My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

5 I'm Addin' A Rule Stars

Blood Stained is the third book in The Legend of Andrew Rufus by M. M. Crumley.

I didn't realize until this book what missing, besides concrete answers to add structure to the foundation of this story. The cowboy of it all. Andrew finally learning to live the life of a cowboy, to enjoy all that means was a more important aspect to this story than I would've guessed. It is funny though, his fascination with moccasins over boots. And all of his rules.

I sort of expected more from Meli in this book. I'm glad to finally know the name and character of Aylen the White Shaman. But this book felt a little lite in the danger aspect of his new reality. I wonder when Pecos or Andrew will face her in person? How many more agents of death will she send to try to end either of them?

Also, what the frack was up with that Duke character? Is it possible Meli had some influence over him? I hope nothing happens to Widow Maker without Andrew there to clear up why he attacked Duke... I'm concerned for Mrs. Rufus since she didn't take too well to learning about Andrew's abilities. Hopefully Aylen will be able to bring her around, and his mother won't spiral.

Other than that I worry for Doyle and the obvious trauma he carries. He must lioe the dreams he has, the people they help him to remember, even if they also make him hurt? I think he used to have children and that's why Andrew gets under his skin so easily, or maybe a younger sibling? I hope Aylen and Pecos can find happiness with each other. And I can't wait to discover Andrew's love interest and how they finally meet. Finally, I'm concerned for Joe... I don't remember Doc ever mentioning him... I'm worried he will die soon...

Obviously this book doesn't release until Jan 2020 (in case you missed the review on book 2, I'm the author, so I've clearly read it, many times). Blood Stained is one of my favorites, and here's why. In this book, at some point, Andrew finally gets to be there in his own body! Isn't that exciting! Part of the reason I love this one so much is because they're just living. Sure trouble finds them, it always does, but meanwhile, it's just life and Andrew learning to survive, learning to become a man.

Finally made it to the start of Andrew's legend

Andrew is finally physically in the wild West and this story is exactly what i had been waiting for in the series. Modern teenage angst is still present as Andrew begins to really learn to believe in himself. Pecos Bill, Widow Maker, cowboys, shamans and more just add to this new legend. Overall a great third story.

Good series

I started reading the series due to the author's Holliday series constantly mentioning it. Didn't appreciate it being tied so close together, forcing me into another series. I struggled to get into the story, though I enjoyed parts of it. It took awhile but I have started to actually enjoy it as the story has fleshed out.

Nice YA story

Nice story line...just don't like hearing Andrew saying how bad he is at everything in each book! Always down on himself.. But I am enjoying this take on an old west "legend"

Andrew rejoins Pecos at his Ranch, now after a revelation Andrew is in his own body, being taught how to be a cowboy. Add Skinwalkers, and monster, and it adds up to an action packed adventure.

I don't want it to end!

I know, there's still more books, but at the rate I read, they'll be over before I'm even close to emotionally ready. The characters are colorful and well-developed, the storyline never disappoints, and I'm obsessed!
