I was content with the state of my life. My solitary existence was what I chose, I was better off when no one held me to promises. Love? Well that is just a distant memory, a lesson learned the hard way. Then she happened. My sister's best friend, all sunshine, and rainbows. With every skip into the room, she stole the air from my lungs, resurrecting feelings I’d buried deep. She is a temptation I can’t shake, and completely off limits, not that she’d want me anyway. I just don’t know how long I can avoid the best part of my day before I ruin it by doing something we can’t take back.
Casey
Freshly single and enjoying the new found freedom, even if loneliness was creeping up on me. I was swearing off romantic entanglements, so done with boys. But, of course, my childhood crush stumbles back into my orbit, a walking disaster in need of a hug and a reality check. Under all that angst though, is just a gentle lumberjack. I was determined to help him get back to his old self again. I wanted to be a friend, or just his friendly neighbourhood therapist, but my heart decided to go rogue and those old familiar feelings came rushing back. I was a lovesick teenager again. There's just one minor problem: he’s my best friend’s older brother, and he's head over heels for someone else.
I'm Brittany Rianne, a Romance Author from Australia. Let me take you on a journey filled with love, passion, and happy ever afters.
My heart belongs to the world of love stories, and I’m a complete sucker for a happy-ever-after. I embarked on my writing journey in 2023, fuelled by a rediscovered passion for reading and the unwavering support of an incredible online community that breathed life into my dreams.
My debut novel, 'Falling for Fury,' is the first instalment in a five-book series of interconnected standalone’s, Central Sparks. ‘Hiding from Hope’, is the second book and is set for release on 29 July 2024.
Set against the bustling and romantic backdrop of New York City, the series follows best-friends Addison, Casey and Rosie, and the friends that make up their found family. Filled with some heavy emotion, plenty of banter, angst, swoony-romance and certainly some spicy moments, Central Sparks is epic love and deep friendship.
When I'm not lost in the world of books, writing stories, or falling for fictional characters, you'll find me savouring moments with my family and friends. Between the chapters of life, I also steal moments to recharge with a good night's sleep, copious amounts of coffee, and enjoying my own version of a cozy small-town, romance.
I was so blessed to have Beta’d this book for @authorbrittanyrianne
This is Brittany’s second novel as part of her ‘Central Sparks’ series and follows the beautiful story of Jessie Jenkins (JJ) and Casey Baker (Ace, Sunshine, Baby).
“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘸, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?”
Honestly, I loved this book so much. It was emotional, wholesome, hot, funny, ALL the emotions! (I BROKE at Casey’s horrible sister scene) 😭😭😭
Casey and Jessie have known each other for years having grown up together because Casey is best friends with Jessie’s younger sister, Addy. (Trope - Friends to Lovers)
Casey, our little people pleaser, does everything for everyone else, takes care of others, but who takes care of her? Well, none other than Jessie mother fkn Jenkins, that’s who. And boy, did he look after her 🥵
All in all, Brittany’s writing is incredible, the way she tells these stories is just beautiful and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series as we start to learn about the others.

These two 😍 when you love book 1, then book 2 completely takes over your world. I've been lucky enough to enjoy this story from concept to completion and I can safely say I highly recommend it for all romance readers.
Uhhhhh this book was AMAZING! I enjoyed reading this book so much. It was healing, heartwarming and gave me the warm and fuzzies. Their romance was perfect and the writing was fantastic. It was full of banter and had me laughing at loud. The spice was *chefs kiss*!
Hi, Brittany what did you put in this book because I fell in with Jessie so much!
“𝗛𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗲.” “𝗛𝗶 𝗝𝗝.” These two 🥹🥹
Following on from book 1 we in the story of Jessie (Addison’s brother) and Casey (Addison’s BF/ roommate). Jessie starts trying to socialise more with the group now that he and Addison have worked through their relationship in book 1. Poor guy, he’s such an introvert like me, I could sense when he didn’t want to go out but so glad he did because he needed to open up since his ex Jenny.
Casey has always had a crush on Jessie since she was a teenager and spending time at Addison’s, she is such a people pleaser and tries to help everyone else but puts herself last (hi, it’s me again). Their friendship was really cute to start off, I love how Casey just inserted herself into Jessie’s life without a care, showing up to his apartment and what not 😂
This was a beautiful story of healing mainly from Jessie to opening his heart up to love because he is so grumpy 🫣😂 I’m very intrigued for book 3 and cannot wait to read it.
Jessie, motherf*cking, Jenkins. 😮💨 I feel like those 3 words could be my whole review 😂
Casey is pure sunshine. She's the girl doing allll the things for everyone else. She's running 2 studios while her sister is dealing some things, she's making dinners at home for herself and her roommates. Running herself into the ground until our man Jessie calls her out and wants to take care of her.
"If you spend all this time looking out for others, who is looking out for you?" 🥹
Jessie is the best friends, hot older brother 🤭 who's been admiring Casey from afar while growing up. He's grumpy, he's broody but also owns a cute coffee shop and reads and writes novels 😍 and totally gone for his girl 🫠
I absolutely adored this book. Such a wholesome read 🩵 this is book 2 in the Central Sparks series and definitely recommend picking up these books. I'm so excited for the rest of this series. And the epilogue in this 🥹 obsessed
"I want you to choke me and tell me how pretty I am." 🫠🥵 - Casey Baker
“I’m done hiding, Casey. I want this, all of it. I want it with you, and I want it forever.”
4/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🌶️
Thank you Brittany for this ARC. Congratulations on your second novel 🥳
In Hiding from Hope, we follow Jessie and Casey. Jessie is a loner since he had his heart broken, he’s also Casey childhood’s crush, as he’s her bestfriend’s older brother. Casey is a chronic people pleaser, and one day she offers to Jessie to be his person. I loved this book. It’s a cute romance and Jessie and Casey’s story was beautiful. I loved the interaction between these two and I also loved that we got to know more about the characters in the future books (I can’t wait for Rosie and Caleb!!).
I was lucky enough to Beta read this for Brittany so thank you for SO much for trusting me with your book and I am forever honoured and grateful 🥹 and let me tell you I was giggling and kicking my feet and swooning over Jessie like it wasn’t invented! The banter, the spice, the emotional moments - this had everything you want in a romance book.
I was SO excited for this book after I finished Falling for Fury because Brittany totally blew me away with her debut and I just KNEW the series was just going to get better and better! And I was not wrong. This book was EVERYTHING 🥹
We have Jessie and Casey as the main characters in this story. Jessie, the broody coffee shop owner who has had his heart broken from a past relationship. The way this man had me SWOONING 🫠 He is overprotective with grumpy lumberjack vibes and loves books. His character development and the way he slowly opened up to the idea of allowing another person in his life and the way he fell for Casey was just beautiful…the mouth on this guy and the spice? 😮💨
Casey - a word to describe her? Sunshine. Yep, even Jessie nicknamed her that. She was an absolute angel, she puts everyone else before herself and tends to forget that she deserves to be happy too. The way Jessie helped her realise that sometimes it’s ok to have someone else to look after you too. And he did, to perfection.
And a special mention for the side characters! Ummm Rosie 🤣 everyone needs a best friend like her. But I love them all and the little crumbs Brittany is leaving behind, I am so excited for the rest of the series.
I honestly could go on and on with all my favourite scenes and quotes (I highlighted the shit out of this one 🤭) but do yourself a favour and add this one to your TBR. I have had the privilege of getting a few bits and pieces for the next two books and let’s just say I’m already FERAL for Lucas 👀 you’re definitely going to want to jump on this series!

What to expect:
🩵 Best Friends Brother 🩵 Grumpy/Sunshine 🩵 Childhood Crush 🩵 Age Gap 🩵 NYC setting 🩵 Multiple Nicknames
Jessie Jenkins is a wonderful character. He may seem grumpy, but beneath his tough lumberjack exterior lies a heart of gold.
Casey truly embodies sunshine ☀️, but there is more to her than meets the eye. She radiates life and joy, yet like everyone else, she also faces her own inner struggles 🫶🏼.
The beautiful dynamic between Jessie and Casey is like an invisible string that has been drawing them together over time, waiting for the perfect moment when everything falls into place.
🩵 Best Friends Brother 🩵 Age Gap 🩵 NYC Based 🩵 Spice
I am truly thankful to Brittany for welcoming me as one of her permanent ARC readers - I am eager to continue this exciting journey of Central Sparks with you! 🩵
4.5/5 This was such a fun and light read and left me feeling so good and happy.
I liked the fact that there were some chapters from their past. Not too many to make it like a dual timeline, but enough for us to see how and when Casey's feelings for Jessie started and progressed over her teen years, which was honestly so cute.
I really loved Casey and how she cared about everyone in her life and showed them that through her actions. Her relationship with Jessie developed so well, and it was so cute to watch them become friends and watching it gradually turn into more as they spent more time. It was so easy to root for them, and they were just so good together.
Jessie had his own reasons to live his life in solitude, avoiding people and never letting anyone get close again because of his past experience. But he needed someone he could go to, and Casey was that person. She slowly helped him get comfortable with the group, become a part of it and was also just by his side with whatever he needed. She helped him realize that he wanted more for himself and not keep living in his past and in fear.
Jessie and Casey really fit well together and helped each other out so much. Casey helped Jessie feel again, which he felt was impossible given his past. He really had to work through his insecurities from his past in order to do right by Casey, and she waited for him patiently through it all. After being someone who went above and beyond to take care of everyone's needs, but never really being anyone's priority or focusing on what she needs, Casey finally had someone who took care of her and put her needs above all. Their way of letting each other know their feelings through classic literature was so damn adorable and I was just swooning so hard.
I also liked how things worked out between Casey and her sister, Grace, and how she slowly came to terms with the fact that she can't always fix everything and that she needs to voice out her feelings too.
Jessie and his dirty talking mouth. Good GOD!!! The spice was really good and had me blushing. "I want you to choke me and tell me how pretty I am." Girl SAMEEE!!!
The side characters were all so different but worked together so well and were a group you'd want to be a part of. Rosie was just so amazing, and I can't wait to read her book.
Thank you Brittany and Truly Yours PR for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Brittany, you’ve done it again. I don’t know how but I now have a new favourite couple (please don’t tell Addison & Noah). This book literally had me feeling butterflies one moment and almost crying the next! It was honestly such an enjoyable, cute read. Please please add to your TBR if it isn’t already!
Jessie… where do I start with this man? Firstly, it was honestly so good to see the growth from the Jessie we saw in Fury to the Jessie we see in the epilogue, *chefs kiss*. Secondly, this man is so thoughtful, and THE GIFTS, omg the gifts he gives Casey, I was swooning (a lot). Lastly but definitely not least, like Casey, I also love me a man who chokes me and tells me I’m pretty and Jessie did not disappoint.
Oh Casey… I felt for Casey - I can relate to her a lot. When she cried you betcha I cried with her, and when she swooned, I also swooned with her haha. I am so proud of our girl for standing up for herself and allowing herself to be taken care of. Jessie was honestly perfect for her and he helped her in ways she didn’t even know she needed.
If you can’t tell by now, I’m in love with Brittany and her writing. She has such a beautiful talent with her storytelling abilities and pair that with her playlists and you’re left with a masterpiece. I will be forever grateful to have been able to read the first 2 books as ARCs, also sorry Brittany but I may or may not be one of those annoying ones waiting, not so quietly, for book 3. 🩵
A special thanks Truly Yours PR and to the author Brittany Rianne for allowing me to read and review this book 🫶🏾
TROPES: 🧋Grumpy x Sunshine 🧋Age Gap 🧋childhood crush 🧋Friends to lovers 🧋She's a chronic people pleaser, but he just wants to ✨please her✨ 🧋Best Friend’s Brother
This if my first read by this author and boy am I glad that I had the opportunity to read this book! I am really starting to get into the age gap trope and this book delivered. Casey who is one of the main characters has known Jessie for a while since he is her brother’s best friend. And Jessie Jenkins knows Casey because he has been admiring her from afar. Now our man Jessie wants to take care of our girl and let me tell me you he does end up taking good care of her 😬🫣 The chemistry between these two builds and once it’s there it is phenomenal to read on the pages!

Word can’t describe how amazing this was, I don’t know what you put in your books but im addicted and I need my next fix.

Thank you so much to Brittany Rianne and Truly Yours PR for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"Hiding from Hope" had me giggling, blushing, and laughing along the way. We follow Casey and Jessie on their journey of falling in love, tackling past heartbreaks, and strained family dynamics in a hard-to-put-down book. There are so many tropes at play here that are executed wonderfully including:
-Age Gap (7 years) -Grumpy x Sunshine -Best Friend’s Brother (a personal favorite) -Friends to Lovers -Slow Burn
I liked the depth of character development that Casey and Jessie both had in this book. I also appreciated some of that same character development in the side characters. This book is indeed spicy but not too overdone. I haven't read the first book in this series but now I am going to backtrack to Addison and Noah's story.
I received this book as an ARC by Brittany Rianne in exchange for an honest review. After reading the first book, I knew I was going to love the whole series. What I wasn’t prepared for, was this book wrecking me! I sobbed like a little baby in this book. I was laughing in the book and smiling but damn this book made my heart hurt. Having the book in a dual pov made it 100 times better but also 100 times more heart wrenching. When I got to a certain bit, I’m not joking, I was full blown crying and was so invested that I could not put it down. This couple has my heart and I already know that the reader of this series is also going to have my heart. “For the girls waiting dor their epic love. The girls who want a gentleman, but wouldn’t mind being man-handled. Who support feminism, but are dying for a possessive caveman to growl, “Mine”. I give you Jessie Jenkins”
Thankyou thankyou THANKYOU to beautiful Brittany for choosing me for her permanent ARC group- i'm honoured, excited, and beyond blessed to be part of the amazing group she has chosen!!
3 words; Jessie. Motherf*cking. Jenkins. Oh the man that you are
From admiring Casey's sunshine from a distance while growing up, to pining in proximity, JJ can't seem to let himself hold the girl with the happy-go-lucky vibe. He's caged in his routine, with a stack of classic books he knows by heart, but he realises just want to know her needs by heart.
"Fuck, Ace. I really want to take care of you. I want to stop pretending that we’re just friends. I want to anticipate your needs.”
Casey is pure sunshine (just ask Jess oop). She is career driven, so much so she is driving herself into the ground to accomodate for everyone else. Running 2 studios while her sister dips out, cooking at home for her best friends/ housemates, and pretending none of this effects her- it's all too much. No one notices, until her best friends hot older brother calls her out.
"Don’t bullshit me, Case. If you spend all this time looking out for others, who is looking out for you?”
This book is SO much more than romance. It's friendship, trust, sisterhood, and so much more. Good music and baking, overly sweet coffees and a grumpy barista (that just happens to make a new menu ft. Casey's last name oop), nosy family ALWAYS!! but overall this book is just good vibes and relatable, amazing characters! Casey is going through the motions of letting herself be loved, while broody Jay finds a way to love Casey following a broken heart and a scared mind. But JJ also allows himself to reach out, make friends, and pursue more for himself, rather than settling for the scraps of the life he once planned and dreamt of.
"It’s oddly comforting to have people who seem eager to hang out."
My heart was so happy reading the epilogue, it melted me and put me back together all at once! It is just so beautiful and pure and I am obsessed!

The amazing second installment to the Central Sparks series is here!
I LOVED this book. If you’ve read Falling for Fury, then you know that Casey and Jessie have known each other for years. From the get-go, it’s very abvious that Jessie’s put a lot of effort into not thinking about how attractive he finds his sister’s best friend. Lucky for readers, he changes his tune pretty quickly.
I enjoyed this book so much. I saw a lot of myself in Casey (So Jessie Jenkins is basically mine, right?!). She’s a people pleaser who takes care of everyone in her life, but who takes care of her? Well hot, broody (and intellectual) JJ does that’s who.
💜Best Friend’s Brother 💜Grumpy x Sunshine 💜He Owns a Bookstore 💜Slight Age Gap (7 years)
Special Thanks to Truly Yours PR and author Brittany Rianne for letting me read and review this book!🙏
I am a Romantasy girl, through and through. If there’s no tall dark paranormal being, then I struggle to find interest in the plot.
That being said Brittany Rianne has made me a changed woman 😌 Not only was I completely hooked with this story, but she had me falling for a blonde man???
Jessie (MMC) runs a bookshop cafe, and if that isn’t enough for him to already be your dream man- he’s a tall broody grump, who will quote classic novels and maybe do some nsfw stuff to you on the kitchen counter 👀
The birthday presents he gives Casey in chapter 44 was the sweetest things I’ve ever heard & I’m officially making my bf read this book & take notes 😂
Casey (FMC) was such a relatable character. She’s a chronic people pleaser, who loves baking and romance novels. She has a complicated relationship with her sister, and drinks possibly jail-worthy iced coffees. The banana x Turkish delight latte had me questioning things 💀
This was my first book by this author and I was so pleasantly surprised how much I loved every single page!
I love a best friend’s brother trope and this book didn’t such justice. Casey and Jessie are soulmates through and through - and their story of longing and healing was so truly incredible. Their love doesn’t come easy but when they finally give themselves over to the idea that they each deserve the happiness their relationship brings, what follows is a beautiful story.
It’s so full of depth, so full of emotion, so full of LIFE. Jessie is a secret sweetheart who, when he allows himself to feel, offers Casey the kind of care and love she so deserves. And she, in turn, makes him feel safe and loved in a way he has never truly known.
Throw in a well-rounded group of family and friends and this book is amazing. I loved reading every chapter. And I cant wait for what’s next!
It’s gonna take me a hot minute to move on from this man 🥵🔥 He might just be perfection #swoon
I honestly loved this book so much. Best friend’s brother, childhood crush, grumpy x sunshine 👌 The characters are so beautifully written and relatable.
Jessie (JJ, Jessie, Caveman) is broody, owns a bookshop/cafe and writes novels - say less right?! And Casey (Ace, Sunshine, Baby) is a people pleaser, always caring for others and putting their needs above her own.
The age gap was questionable (only because the MMC and FMC grew up together). I did really feel for the FMC’s sister with her situation and totally understood Grace’s reaction and feelings during her grieving process.
“if you spend all this time looking out for others, who is looking out for you?” Jessie…JJ…babe 🥵 sign me the f up!! Thank you Brittany and Truly Yours PR for this ARC! This was such a sweet book following Jessie and Casey. You will definitely feel butterflies and all the warm & fuzzies with this story! There is so much to look forward to in this book! ✨ best friends brother ✨ age gap (7 years) ✨ duel POV ✨ slow burn (I’d consider it this but some may disagree) ✨ grumpy x sunshine
While this is the second book in the series, it is a stand alone. I always recommend reading the first though 🤪
Let me start with this…. Jessie MF Jenkins 😮💨 I knew I was going to love him from snippets in Falling for Fury and I was not wrong. THIS 👏🏼 GUY 👏🏼 Did you know he owns a bookshop/ cafe? SWOON. He’s a closed off broody grump, with a soft spot for his sister’s best friend.
Casey aka “𝑨𝒄𝒆, 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆, 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚.” I found Casey so relatable, full of all these emotions but never letting herself feel so she dedicates just one day to do that 🥺 She’s a little bundle of pure sunshine, dedicated to her work, a people pleaser, always looking out for other people, but who is there looking out for her?
The two of these together? Perfect match. I loved how Casey wanted to “be his person” 🥹 and brought JJ out of his shell, the way he opened up and started to hang out with the guys. JJ being the one to look after Casey and not have her “hide” her feelings. Yes they were super sweet, BUT the spice? Casey knows what she wants and Jessie delivers 😮💨
“𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒈𝒆.”
This book was so wholesome and a beautiful read, I loved everything about it, the side characters as always AMAZING. I am READY for the badass Rosie and the one and only Mr Lucas 👏🏼
Thankyou to my girl Brittany for letting me be apart of your beta team, as always so grateful and I can’t wait to see where you take the rest of the series 🫶🏼
ARC Review: This was really cute! I enjoyed this a lot, I’m not usually big on grumpy x sunshine, this one was enjoyable without too much from the characters. This was a little lengthy in my opinion for a contemporary romance, but that’s the only thing I can say I disliked. I’m always here to support a indie author! Also, from someone who thinks roses are overrated and overhyped, the fmc thinking the same just made me smile. 🫶🏼

*received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This book was a bit of a rough start for me at first, simply because of the intro scene haha. There were a lot of names being thrown at me at once and I was confused as to who was who as I read along. Once I got into the flow of things, it was a much smoother ride and I’m glad I pushed through rather than simply giving up. This book was honestly an adorable story. You have two characters; one who is emotionally closed off and wants nothing to do with anyone, and one who is sunshine herself wanting to be there for everyone. Their personalities should clash but they manage to make things work.
I was pretty surprised when the friendship picked up pretty quickly in the beginning. It was a painful start since they were so awkward around each other, but the progression of their friendship into a relationship was really beautiful to watch. Individually, I really liked the characters. Jesse, or JJ, was very upfront with expectations and what his deal was. Everyone knew where they stood with him, except of course, Casey. Casey was definitely a lot for me at first. She overwhelmed me with how fast she was pushing through her life and was like a little energizer bunny. Once I learned more about her character, I felt sad for her because her life seemed so exhausting. Together, I really liked the pair. It was an easy and simple match honestly. One person needed to be taken care of and the other wanted to take care of her. It was a match made in heaven.
This is a very low angst book in my opinion. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I felt like it was more focused on the comfort aspect which I loved. There was of course the third act scene, I won’t give too much details on it so save some suspense, but it wasn’t too bad. There was also focus on her familial relationship with her sister as well that I really liked. It showed how she had hope for all aspects of her life, not just romantic relationships.
Overall, I’d recommend the book! It was a fun read and I really enjoyed it. It did have smut scenes that were highly descriptive, so if that is not something you’re looking for, I’d stay clear. Otherwise, enjoy it!
#Review: *Hiding from Hope* - Brittany Rianne [18+] 4.8/5✨ 3/5🌶️
I've been seeing this book on Instagram for a while and I was really curious about it. When I saw it's available to apply for an ARC, I immediately went to sign up and I was lucky enough to receive an e-copy. Thank you Brittany Rianne!
Casey had a crush for her best friend's, Addison, older brother for a really long time. Since she was 16 years she felt those butterflies for Jessie, but there were six years which parted them and Jessie didn't see her the same. Years have past and Casey still feels those butterflies when she sees Jessie, even though she had previous relationships. She is now single and Jessie is too, after a very painful breakup, which made him a grumpy man and one who doesn't consider himself enough anymore.
By spending more time together, Casey and Jessie become lovers from friends, but this happens after a simmering slow burn. Those encounters where full of flirt and steamy looks to each other. But Jessie needed to heal first, after his breakup and didn't want to hurt Casey in this process.
Let me just say that I kind of fall in love a bit with Jessie, who seemed a really grumpy and closed to himself man, but he had the most beautiful and full of love heart. He was all-in in a relationship and he venerated his woman. He was a veritable cave man, who will do anything to protect the one he loved, even though she didn't belong to him. I liked his fragile, full of pain side but he also showed his playful and dominant side.
Casey is the people pleaser kind of person but she will soon learn how this isn't the best thing to do by her own sister, Grace. She is a very strong, independent woman, but she founds her strength in Jessie's strong embraces. He is very supportive of her and helps her even though he is a mess too.
I just adoored this book. For me, the way the characters were built and interacted made this read so good and easy to follow. This is the second part of "Central Sparks" series, but it can be read as a stand alone too.

So am I just a Brittany Rianne Stan? Yeah probably. #This book was amazing and you’ll find me baking drinking fun iced coffees for the foreseeable future. The #CaseyBakerEffect be is so real! JJ just dethrone Noah as my favourite Central Sparks guy (sorry Noah love you) and the FILTH this man speaks. Sign me up. Turns out I have a type, Broody grumpy MMC with a filthy mouth and loves to grab the throat. God damn. I could spend the next 3-5 business days (and the rest) talking about how much I love this MMC. His attitude, his grump, his hand necklaces, the filthy filthy mouth, his perfect smile that he saves only for Casey. Brittany knows how to write the perfect man. Gosh darn.
Anyway the story. It was beautiful, as a chronic people pleaser myself I found I was putting myself in the story as Casey and genuinely felt her emotions, the way it was written was so incredible (these characters are so incredibly relatable and well written.) and when I tell you I sobbed, tears streaming down my face while my partner slept next to me. The anxiety I felt during this omg. JJs anger and the pure control he has over it is great and his newly rekindled relationship with his sisters had me kicking my feet, the banter and the jokes, ugh beautiful!! Also! JJs book…?! Yeah I wanna read that. Anyway!! If you love a grumpy broody MMC a sunshine clean girl FMC, childhood crush -> friends -> lovers, bookish guy X yoga girl (ALSO he’s ex ice hockey, just saying), Best friend’s brother, mental health rep (some of the best I’ve read) “good girl” hand necklaces, pure filth (the bar bathroom scene, yeah I’m looking at you) the. This is for you. I can’t wait to see what the gang get up to next!
Available KU, Amazon and Brittany’s website from July 29th! And if you can’t wait until then, the first book in the central sparks series is available NOW!! Falling for Fury is beautiful and I think about Addy and Noah DAILY.
🩵Arc Review🩵 Hiding From Hope by @authorbrittanyrianne
☕️This book gave me serious notebook vibes aside from the actual book being mentioned a couple of times. The way Jessie loved it is book boyfriend material. This grumpy latte making man falls for the sunny personality of Casey. They grew up together and slowly fell for each other but never acted on it. There was definitely a slow burn, but once that spice hit, wooweee 🌶🌶🌶 let's just say it got 🔥 🥵. I should have read the first book, which I'm kicking myself for not doing, but I think the book was able to standalone regardless. I loved it, ultimate feel-good love story! ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jessie
I was content with the state of my life. My solitary existence was what I chose, I was better off when no one held me to promises. Love? Well, that is just a distant memory, a lesson learned the hard way. Then she happened. My sister's best friend, all sunshine, and rainbows. With every skip into the room, she stole the air from my lungs, resurrecting feelings I’d buried deep. She is a temptation I can’t shake and completely off limits, not that she’d want me anyway. I just don’t know how long I can avoid the best part of my day before I ruin it by doing something we can’t take back.
Casey
Freshly single and enjoying the newfound freedom, even if loneliness was creeping up on me. There's just one minor problem: he’s my best friend’s older brother and he's head over heels for someone else.
✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨

Hiding from Hope is the second book in the Central Sparks series following Falling for Fury, and I was SO excited for this book!! Casey and Jessie were the perfect couple and balanced each other out so much! I love the writing style, the pace of the story, the slow burn, the character growth, and the tension that built up between Jessie and Casey. The way their relationship unfolded kept me hooked from start to finish. And yes, I did cry in this book as well!
Casey, our sunshine, is a people-pleaser, which stems from being overlooked in childhood due to her sister's Grace and her parents’ issues. This forced Casey to grow up faster, constantly seek approval, and avoid conflict. However, with Jessie’s support, she becomes a stronger woman and starts to be honest about her struggles with Grace. Watching her grow and assert herself was inspiring. I do wish she had also confronted her parents about how their actions affected her.
Jessie, our resident grumpy pants, is the complete opposite of Casey. After experiencing past hurt, Jessie shut himself off from all kinds of relationships, including friendships. My heart broke when Jessie brought up his ex. However, when Casey decides to be Jessie's person, he starts to open up more and let people in. Casey helped Jessie realize that he, too, deserves someone who will prioritize him.
I adored Jessie and Casey, both as individuals and as a couple. Their chemistry and mutual pining were fantastic. I love that even though they had an age gap, it was not overused or overdone. The quotes and references were spot-on, adding to the emotional depth of the story. The TENSION was crackling, and OMG the spicy scenes were HOT! Add it to all the "F*ck it" moments they had turned me into a puddle
Side note: I was not a fan of how Casey handled Jessie when they got into an argument, but I'm glad they were able to talk about it and be honest with their feelings. I'm also glad I got to see my girl Addy! She will forever be my favorite <3
Let me just start off by saying, Jessie motherf*cking Jenkins. Okay, let’s get on with it.
“ I’m done hiding, Casey. I want this, all of it. I want it with you, and I want it forever.”
I wish you could all see my highlights from this book. Wowsa ! There are so many 😅
I thought I loved Addy and Noah but damn, Jessie and Casey take the cake.
“and it was only when I began to feel actual, physical pain every time you left the room that it finally dawned on me: I was in love, for the first time in my life.”
When characters are friends before they’re lovers it just creates for a better story. These two knew each other from a pretty young age as Casey was Jessie’s younger sisters best friend. He didn’t start seeing her like *that* until her 21st birthday where in Jessie’s eyes she turned into a women.
One of my favourite things about them? Oh I’m so glad you asked. They quoted lines from classic books to one another. Like um hello? That is adorable.
“ I knew it was hopeless, but that didn’t matter to me. And it’s not that I want to have you. All I want is to deserve you. Tell me what to do. Show me how to behave. I’ll do anything you say.”
The man has not one, not two, not three, but FOUR nicknames for her. Ace, Sunshine, Baby and Stella Mea, it means my star.
If that doesn’t make him the best book boyfriend ever, I don’t know what else will.
“I’m sure the caveman loves everyone knowing he can deliver epic orgasms with his huge c*ck. “He does.” Jessie’s amused response has me choking on air”
Look I could go on and on about this book. It was everything. I loved it. From the first chapter I loved it. I love them.
5 stars (if Goodreads would let me add more I would 💁🏼♀️).
Thank you Brittany for writing yet another, mf masterpiece.
