As M.M. Crumley I write Urban Fantasy books full of supernatural action, nail-biting-mystery and; laugh-out-loud humor. Why? Because stories, myths, and legends have always been a huge part of my life... As a child, I liked nothing better than to lose myself in a world where magic and heroes were part of the fabric of existence.

As my pen name M.M. Boulder I write psychological thrillers and murder mysteries that bring the darker impulses we may not feel completely comfortable with into the light. My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the entire series so far and was looking forward to this book but regrettably I was unable to enjoy this one. The first two thirds was just too much going back over past times, too much related dialogue and too disjointed, the story just seemed to be padded out and therefore, for me, lost momentum. The last third did pick up but sadly on this occasion I feel I wasted my money. I accept that an author, especially continuing an established series, must sometimes hit a dry spot so I will still look forward to Book 12, Requiem.

Two story plots wrapped between flashbacks and stories from last 10 books. Some of which was okay while most of it read like soggy fill-ins to pad the book. The first plot where Doc trades himself to save Tucker was interesting while the second one felt like jaded Doc Holliday and Jury formulaic action as they reminiscence through stories from previous battles. Their bickering bromance humor was still funny and kept the plot engaged.

Two and half stars because I had to skip through about 1/3 of the book

Another great Doc story

I can't get enough of Doc and his friends who stick by him through thick and thin. A lot of reminiscing from Doc in this story. At times I felt quite sad with him that's the power of a brilliant writer for you. The friendship with Jervis and Jury makes this a great read. I'd love to give 10 stars for all the books in the series! It's official. I'm a Docoholic :)

I love this take on Doc Holiday, his charm, wit, and soul-sucking tattoo.

This story mostly sets up how Doc got his tattoo which saved his life, but it also came with a promise to save a Shaman's great, great, great-granddaughter. Which he does do, in a sense...

Filled with great characters, I love the exchange between Doc and Jury, not to mention Bennie the worm, and his service, with Thad, Doc's talking plant.

All in all a great book, can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Doc's newest battle

One of the best anti heroes and his family of friends is back in action. This story is a wonderful blend of snippets from Doc's past and his current battle against what could be his first personal nemesis. One again, a book I had to read without breaks.

The most serious story in the series so far. There are still some good laughs, but in this one, Doc ponders what it means to lose the people you love. So expect some tears along with the laughs and adventures. Can't wait for the next!

Doc's adventures and go on until the end of time as far as I'm concerned. I always wish each book was longer and always find myself torn, since I'm disappointed it's over but can't wait for the next one, all excited as it gets closer!

The Doc Holliday series keeps giving with its changes and twisty bits alongside the familiar and comfortable. If you like contemporary fantasy then i think you'll love MM Crumley's creations.
