One word... Gac.

Returning to normal after spending fifty years as a fae is too much for anyone to process, maybe even too much for Doc Holliday. As Doc struggles to readjust to a normal existence, the last thing he needs is a fight for all he holds dear, but when Eli Gac reemerges more dangerous than ever, that’s exactly what Doc gets. Some people just can’t let go of the past; and if Gac gets what he’s after, he may not have to. In a race against time, will the return of George Armstrong Custer signal the end of Doc Holliday forever?

Hi, I'm M.M. Crumley Your Author Extraordinaire (Also Known as M.M. Boulder)

As M.M. Crumley I write Urban Fantasy books full of supernatural action, nail-biting-mystery and; laugh-out-loud humor. Why? Because stories, myths, and legends have always been a huge part of my life... As a child, I liked nothing better than to lose myself in a world where magic and heroes were part of the fabric of existence.

As my pen name M.M. Boulder I write psychological thrillers and murder mysteries that bring the darker impulses we may not feel completely comfortable with into the light. My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

I have several series to help you scratch your itch for adventure:
THE HOUSE OF GRAVES Series
THE IMMORTAL DOC HOLLIDAY Series
THE LEGEND OF ANDREW RUFUS Series
JANEY FALKE: SAINT KILLER Series (Coming Soon)
Five Deliciously Dark Psychological Thriller Novels

I have enjoyed every book in this series. I find it comforting that Doc can easily call upon friends, both past and present, to help him when needed. It could be fun if we all had our own "throne room" and dreamscape to work out our issues.

Fantastic

As always, our intrepid author delivers. This is about Doc, as always, and as always, there are lessons, if you choose to see them.
However, this one is also different. There are several thought-provoking ideas and concepts that should definitely be discussed in front of a fire, with whiskey and eggnog. Time as an ocean, how important balance is, and grief.
This isn't to say it's not typical Doc. He fights, he loves, he meets old friends and new, he ponders. He is a quintessential archetype of a gambler, southern gentleman, lover, and protector all rolled into a single person.I can not truly express how much I love Doc and his views on things.
This is immediately after the last book( sorta, time is funny 😁), and Doc is back to being normal ol Doc, not that he's really normal. Now, he has to deal with Eli Gac and all the trouble he has caused and will cause. Plus, deal with Jury and Jervis and their feelings at being left behind sometimes.
Will he triumph? Will he succumb? That, fellow reader, is for you to find out.
Highly recommended, just like the series and the Andrew Rufus series. You can not go wrong with these books.

Link to tessa series here start of.

Finally I read the Tessa series first, then this one and soon realised this series is before the Tessa graves and Andrew series is first (yet to read) so while I read this series I was waiting for links Tessa was only in this once (when I noticed past time her father is alive in this one) so I have been waiting for Doc to visit Tessa in the Times of that series, this book near the end Doc gets the call from Ollie about Tessa father (the grave yard seen makes more sense to me now, in Tessa series, that's how that series starts) with
I do like the Tessa series more, Doc is just to much Casanova, I understand why but still, he does have a kind heart which just makes you like him, I'm glad the drinking and sex has calmed down a little, it was getting old. I do love his male friendships he makes some funny banter.

Finale of the Gac trilogy. Has a decent payoff with a lot of the Crumley-Verse characters showing up to help. At this point, the novels are padded about 25% with needless banter.

I think you could combine the last three books into a single book by just reducing the banter. Maybe that's the part that the author finds the most enjoyable, but typically in a long series like this, the characters move beyond four pages of banter before action, and leave a lot implied. The readers will get it.

Still looking forward to the next book in November '24

I'm a Docoholic!

Yet another amazing story from a favourite author. Doc finally has closure, and GAC gets what is coming to him. Absolutely love Doc, Jury, and Jervis. What a team they make.

Somehow the series keeps improving

Some surprising guest appearances take this story from threat to a whole lot of fun. Doc is mostly still Doc and Lady Luck is still his partner in trouble solving. GAC/Custer and Doc have a great showdown.

Wonderful series

Normally by the third or fourth book in a series, it seems the author is done with what they want to say with those characters. But in this series, it seems each story improves on the story line.

I really don’t want this series to end!

I believe there is another book to come in November, so I’ll just have to wait, but I really don’t want to! I’ve absolutely loved each book and just want to keep reading about Dic’s adventures.

Enjoyable

A good read. But I felt that the characters lost their depth and personalities in this book in comparison to the other books in the series. Hopefully the next book in the series will rectify this. Would still recommend to family and friends.

just too short

The only thing I hate about this series is that it’s too damn short! There’s literally nothing else to dislike. Read them all. You’ll love it.
