pass up the opportunity to have the series in a nice, neat, easy to binge boxed set. I loved getting the romance that started the whole Hastings family and the story of the beginning of Hastings Security.
