She’s a wealthy debutante with the finest ancestry in Kentucky horseracing circles…
He’s a member of New York’s Gilded Age elite, yet on the brink of financial ruin…
Neither of them want an arranged marriage…or do they?
Veronica Lyndon has a plan for her life, and it doesn't include being married off to a perfect stranger. After all, she is descended from generations of Kentucky horseracing royalty. She has no need for a marriage arranged solely to secure her place among the elite of Manhattan's Gilded Age society. But that's exactly what her parents expect of her. Determined to defy the arrangement, Veronica formulates a plan to drive her intended away. But when Edward arrives in anticipation of the match, she doesn’t expect to find him so attractive, nor can she deny the feelings he stirs in her heart, complicating her plans. Has true love galloped into her life by conventional means, or are her estimations mistaken?
Edward Beckett realizes the futility of avoiding the arranged marriage to Miss Lyndon. His family is already on the brink of financial ruin and Veronica's dowry may be their best opportunity to recover. But he didn't expect to fall for the Kentucky debutante so easily. He finds himself attracted to her natural beauty and vivacious spirit, free from the conventions of other ladies in his customary circles. In fact, he’s downright smitten after meeting Veronica. Unfortunately, Edward’s sisters don’t feel the same, and if their attempts to sabotage the relationship are successful, his whirlwind courtship to Veronica may be over before it's really begun.
Saddle up for a clean romp filled with sweet romance, inspiration, and plenty of adventure along this course of obstacles and a glide through the splendor and opulence of the Gilded Age.

Ever picture two stubborn thoroughbreds digging in their heels at the starting gate? That’s exactly how I saw Veronica and Edward as their arranged marriage loomed in An Arrangement with an Heiress by Lisa M. Prysock. Set against the sweeping backdrop of Kentucky horse country, the story races through the Gilded Age with just as much grit and grace as the finest horses bred on Veronica's family farm. And while horse racing may have some unexpected winners, the romance between these two is anything but predictable.
Veronica Lyndon, a debutante with horse racing royalty in her veins, isn’t interested in settling down—especially not with a New York elite like Edward Beckett. You can almost hear the horses snickering at the idea of this girl giving up her beloved Velvet Brooks Farm for the uptight glitz of Manhattan society. I laughed out loud when she executed her plan to send Edward packing. After all, why marry a stranger when you’re waiting for God to bring the right one, at His perfect timing? Veronica even had a backup plan of marrying someone who shared her passion for horses. No city slicker could possibly keep up with her Kentucky pace, right?
But when Edward shows up, things start shifting faster than a horse coming out of the gate. He’s supposed to be her ticket out of a forced union, but instead, he’s charming, sincere, and genuine. His respect for Veronica’s father, who sees "all things as coming from the hand of the living God," shows a depth that Veronica can’t easily ignore. It’s as if God Himself was whispering, “Are you sure you’ve got this all figured out, Veronica?”
Throughout the book, the weight of faith laces each chapter, much like the reins guiding a horse. There’s beautiful moment when Veronica considers laying her shame and guilt "at the foot of the cross." That kind of raw honesty about life’s rejections hit me hard. Don’t we all have moments where we want to protect our hearts, yet God asks us to let go and trust Him with the outcome? It reminded me of Romans 8:28 because even in times of rejection or pain, God works everything out for our good when we fully surrender to Him and trust Him.
And then there’s Edward—oh Edward. While he might be caught up in the family drama of financial ruin, he’s not the pampered, arrogant type you’d expect. His Gilded Age life may be in New York, but his heart quickly finds a home in Kentucky, and not just because of the farm’s stunning landscape. It’s Veronica’s spirit that captivates him, a wild, free force that refuses to be tamed by societal expectations. At one point, he reflects that falling for her wasn’t part of his plan. Well, Edward, I think God’s been known to upend a few human plans now and again!
As the two navigate their families’ meddling, it was entertaining as I cheered the couple on. Their feisty back-and-forth reminded me of horse racing—unpredictable, full of energy, and thrilling right up to the finish line. And don’t even get me started on Edward’s sisters! If you’ve ever had to deal with a couple of high-society “mean girls,” you’ll know exactly what I mean. You’ll want to saddle up and defend Edward as he fights to keep his dignity and his growing feelings for Veronica intact and what example Veronica is as she lives out God’s commands! This author beautifully illustrates all of this in a realistic way.
This romance isn’t just about love—it’s about letting go, trusting God’s timing, and learning to lean on faith when life’s obstacles seem too big to handle. Veronica and Edward’s journey may start with an arrangement, but it’s God’s hand that truly steers their course. As 1 John 4:20 teaches us, love and faith are inseparable. And in this book, they are beautifully intertwined in a story that’ll have you applauding at the finish line.
Whether you’re here for the Kentucky bluegrass, the opulence of the Gilded Age, or the reminder that God's timing is perfect—even when our plans are not—An Arrangement with an Heiress is an absolute winner. Saddle up, because this one’s a ride you won’t want to miss!
I received a digital ARC of An Arrangement with the Heiress from Celebrate Lit Publicity Tour. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Veronica and Edward are children of former college friends. The dads made the plans and told the kids it was a done deal. Neither Veronica and Edward wanted to get marry, but team up to believably tell their dads that they don't click.
I loved the stories. The characters were all well done, though not all are good. :(
This is another don't-miss-it, sweet romance by Lisa Prysock.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
An Arrangement with the Heiress by Lisa M. Prysock is a Christian Historical Romance set in New York’s Gilded Age. Veronica Lyndon loves her family’s horse farm in Kentucky and plans never to marry and stay there. Unfortunately, her parents have other ideas. Meanwhile, Edward Beckett, part of New York’s elite society, is forced to accept an arranged marriage with Veronica.
The author does an excellent job building the storyline and creating memorable characters. I loved getting to know Veronica and her family, Edward, his father, and his brother. However, she also did an excellent job building the perfect characters to attempt to foil their budding relationship. With horses, beautiful farmland, exciting shopping, and more, this book kept me reading.
I found myself unable to put this book down. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
So, if you are looking for a Christian Historical Romance, check out An Arrangement with the Heiress by Lisa M. Prysock.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
I will admit I’m a sucker for Gilded Age stories. They’re more comfortable than Regency books or American western stories, and yet, when you think about it, they are still over 100 years ago. Maybe because of my age, that is startling to realize, they just seem more recent. I really loved Veronica and her independent spirit, even though I can’t really agree with wanting to just stay at home and not see the rest of the world. Thankfully Edward is more flexible and patient. This book has the expected romance, humor especially when dealing with the more senior ladies, misguided sisters, autocratic fathers, and a few twists and surprises. I look forward to the rest of this series. I’m sure there will be a surprise or two in store.
An Arrangement with the Heiress, the first book in the Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age series, is another delightful story from Lisa Prysock and my favorite of her stories so far! It kept me engaged from the beginning to the satisfying ending. Beautifully sketched settings, whether in the Kentucky horse country or in New York high society, bring the story to life and immerse you in the era! A wonderfully crafted, diverse cast of characters drive the story. Some I loved, especially Veronica, Edward, and Aunt Mae, and some I did not care for at all, namely the “mean girl” sisters and Edward’s mother. The fast-paced plot flows smoothly mixing laugh-out-loud moments with serious ones. I appreciate the gentle faith thread woven throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! If you are looking for a light yet touching story, try this one! I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A good romance story. Good description of the era. An easy read and great characters. Those who enjoy Gilded age stories will love this book. I received a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
This was such an adorably sweet read! I loved the characters and their opposition to one another. It was nice how everything came together in the end with a nice message to take away...
“An Arrangement with the Heiress” isn’t my usual type of story because I’m not really into the arranged marriage trope. But…and that’s a big but, this one surprised me!
Veronica reminds me a bit of someone I know so it was easy to connect with her and walk in her shoes somewhat. Like my friend, she was hurt previously and swore off marriage forever, until… The until is what makes this story so intriguing.
I enjoy the lighthearted witty moments as well as the deeper elements of love and faith. Aunt Mae, Edward, and Veronica are enjoyable characters who are easy to love, and there are some others that are just as easy to dislike! (Which always makes a story more interesting, in my opinion.) With a strong message and a wonderful ending, this is an enjoyable read.

I loved the twists and turns to the first book in the Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age series. This is definitely not your typical arranged marriage story as neither party is accepting of the situation. I laughed so hard with the antics Veronica tries to dissuade Edward from liking her. I was engaged from the beginning to the end with the lyrical and descriptive dialogue that had me visualizing the beauty of the horses and bluegrass of Kentucky. Veronica is a strong, determined young woman who wants to remain single at Velvet Brooks Farm because of unresolved hurt from a previous romance. Can she find a way to open her heart to love or will she jeopardize her marriage prospect? You must read to find out and you can enjoy the adventures, the mayhem, and find your heart galloping to find the outcome. A truly enjoyable read that you will be glad you delved into. Trot along now and put a copy on your TBR pile. I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
Fabulously written book that will captivate you and you’ll not want to return to modern day life. All the ups and downs of first being fixed up by parents, but then do they actually like one another? Then does family try to kept them apart after family tried to put them together? So much activity among the romance drama will keep your attention and your interest as to what’s going to happen next. This is a Christian book and in so has Christian values engraved throughout which just makes the characters that much more stable and connected within themselves of who they are. Beautifully written story.
The first thing that drew me to enjoy the story of Veronica and Edward was her love of horses. Their story starts in Lexington, Kentucky where, quite by fate, the two are drawn to each other because of shared interests and the passion they each find in art and music. The story leads them to New York. Veronica stays with her Aunt, while Edward stays with his family. You'll find yourself getting angry at times, vindicated at others, and happy with the outcome in the end. I hope you enjoy all the twists and turns in this romantic relationship.
Lisa Prysock builds a story world that is realistic and entertaining. Reading her books is like visiting special friends and neighbors! Lisa's research and craft are visible in the historical details shown in her works. I eagerly await each new story! Come read with me!
What a beautiful setting for this first book in a new series! I enjoy the arranged marriage trope and this story was a fresh take on it as Veronica Lyndon and Edward Beckett were set up by their wealthy parents for an arranged marriage. After a surprising and rather unexpected first visit together, the two devise a plan that they hope will placate their parents. While somewhat predictable, I loved reading how their initial plans changed over the course of the story and how both Veronica and Edward experienced moments of personal revelation. While Edward’s uppity family provided lots of angst and tense moments, witty quips sprinkled throughout added dashes of humor. I loved the mentions of prayer that provided inspiration. A wonderful read! Looking forward to the next one.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher. A positive review was not required and these are my honest opinions.
You will be launched into the story with a dramatic beginning. I felt terrible for both Edward and Veronica, caught in the plans of their families that wouldn’t listen to them, who wouldn’t consider their thoughts or feelings. Veronica’s family really was just trying to push her in the right direction; I could forgive them. But Edward’s family….they were such a pill! I wanted to jump into the plot and set them straight so many times. I was rooting for Veronica as she learned to trust Edward despite everything thrown at them; I cheered as Edward stood up for his dream and for his love for Veronica. They get a very endearing HEA.
This was a new author to me but her writing style is easy to read and very engaging. Her knowledge of the horse racing world shown through and didn’t drag the story down. I enjoyed the story. I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
I absolutely adored the characters, especially Veronica and Aunt Mae. Witty and funny, these two had me laughing so hard. This story was excellent from the beginning to the end. I found the romance to be sweet and not rushed, thoroughly enjoying the courtship. Edward’s mother and sisters, who are very dislikable, brought turmoil that keeps the reader cringing every time they show up. This is where my fondness for Aunt Mae showed up, she is a feisty one who I’d want on my side. You will definitely be entertained throughout the whole story. I found this book to be my favorite of Lisa’s book, although it seems with each new book she releases I find myself saying that! #topofthenotchauthor #5starbook #youwillloveit Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This has been a fun story to read. During this time period arranged marriages seemed to be popular. Poor Veronica finds herself in the midst of an agreement to marry because her father wants it done. Now there are several reasons that Veronica is not happy about this situation. She wants to stay at the farm, help her parents out and race horses. She loves riding and spending time with her favorite horse. There is the fact that she only wants to marry for love and she does not want her heart broken.
Edward has been told by his father that he is to marry Veronica. The family is having financial difficulties and with this arrangement it will help Edward’s family out. He has no desire to marry Veronica but can he stand up to his father and stop the marriage from happening?
I loved the first meal they had as the two families join together to get acquainted. Veronica’s shenanigans at the table made me laugh so hard. Her table manners would hopefully scare off Edward but will he see through her tricks? I liked how the author developed their story at a nice pace. When the two agree to try to make their parents think they are getting along, will it bring feelings for each other stronger?
Edward does struggle with his faith at times but he sees how open Veronica and her family are about God. It impresses him to see how God is first in their lives. As they begin to spend more time together he starts to feel a pull on his heart to seek God and build a real relationship with Him,
The author gives readers good information about horses that show us her knowledge about these beautiful animals. I have rode a few times but they intimidate me. They are powerful, strong and very intelligent creatures who do give others a sense of enjoyment when they are around them. Veronica impresses me with her ability to feel free while on her favorite horse. Can Edward embrace her love for horses as well?
Don’t miss this story where faith will show two people that God’s plans are better than out plans. Will Edward and Veronica marry? If so, will it be for love or convenience?
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate. Lit. The review is my own opinion.
What I think you should know: An Arrangement with the Heiress by Lisa M Prysock is an Christian Historical Fiction. It is the first book in the Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age Series. The book is set in 1901 Lexington, Kentucky and features Veronica Lyndon, daughter of Racing Royalty and Edward Beckett, New York Society Elite.
What I think about this book: When Veronica and Edward were told their parents had arranged a marriage between the families both were resistant for their own reasons. It was very interesting to see Veronica change from a petulant young woman who wanted to avoid marriage at all cost to a woman seeking God’s will. I was particularly touched when Edward said “The higher the dowry, the more esteemed and valuable the woman, It signals the man in pursuit of her that she is beloved, highly sought after, to be protected…” While dowries are no longer normal practice and a dowry was not truly an indication of value. I love the thought that God gave us a dowry though Jesus and how we should all remember our Value in Him! It was interesting to see Edward evolve into a man that could stand on his own. This was a wonderful story. I appreciate how the author developed the characters and the scenery. I could imagine learning to drive in the Runabout and all of the interesting things the author described. I look forward to reading more in the series and by the author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
An Arrangement with the Heiress by author Lisa M. Prysock is a Christian Historical Romance. It is Book One in the Kentucky’s Debutantes of the Gilded Age Series. I fell in love with the lovely cover and was eager to read the story.
Kentucky’s horse country is absolutely beautiful. The author did a wonderful job taking readers back in time and to Kentucky bluegrass. The conversations sounded authentic and added depth to the delightful marriage of convenience story.
This is the tale of Veronica Lyndon, a debutante with horse racing royalty in her veins. She loves being at home on the farm and wants to help her family. A marriage of convenience has never entered her thoughts. Edward Beckett is a New Yorker who is not excited about marrying her either. This marriage is the mastermind of the couple’s fathers.
I enjoyed the author’s style of writing. She sprinkled faith throughout the book. This is important if you are writing a Christian fiction. The pace was nice and even, giving readers a chance to absorb everything. I found it easy to be invested in the lives of the characters and difficult to put the book down. There is so much to love. The humor made me giggle out loud! The twists kept me on my toes. The spiritual lessons warmed my soul. I even gleaned some knowledge about horses.
This book gets a high recommendation from me. It was delightful. A reading group would have a fun meeting discussing this story and messages. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit, but these are my honest words.
I truly enjoy Christian Historical Romance Books and I also like reading books that are part of a series. An Arrangement with the Heiress by Lisa M. Prysock is Book 1 in the Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age series. I am excited about this new series as I have enjoyed other books by Lisa M. Prysock.
I started reading this book and could not stop until I was done. I have always enjoyed books that have the theme of arranged marriages. The Era of the book, the early 1900s, is also a favorite of mine. Veronica and Edward are the 2 main characters of the book. Their Dad's were college friends and have wanted Veronica and Edward to marry and have now made it clear that they will be getting married soon. Veronica, having been raised in the Kentucky Horseracing Circle, doesn't want an arranged marriage, she has other plans for her life. Edward also doesn't want an arranged marriage, but he is willing to help his family before they financially sink. I really LOVE how when Veronica and Edward finally meet and begin to see the beauty in one another and have a change of heart regarding each other. Edwards sisters try their best to make sure a wedding doesn't happen, but Veronica and Edward are beginning to look forward to a wedding. I also really LOVE that the book is faith based. I think the message of this book is "God's plan is Greater then our own". I HIGHLY recommend this book to fans of Christian Historical Romance. FANTASTIC BOOK!
In 1901 Kentucky, heiress Veronica Lyndon is about to have her world tossed upside down. Her parents have arranged a marriage for her to an almost complete stranger. Veronica has vowed never to marry after her heartbreak from her beau. However, her parents are not taking no for an answer, as they want her to be well cared for and settled. Whan can Veronica do to discourage and eliminate this union?
Edward Beckett has just been informed by his father, that to save their family, he must marry an heiress and use her dowry to save the family. Edward is shocked at what his father has done to their business, and he is intent on investigating what happened.
Neither are interested in the marriage. Then they meet, and after some humorous sabotage attempts, they become friends despite all of that. Edward falls first, and Veronica can finally see a future where she will be happy. I found this story amusing and fulfilling, especially in their friendship. But their troubles are not over as others are trying to keep them apart. The biggest challenge they may have to face though, is still to break away from their parents plans anyway, only this time together. This was a nice romantic jaunt at the turn of the century.
I was provided a copy of this novel through the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.
The Gilded Age isn't really my favorite time period to read but I enjoyed these characters the way the author wrote them. At first, I didn't really like Veronica because of her self-centeredness, but she had been hurt in the past and because of that, didn't want to ever marry. She was young and felt that staying with her parents at her beloved horse farm would always make her safe. I could totally see her point of view! However, life isn't like that! We have to do hard things and grow, even when we don't like it! Her parents had chosen a man for her to marry, and she made up a plan to scare him away. Imagine her surprise when she met the man, and he wasn't as bad as she feared! He was actually likable and handsome! Edward wasn't thrilled about the arrangement either when his father told him. However, as he got to know Veronica, they had more in common than he thought! His family, especially his sisters, were atrocious but thankfully, he saw right through them! I liked that Veronica shared things with him and I really liked the ending. I also liked the focus on faith and turning to God with their struggles.
An Arrangement with the Heiress is a sweet historical fiction novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and highly recommend. If you love a good romance with history thrown in this is it!
This is a fun arranged marriage novel. It’s an arranged marriage for Veronica and Edward. Veronica doesn’t want an arranged marriage nor does she need it. But she can’t deny that she finds Edward a bit attractive and interesting. Edward falls for her.
So what’s the problem? Edward’s sisters are not in love with Veronica. And they set out to ruin the match! Let the fun and games begin.
I really enjoyed these characters and getting to know them. If you want a good light-hearted novel that will make you sigh in satisfaction and also laugh this is the best book for you.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.
An adventure filled rom-com, set in the Gilded Age, with a fun plot, and endearing characters.
Veronica Lyndon has been happy to live her life, riding the horses on her father's race horse farm, and is in no hurry to look for a husband. But when her father takes matters into his own hands, arranging a match with the son of ones of his friends, the aftermath is surprising.
An enjoyable read, with great characters, and a fun plot. I liked the interaction between the characters, relationship building, and friendship. There is a lot going on, and I liked the setting from Kentucky Countryside, to New York high society. Edward and Veronica concoct a plan to outwit their parents, and I loved the situational comedy, as well as wit.
Overall, a wonderful read, great plot, characters, in this well written historical romance, with a foundation of Christian values and faith. Thoroughly enjoyable, highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Lisa M. Prysock writes a fun twist to an arranged marriage trope.
When Veronica’s and Edward’s parents arrange for them to get married, neither one is happy about it. I love the way the author presented a fresh story that kept me guessing. It’s not your typical arranged marriage.
I loved Veronica’s independent spirit. Her character arc was wonderful and kept me rooting for her to find true love over a forced marriage. Edward is truly a kind, amazing man from a family full of self-centered individuals. I loved the way the author wove Edward’s faith into the story.
The author delighted me with a few funny scenes too. She thought up some great ways to thrust Veronica and Edward together.
Fans of clean or Christian romance will enjoy this sweet faith-filled historical romance.
Romance: Squeaky clean. Faith: Both characters grew personally and spiritually.
I received an advanced copy of this book courtesy of the publisher through Celebrate Lit Tours. All opinions are my own and I’m not required to give a favorable review.
I absolutely love reading about The Gilded Age. And while romance is not my favorite genre, the time period and the setting of Kentucky drew me in.
The author does a great job of weaving in romance, faith, and some humor into the story. I genuinely liked the character of Edward. Veronica, however, I was very hesitant about. I understand that she did not want an arranged marriage, however, the way she acted was somewhat childish and turned me off of the story at first. And then when she meets Edward, she goes so far as to make a fool of herself to prove the point that she is not “marriage material”. But when Edward proposes a plan to make their parents happy, she does a quick 180 about everything that was shocking and honestly unrealistic.
However, the more I read, the more I got into the novel. While still not my favorite read of the year, it’s a nice, clean read with faith elements for those Christian romance readers.
I had received a copy of the book as part of the Celebrate Lit Blogging Team and was required to give an honest review.
“An Arrangement With the Heiress “by Lisa M Prysock is a clean fun romance. This this is a story about arrange marriage that both the bride and groom are against.Veronica is determined that she’s never going to get married and if she does, it’s going to be for love.Edward‘s father needs for him to get married because he needs the money. This is the story of how love comes unexpectedly.I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.I really like the ending.Edward’s sisters are a little devious in their plans To break up Edward and Veronica because they don’t understand there’s their father’s secret. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The characters have really developed in this book and you can understand why they do the things they do.I recommend this book to all readers that like clean romances. I received a complimentary copy from the author, and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.
After the first chapter, I was ready to quit reading this book, as the main female character was self-centered, acting childishly, and shallow. After a break, I read the next chapter, and discovered the main male character was a lot more likable, so I decided to keep reading. I did come to enjoy the way the love story unfolded as the two characters decided to spend time together to keep their parents off their backs, and ended up discovering each other quite attractive and loveable. I did not really enjoy reading about all the excesses of wealthy families in the Gilded Age – there was nothing I could really relate to or wanted to emulate. At least the two main characters were focused on discovering God’s will for them and trying to follow that.
“I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
An Arrangement with the Heiress is the beginning of Lisa Prysock's Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age series. What a wonderful start it is. I enjoyed getting the two main characters, Edward and Veronica. Their story is full of adventure, love, faith, and drama. It was fun and entertaining to journey back in time and being part of their world. It was captivating from start to finish.
I am going to give An Arrangement with the Heiress a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers and fans of clean historical fiction. I am eagerly awaiting for the next installment from the Kentucky Debutantes of the Gilded Age series, To Choose the Longshot.
I received a paperback copy of Lisa Prysock's An Arrangement with the Heiress from the publisher but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
An Arrangement with the Heiress, by Lisa M. Prysock, is book one in the Kentucky Debuntantes of the Guilded Age. This is a well written, easy to read story that also contain humor and romance. Veronica's and Edward's parents have arranged for them to be married.
I typically don't read stories of the Guilded Age but the description of this story caught my attention. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I especially enjoyed when they travel to his home and she stays with her aunt. I enjoyed her aunt's character a lot. She gave Veronica such good advice and was there for her when Edward's mother and sisters tried to get involved. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it will not be my last.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.
