Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
A sweet book with people living their best lives. Maxine returns to Magnolia to jump start her life after divorce and raising two children. Everything is the same and yet new. It takes awhile for her to finally find her footing to live life for herself.
Anyone who reads my reviews knows I am a big fan of series. This is the first book in the Magnolia Key series I love starting over books and people finding late in life love. I was very happy for Maxine when things starting going her way. Then she lets her rude and obnoxious daughter make her feel like she needs to uproot everything that she had accomplished and run back to help her. If you could yank a person out of a book and smack them upside the head I would have done it. Can't say much more so you can read it yourself. Looking forward to book two.
Saltwater Sunrises is the first book in the Magnolia Key Series. This heartwarming tale beautifully captures the charm of small-town life and the essence of new beginnings. It follows Maxine's return to Magnolia Key, offering an inspiring and relatable journey as she navigates the complexities of her past and present.
Maxine returns to Magnolia Key to visit her best friend Beverly, whom she hasn't seen in years. Facing various life changes and navigating her relationship with her grown children, she seeks a fresh start. Although she grew up in Magnolia Key and feels some familiarity, she is on a journey to rediscover her place in the community. The hidden painting and coded letter add an intriguing layer of mystery to the narrative, keeping readers engaged from start to finish.
Kay Correll skillfully crafts a story of friendship, romance, and self-discovery set in a beautiful backdrop. I couldn't put this book down and am eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Magnolia Key series. It's highly recommended for anyone who enjoys uplifting tales filled with romance and heartfelt moments with a touch of mystery!
Phooey! The only part I’m really interested in won’t be revealed until the next book or further. This was a lot of fluffy filler with more than enough self talk. The relationships were predictable and formulaic. No tension at all (in my opinion). Others obviously think quite highly of this book as evidenced by so many 5 star ratings ….. but it isn’t for me. I literally skimmed the entire book and won’t waste my time with the rest of the series.
I very much enjoyed this book. Ms. Correll did a splendid job writing about real life issues. I personally can identify with Maxine’s story. I lived what she went through and it does my heart good to see it in print and know she survived the heartbreak as I did. Thank you for writing this book. I am so glad I found it.
