it all starts on ellie’s birthday, with what she least expected- getting fired. ellie has been having gruesome visions that somehow are turning into real murders. all her visions take place in a different location and with a new murder each time. why, out of all people, was this happening to her? she turns to theo, her best friend of 20 years and miles, her grumpy ex-boss who fired her, for help.

if you love criminal minds, you are going to devour this book up!
the whole triller aspect of this story was unbelievable! ellie’s vivid visions gets you hooked from the beginning. like imagine waking up one day from having a “dream” of a gruesome murder and it happens mere moments later🫣 every little clue you would get as the story progressed, made you constantly think as to what was going to happen next or if the vision was going to become true.
i’m a heavy romance reader, but every once in a while i love reading a thriller. throughout this, i was more focused on the whole thriller aspect than the love triangle that was going on. getting to see how all of Ellie’s visions connected later on was INSANE.
i was team miles since the beginning because theo got on my last nerve. he was jealous all the time for no reason and wanted so badly for their friendship to turned into something more. i swear he was always making a scene and olivia i didn’t like her at all. she acted like she was above everyone. other than them, i loved carly! she supported ellie no matter what and would always speak nothing but the truth.
elouise ATE IT UP with the ending! & THAT CLIFFHANGER🤯 i need to know what happens next because WHAT?
i will say it felt confusing at times because it was constantly switching between scenes which made it feel like there was some type of gap, making it hard to follow. there were points where i didn’t understand who was talking to who or where they were. other than that, i really enjoyed how fast paced it is and the thriller aspect which still has me thinking back to ellie’s visions and the cliffhanger!

Holy cow this book is a masterpiece. It’s amazing. I went through all of the emotions possible while reading this book. The writing is amazing Elouise’s writing is very descriptive and I have so many favourite quotes from this book. I was hooked from the very beginning this book has like everything I wanted, and more a lot of the thriller aspect of this book. I think it was low-key the best part as much as I love the romance, and the thriller was just top-notch and the way this book ended I need more. I need to know what happened right now. all that being said this book is amazing and I recommend anyone who is reading this to read this book. well the problem is that ellie has been having visions that end up presenting itself in real life. she dreams about murders in different places and she doesn’t understand why this is happening to her. so she talks about it with theodore, her best friend for the past 20 years, and miles who is her ex-boss and also the person that fired her on her birthday ! but nothing wrong and eerie can happen right?
if you know me, you know i’m a criminal minds girl through and through !!! so ofc i had to read this one by my friend !!!! this is the third time i read the story but the first time that i’m reviewing (i’m terrible at this) but i’ll say that i had such a fun time reading :,)
i would say that we actually have a little bit of a love triangle going on but let me rant pls i really don’t know how ellie got involved with theo because he sucks to me (i’m sorry theo fans !!!!!) and i can’t stand him. he would always piss me off (even when i hadn’t met miles properly) and their only excuse to still being friends is because they have known each other for two decades ! and fr i can’t believe they’re still friends by the end of the story
theo’s toxic and that’s it. he lied. he would push ellie 24/7 into making a huge move but she already knew what she wanted !!!! he tried to manipulate her into going to new york. he was jealous because she was talking to her ex-boss who turned out to be her friend. he said she “plays the victim”, excuse me????
BUT I LOVE MILES !!! I LOVE MAEVE !!!! they’re such a warm hug <3 all their scenes together made me so wkndkwxjjev and so glad ellie has them !!!!

I was extremely lucky to get an ARC of the book! I literally finished the last 60%-70% in one sitting because what did I just read?!!! As a romance reader, ever since the beginning of the book I was thinking who will be the fms’s endgame or who will she end up with. But after one point I was more invested in the mystery aspect of the book. The book became a real page turner once I read about Ellie’s weird dreams and later how it all got connected gave me goosebumps!
Theo pissed me off a lot, acting like an immature person all the time and being jealous and throwing fits all the time when dude won’t even take accountability for what he did wrong!!! Moreover I didn’t love Olivia’s character much either. But besides that the other side characters were quite great and supportive of Ellie (& shoutout to Carly for being her bestie and telling her that Theo is toxic!)
Also the ending + the cliffhanger??? INSANEEEEEEEEE!
The only reason I didn’t give the book 5 stars was because at times I felt like there was a bit connection gap. As in sometimes I was confused in between chapters as to who the characters were talking with or what the setting was. But overall this was a smashing debut novel by Elouise💖

as always, i want to start this post by thanking elouise for giving me the opportunity to read the arc to her debut novel! i was really happy to be able to read this one specially since it's been ages since i last read a thriller and the plot to this book had me hooked since i first read the blurb: an ex-detective (ellie) who's getting visions about a series of murders and who's only help to solve them and keep her sanity is her ex-boss (miles)?? sign me the f*** up!!
i was really excited to see where ellie's story went and its fast-pace made it a really easy read! i do have to admit that at first i thought both the characters and the plot would have more depth, and this made it a bit hard for me to connect with both aspects bcs i felt like something was missing for me... but i did enjoy the romance aspect of the book and seeing from ellie's pov how hard it was for her to choose between mmcs (all i have to say about those two is that miles and his little girl deserve the whole world!)
all in all 'between the silences', with its strengths and its flaws, was an enjoyable read and i think it's a good one to get yourself started in the world of thrillers if you're looking for a lighter read! i'll 100% be keeping an eye on elouise's next projects ♡

I think this book is actually tattooed on my soul.
I was hooked from the very first chapter, I read this in less than 24 hours.
If anyone wants to know, I am indeed BALLING my eyes out, SOBBING.
This book was so different from what I usually read (zero thriller/suspense bc I'm a chickenshit that scares easily) and also in terms of the romance part of it too. But it was such an awesome experience! I felt immersed in the story and the characters' lives from the beginning.
Ellie pissed me off at times, not gonna lie, but honestly at the end of the day she was just trying to survive and live her life the best and safest way she knew how. Such a strong woman, who deep down was just a scared and abandoned child, looking for stability.
Theo knew how to say the sweetest and also the most hurtful words at times, so I had a love/hate relationship with him throughout the whole book. I love him though. He was also just trying to hold on to things and make things work the way he knew how.
Oh Miles, my sweet, favorite Miles. (Elouise can attest that in the first like three chapters I was skeptical of him ~ how very dumb of me). He's the absolute best, doesn't have a mean bone in his body, the best girl dad there is. Els literal rock and safe space. He also went through so much in his life, but he still chose to put his heart on the line again for Ellie, because to him, she was always worth it.
This book is literally the best. I love you Elouise, thank you so much for sending me an ARC and giving me the absolute honor to read this book before it comes out.

this BOOK! omg this book is SO WELL WRITTEN. like i have no words. ellie's inner monologue was so realistic based on the circumstances and i adore her. onto the relationships, carly and ellie were i think my favs cause the friendship was so real and carly was so caring and 100% the protector friend. theo and ellie didn't feel right cause especially theo was kind of toxic for ellie and was acting different every time towards ellie like you didn't know which side of him you would get; angry impatient theo or caring vulnerable theo, so that was super confusing for ellie. but then miles came along and i could see they were it for eachother. they were so good and miles was so supportive towards ellie even when she shut him out. and the plot twists were something else. like when i thought everything was okay elouise proved me wrong. overall, such a good read i enjoyed it so muchh

It took me a hot minute to get through since I’m not a suspense/thriller lover, but the last ~10 chapters went by so quickly I don’t know where time went 😂.
I don’t think I’m going to get over that ending any time soon.
Overall I loved it, but I got very in my head when I wasn’t reading it - which is why I usually avoid any suspense/thriller books. Lol!!

this book was so precious, I loved all the spooky vibes it gave, the way the writing was extremely easy to read, and I was SEATEDDDD.
as someone who loves shows like fbi and csi, I was hooked. I mean a girl with scary visions, nothing could go wrong, right?

I recently had the opportunity to read an ARC of Between Silences, and overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The thriller aspect of the story, along with its captivating dream sequences, had me hooked from the beginning. The fast pacing kept me turning the pages, and I finished the book in just three days.
However, there were some aspects of the book that left me feeling conflicted. One major issue was the lack of depth in character development. I found it challenging to connect with the characters because we didn't get to know them well enough.
While I enjoyed the "who should I choose?" subplot, I felt that it was overly focused and didn't provide enough insight into the MC's romantic interests. As a result, I couldn't really connect, despite there being some cute moments between them.
In conclusion, Between Silences has its strengths, particularly in its thrilling premise and the fact thaty it's fast-paced. However, it could benefit from improvements in terms of scene transitions, character development, and the exploration of romantic relationships. Despite its flaws, I still appreciate the opportunity to read an ARC of the book and look forward to seeing how Elouise continues to develop her craft.

OMG THIS BOOK!! Firstly, thank you so soo much Elouise for the ARC! I am obsessed with this! Elouise what did you do to me😩 It's my first suspense thriller romance, and I am surprised with how much I loved this❤️ It was so different from what I usually read because I get easily scared with suspense😅 And honestly, the details of Ellie's vision was scary...but in a good way, cause it really made me want to continue reading. I was hooked from the very start. I actually would've finished this way sooner if I wasn't so busy with college. This was such an awesome experience. It felt like I was watching a movie. I felt immersed in the story.
I feel so sorry for everything Ellie have been through in this. She deserves to be happy!! Elouise you hear me? My girl deserves a happily ever after! That ending was just cruel😭 Anyways, in terms of the romantic aspect, Ellie kind of annoyed me with some of her decisions honestly🤦♀️ I know that she cares about Theo and wants to fix their relationship, but she didn't have to push Miles away. They both agreed to be "bestfriends" again, so Theo doesn't have the right to make her stop seeing Miles! I just think she could've fixed being friends with Theo again, while still being with Miles. Well atleast she realized that at the end tho. Anyways, you can't really blame her cause at the end of the day she's going through a lot and just wants to live her life the best way she knows how.

Everyone may think that he's a cold grumpy guy, but really he's actually the sweetest ever!!😩 The fact that he believes Ellie and supports her no matter what. He was always there for her, and never ever let her believe that she's crazy. He also went through so much, but was able to put his heart on the line again because of Ellie💕 I NEED a Miles Brady in my life plss🙏
Can we also just appreciate Carly and Lucas please. I needed more of them. I'd honestly read a short story about them just being cute! They're my second favorite couple here.

OMG THIS BOOK!! Firstly, thank you so soo much Elouise for the ARC! I am obsessed with this! Elouise what did you do to me😩 It's my first suspense thriller romance, and I am surprised with how much I loved this❤️ It was so different from what I usually read because I get easily scared with suspense😅 And honestly, the details of Ellie's vision was scary...but in a good way, cause it really made me want to continue reading. I was hooked from the very start. I actually would've finished this way sooner if I wasn't so busy with college. This was such an awesome experience. It felt like I was watching a movie. I felt immersed in the story.

If you looks for Romance with thriller and suspense, you find no further, Between Silence not only has all those factor but also successfully ticking all the box with an S+, top tier plot with many plot twist confused you and make you keep reading to find all the answers to your question.
All I have to say that Elouise, you are so talented at such young age, I mean the way you plot, your writing, you playing both with my emotions and my head. I still can’t believe this is your debut work and now you officially in my auto buy author Queen.
You are not only building a whole amazing plot line but also creating so many amazing characters cast. I just feel relate with Ellie so much and gosh I think I just find new husband material, My Miles. This world own me one Miles. And Theo, I don’t know your purpose writing Theo is to frustrate us so much or not but if that is your goal then you have successfully make me despise him. Ugg, I hate him so much. Your character cast bring me to every emotion: relatable, dreamy, despiteful, Surprise, Amazed.

I could not put this book down right from the start!! The way Eloise writes is captivating, it feels as though you are right there with the characters, especially during the visions, they’re written so well!!
I love the concept of having a mix of thriller/horror and romance, I’m my opinion it made it so fun to read, trying to figure out who’s she’s going to end up with, along with solving the mystery that is unfolding throughout the book!
I fell in love with all the characters in their own way (got to say though Carly is my absolute favourite besides Miles)
Theo was so well written, he was so easy to like and hate at times (so I get the conflict that Ellie was feeling)
The way Ellie was written you could feel her every emotion and what she was going through which made you like her but seeing other povs from characters I was mad at her for some decisions lol
And Miles was an absolute sweetheart, I’m a sucker for hard shell teddy bear guys in books! How supportive and open he was with Ellie was so nice to read!!

This was such a fun read!
How could one book be so mind-boggling, twisted, heart-breaking, and also filled with light-hearted romance, love, and compassion?
Something's certain characters did or said—thou shalt not be named—really had me on edge. I felt like I was Ellie's imaginary, protective sister who just wanted to jump through the pages to warn her not to do something before it backfired!
I'm usually that person that reads thrillers and predicts the ending almost immediately and if it happened like I had planned, I get so disappointed. BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. I was shocked, utterly and completely shocked that I did not see that ending coming. I was *throw my book across the room* *reread the ending over and over hoping that what I just read didn't actually happen* *laugh at the absurdity that this ending just completely shattered my soul* kind of shocked. Regardless of my new-found trauma, this story is great, and I'm really happy I got to read Ellie's story!

This was the first book that was a detective romance and I went in SO blind did not look up books that had the same vibe and thank god I did not because Elouise and her writing blew me away. Elouise knows exactly how I was feeling because l've probably sent her a billion messages screaming at her for what was written.Miles, Theo and Ellie were something else and if you want a book that's gonna drive you insane and leave you speechless this is 100% the one for you. There were so many times in this book I felt myself relating to character and relating a specific *cough cough* character to ex friends.Between silence comes out April 22nd and if you have the time it's definitely worth your while and attention!!!

I loved how was written, cause once you start reading it you can't put it down, everything captures you, from accurate descriptions of visions, super cute scenes with the love interests to interior monologues of the protagonist, which I found very relatable. Talking about the protagonist, I became attached to her right away and I immediately felt the need to protect her and to hug her for all the terrible things she was going through. Other characters that I really liked are the therapist and her dialogues with the main character, the best friend, Carly, I loved her personality and the fact that she spoke Spanish, and Maeve, she was so cute, I loved her and her interactions with Ellie so much, definitely one of my favorite character.
Now let's talk about the boysss!! (It's a love triangle)
Sooo... at first I liked Theo, but the more I read about Miles the more I liked him, he was very sweet and I loved that his love language was words of affirmation.
I liked everything about Miles, his relationship with Maeve and his way of dealing with Ellie, at the beginning he was a little grumpy but then he became sweet and romantic.
This book is full of suspence scenes that give you goosebumps and a cliffhanger that leaves you speechless!! 👀👀

first, I want to say the biggest thank you to el for allowing me to beta and arc read between silences. I am so proud of you and everything you’ve achieved so far.
between silences was a high-tension, suspenseful thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. I love mysteries, and this was such a good jump back into one of my favorite genres. elouise does an amazing job of portraying emotions as she writes, leaving me wanting to read more after every chapter.
ellie, my girl. everything she goes through broke my heart and seeing the way she was able to keep working and jump up from every setback was so amazing to read. she’s vulnerable, but she’s a woman who knows what she needs to do to thrive even if she’s having some…interesting visions.
theo!!! el knows this much but shockingly enough I am theo’s number one fan. (my literal man yall!!) he cares for ellie so much and everything he does is for her. he just wants to see her happy. miles on the other hand, was a different kind of sweet. him and his little girl were such a sweethearts, and watching them interact with Ellie was the cutest thing.
the romance aspect of this story was so fun, but the main mystery had me attentive as hell!! my mind was reeling trying to uncover all the clues and discover what was happening behind the scenes. the plot twist had me shocked, and the ending literally had me crying.
overall, between silences was such and amazing debut and I can’t wait to see what comes next from el!
